A500 systemdump - Acer Iconia A500

I couldnt get my system to update because the build prop was not the right cheksum. I found links to the default system and got a dump. If you are getting checksum errors on files. try to replace with these. For those how need it.
So this is a sys dump so far that I was able to get.

Where are you located? US. If in US. can you dump the boot.img and flexrom.img if you havent already updated.

could you please dump your .img's I could really use the
Boot.img
Flexrom.img
System.img
You have the same firmware I have so I can get back to true stock. It will help a lot of other people out as well. If your unsure how I can give you the commands to dump each individual image to your SD card.

Overclocking....i need some help

Ok so on my adventure of overclocking the Eris i have ran into a bit of an issue.
I started with making a nandroid backup of my phone. this gives you system.img, boot.img, and data.img. I have successfully extracted everything from the image files except for one thing...the kernel.
I have taken the boot.img and split it up into the ramdisk and kernel and sorted through the garbage to get working directories and file structures.
I now have the ramdisk in a editable format but the /sys files are created from the kernel on boot and those are the ones i need to edit.
I have the kernel file on my computer, isolated, but i do not know where to begin on decrypting this jumbled mess. As far as i know it isnt compressed as i cant find magic numbers in the headers but this has baffled me.
Any devs out there wanna shed some light as i dont know much about android and i just started this yesterday.
Wait for HTC to give us the kernel source code
That would work if i had some patience. Any idea when we could get the source?

FixFlash – ROM Flash Verify and Repair Tool *MUST use utility IMO*

This was featured on the XDA Homepage a few days ago, but the developer just confirmed that it should work for any flashable zip, and *should* work on any phone.
Thought I would give the heads up here.
Could fix random Force Closes/Bootloops that people get even when they had wiped multiple times before flashing a new ROM.
Original Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765989
Edit: See post 3 in this thread for my results.
This should save a few headaches, but I think most issues are caused with people not wiping....this wont be able to fix that.
Well, I finally put this utility to the test and here are my results.
Wiped Data/Cache/Dalvik, flashed BakedSnack 1.6 and immediately ran FixFlash. Here's my output:
Code:
E:\aEVO\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb shell sh /sdcard/FixFlash.sh
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *

Say your rom is BakedSnack1.6.zip, extract the contents to a folder called BakedSnack1.6 and place that folder on the root of your sdcard.
Make sense? Not sure how else to explain it.

Atrix Custom Backup For Each Sbfs

Hi,
I readed this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041572
then I had an idea that is just simple
I got tired with my att atrix for many months now we can't flash any sbf on that phone.
I suggest that people dump data and system files and all other folders for all the sbfs that are shared.
that is as simple as it is, after that we just need to update the folders and files over the old ones.
I will also try myself to extract contents inside the .smg files of sbfs using linux but I can not garantee it will work since I don't know what is the real file format of current atix smgs right now.
I will create a shell script that will do the job easily and I need people that have Bell atrix, Europe Atrix, Latin atrix or Asia Atrix.
If we succesfully overwritte those folders and files on our phones, I'm pretty sure that future update will also work since update.zip is just looking for right files on the phones and not checking for 1init bootloader version.
Who would like to participate and try?
for those who have questions, feel free to ask me
extract sbf
rename CG57.smg to system.img
use kitchen to make a update zip
or
make a nandroid backup
use system.img from clockwork/backup folder
use in kitchen to create update.zip

Can someone do me a favor!

Please I really need someone with root and didn't deleted some files do this for me!
If you are not sure you are the person, do it anyway, maybe it can be useful!
Ok. Run the file attached (remember to unzip first) and see if there is 2 files on the folder (after you ran it!), the files are "recovery-from-boot.p" and "install-recovery.sh". If you found those files, please upload them to me, as I download it I give you thanks and mention you on my Thread LordAIOTool, I need the files to use on it!
Thanks
I'm not on Windows, but looking at your batch file, it looks like all you're doing is pulling /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and /system/recovery-from-boot.p, yes?
If that's the case, here's those two files from my MZ604.
http://ubuntuone.com/4zhk0odoiOaFvTdkHYjbPg
Ok, thanks
Sent from my MZ605 using XDA App
FYI recovery-from-boot.p only works for a specific boot images (namely the stock one that is shipped from google).
If you try to use this file on any other boot image it will fail.
Keep up the good work, looking forward to your #10 AIO Tool! Hope you fixed the Mount SD card issue.

[request]Wanted system.img of 4.0.4 ICS

Please do help
I was supposed to provide the file but my net connection died halfway during download T.T

BUMP anyone ??
It takes only 10minutes provided you are running ICS 4.0.4 :l
I'm currently uploading CWM system of 4.0.4 for Arc to Google Drive, but I have slow upload so it will be around 45-60 minutes at least before I have a link for JJ.
This is compressed system and data folder.
Not CWM, not img
LT18i_4.1.B.0.431_1254-2184.7z

PS:
IF you add META-INF and proper update-script, can be used for CWM updating
This is CWM backup of the system image LT15i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic World FR :

and this is the rest of the CWM backup in case anyone wants it:

Take no notice of the date on the files being 1980. I took the backup before the first startup so that there would be no changes to the files and the current time wasn't set at that stage.
Both parts are 7zipped.

Warning, LT15 CWM system.img backup does not contain all files. LT15 has also vendor files, about 90Mb.
If you format system partition, and restore from those backups. You will lose lots of apk. FC everywhere
Suggest you to use LT18 files, less bloatware (LT15 has annoying France applications)
Thank you guys for the links... It made sure that Arc update comes side by side with other devices...
I am on it and done with 90% of the ROM... Only one bug to fix and then its ready for release...
Needed these Arc files to ensure you guys get Original drivers optimized for ur devices and not some ported one...
even if I couldnt manage those bugs I will come out with a Fully functional test release in 24-48hrs....

Huh?? Since you only uploaded zips I assume you are referring to my CWM backup img. What files do you claim are missing?

Can someone else confirm this claim? Which apks are missing?
I just formatted system and restored from my CWM backup, a short while ago, when I saw this post. I don't see anything missing, and no FC.
If there really is something wrong with my backup that I can't detect, then I apologise. But, since I have been able to restore successfully without problems, I'm not convinced.

Excellent
Looking forward to the ROM
Should this be stickied so that other Devs can make use of arc libs directly ?
