EVO Screen Abuse.. taking requests - EVO 4G General

I dropped my evo a few weeks ago and chipped the bottom-left corner of the glass. It still works fine but with the E3D right around the corner I decided it was time to call in for a replacement so I have a good one to sell when I get the 3D. Lucky me.. they sent me a new one, not a refurb
Before they turn my phone into a viable refurb they're going to have to replace the screen so before I send the old one back I intend to find out just how much damage the screen can take.
I've horrified a few people here, showing them the screen needs no protection by TRYING to scratch it with knives, screws, keys, coins, etc..
I'm going to take some video of the forthcoming torture but am open to suggestions before I begin
This is the current state of my evo:

do you have access to any