I don't know if this method will work for you or make your device unbootable (Use at your own risk)
First, Turn off your phone and then mount your sd card from your phone to a card reader connected to your PC.
Then go the Android folder in your sd card memory and back it up to your computer (to revert back to it if things went wrong)
Finally, replace the files called (zImage, initrd.gz) In the Android folder in your sdcard with same files names and types from any other Gingerbread SD build (my suggestion is that you try first with AmeriCanAndroid AOSP gingerbread build by downloading the whole build and get those files from it and use it on your build that you want to use on your phone).
Place the sdcard back to your phone and turn it on, and hopefully this method will fix your problem...
This method might work in theory but because the build and the kernel are not optimized for each other, Some functions will not work as they were used to be (Bluetooth, Wifi, Network signal, etc...) or Android go into boot loop or even not boot at all! so if you don't know how to do this or don't know how to revert back to your original build/kernel after a failed boot, then please don't risk it!.

Hey yugoport, can you now try the kernel from isaiah build in nexus hd2 and post the results?

_SD.Magldr__isaiah12345_v3.1_160 build is nice, everything is HD/zoomed out, would look nice on a tablet, hd2's screen just about makes it usuable, any smaller screen on the hd2 i would stick to _240 builds, i like fitting more things on one screen, i dislike the scrolling about crap all the time, if anyone loves scrolling and tabs all the time then get a iphone, WP7, blackberry or symbian that everything done is a screen/page change whilst blocking out the status/notifications bar, i prefer old versions of WM aka WM2003se all the way up to 6.5

What kind of probs are you having and maybe someone can help. Many are using Android as a daily build with no problems like me. Give us your exact setup and be specific about your problems.
If android themes cause you problems then stop using them.

That's really helping.........
I've been using android as my main on the hd2 since I got it. I've not had any problems (other than low battery, but that's mostly fixed now). If you need some help you're gonna have to specify what exactly the problem is. Have you tried updating the kernel or radio?

Takes a long time and does not boot into andriod..
I have this problem with booting into andriod. Currently, my HTC HD2 is running on dutty's family rom V3. I have already formatted my SD card using the SD formatter tool. Then I have placed all the required files into the SD card. For the first time booting into andriod, it is relatively smooth, roughly taking about 2 to 3 minutes to boot. I am using Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 2.3 rEVOlution [kernel:hastarin R7.7]. After I switch off my phone and turn on my phone again, I run clrcad and haret, it gets stuck at the booting up screen with the green HTC symbol. I have to take out the battery again, reformat the sd card and repeat the same process. Could anyone help me with this problem??
OS version: 5.2.23142(23142.5.3.10)
Manila Version: 2.5.20191914.0
ROM: Duttys HD2 ML Family Rom (V3) WWE
Radio Version: 2.12.50.02_2
Protocol version 15.40.50.07U
i got the same problem , some one gave me a link to do before installing android
this is the link i got
http://leoandroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=182
But i tried , doesn't work as i wanted, every time i need to format reinstall folders etc etc...
if some one can help us, please let us know what to do
Here's what's on my tmousa phone;
Winmo - Ozrom 4.4
Radio - 2.15
Android - Mdeejay_eVo_Sense_v._1.0_Warm
I use an 8gm class 6 SD, I was using the stock 16gb class 2 but found the class 6 much much faster.
I really don't have any major problems, everything I need seems to work just fine, I only rarely stress it out and have to force a reboot. I did format the SD from within windows, no sure if that matters but it's always seemed to work for me and I figured the phone should know what it wants to see.

So you don't have to do a date/cache wipe when you switch between the two roms?

No. As of right now everything is completely seperate. Once I get this tested and released I will begin looking into sharing data and either creating an app or a new recovery.
Id like to help, but have a question...
Currently running CM 6.1 rc1.. ive got an 8gb sd card with apps installed and other misc files taking up about 75% of the card... would i be able to power off the phone and just install another sd card when i want to switch roms? Or is this something that runs in one rom, shuts down the active rom and boots the 2nd?
Where is the info for the dual boot stored?

You will need 350Mb on the sdcard. I might make several different scripts depending on what you are running since CM6 is so small and doesn't need 200Mb for system
I would be willing to test it.

I would be willing to give it a shot at some point. I have customMTD partions though on my BravoC and whenever I install a new rom I have to patch it so that it boots. I don't know what kind of effect your .zips I would need to flash would have on my phone.

I ran into a problem with unzipping the rom.zip on the phone so I gotta figure out how to do that. All my test were done from the computer and I just put everything into scripts. If I can get that worked out you can flash rom1 the way you normally do and rom2 would not mess with mtd partitions.

I use the x10, and currently we do not have the bootloader hacked
I'd be happy to test this on my Acer Liquid.

[Q] App for booting from one andoid to another.

Is there any app which will help me to boot from one android to another without going to windows?
I have MCCM and Froyo. I want to know if i can boot to Froyo from MCCM without going to windows.
Thanks for your time.
Nope, not at the moment. Since android runs off the SDCard and windows resides on the flashable NAND memory windows always loads before it's shut off by Haret. When the DFT team releases the Magldr, then you might be able to do what you're asking for. Hope that answers your question.

Hi guys
I have the MDJ FroYo HD v.4.4 build on my HD2, a friend recommended i tried MiUi so i put it on to my sd card booted it up then went back to MDJ's build and received an error when i turn on WiFi and excessive battery drain, far more than normal! since deleting MiUi folder from sd card battery seems to have got better but still error on WiFi. is it even possible to have two types of android on your sd card? Or am i just unlucky?
Anyone else having this problem?
Thanks for your time

MIUI builds create another Android folder beside it's original file, that may have conflicted with your MDJ's

Almost all android builds create other files on SD card. Normally they shouldn't conflict with each other but its possible your miui overwrote or corrupted something in your dhd build. Also possible for there to be little bits of programming still lingering around.

[Q] Best WORKING 100 rom for Legend

Hey,
after official froyo update there's not much to wait for on Legend - there wont be any official Gingerbread that's for sure. So I was wondering if theres any rom which is working flawlessly like official one (I mean that EVERY part of phone is working without problems - wifi, radio, 3g etc) which has newer features than Official Froyo?
bonus question: I want to change sd card for bigger and I was wondering if I can simply transfer all the data to pc and then back to the new card - will that work? - I would like to avoid installation of everything again..
You can safely transfer SD files back from a computer to the SD.

Like a PC when u reinstall an OS u will have to reinstall programs (apps)on your phone if u put a new Rom on it. I have re Romed my desire 6-7 times in the last 6 months its a pain having to D/L the apps again and install them but not realy a big deal, the best thing to do is download app packs of the net and store them in a folder on your SD card and access them from there for reinstalation rather than searching for them again on the app market.
Oxygen 2. RC7 Rom was the best and smoothest rom I found on the desire except the video cam didnt work which was going to be addressed on the next version RC8, not sure it will work on the legend but worth checking out, I have been running the latest REDUX Rom for the last month and that is pretty good as well
ok thanks
I can recommend Blayos B 0.7, working excellent for me.

I use cyanogenmod 7.0 RC4 at the moment.
For me the full hardware is working after the Update on the latest radio.
This means: 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM-Radio, Compass, G-Sensor, ...
Wait the time for the release of CM-7 and then give them a try.
You will be surprised how fast your Legend can be
---
By this way:
Thx to the devs for the great work!
Just use cyanogenmod, it is great

Either Blayo's or CM6 for Froyo.
As for your apps, just install Titanium Backup and backup all your apps. Then transfer those backup files to your pc and back to your new SD then restore. But IF I'm not mistaken, you can just simply move the app data around. If those apps are installed on your SD then it might not work.
ok guys thanks for answers
Hi,
Im currently running on CM7 Nightly Build 32. For me everything is working, only one thing is annoying, the USB transfer rate seems to be USB 1.1.
Data-Transfers are very slow, e.g. CM7 Rom file with 82 MB needs 15 minutes. I'm not sore if it is related to CM7 or Gingerbread Kernel.
Cheers,
Stolich
I would higly recommend the CM7 Nightlies, I have the 7. 08.35.21 radio and full hardware functions. U can clock it "safely" to 787 mhz, switch to ADWLauncher Pro and the phone feels like a Optimus 2X
Write 24 mbit/s
Read 75 mbit/s
its slow, but still usb 2.0, those speeds is probably because my sd card sucks.

[Q] Restore to factory WM stock after Andriod installed

Too many things are not working. And the phone is super slow.
How do I restore a HD2 with android installed back to Windows Mobile stock version? Can you please point me to Wiki, I am looking but I cannot find it.
Thanks,
Download your stock ROM and flash it via SD card - this way, everything will be back to factory status.
Just check the stickies in the WinMo thread, you´ll quickly find what you need.
If this is done will HTC know it has been using Android NAND? So could a phone be sent for repair if this is done?

Well first of all which Android rom did you use?
Did you try others?
Did you read the roms thread for tweaks/fixes?
Some roms can make your device run faster and better then Windows Mobile, You have obviously not tried variosu roms and just gave up after 5 minutes.
You should take your time and try some of the lighter Android roms like NexusHD2 or maybe a CM7 based rom. What you ahve probably tried is a full on DHD sense rom which (at first) will be laggy until OS has had time to settle down and also a few reboots.
I have been using Android since I had my HD1 and more or less since day1 on my HD2, Ive used many roms (thats teh fun part) and have not had a problem overall of slow or too many things not working, It all depends on the rom you use and if you tweak/fix or not.
+1
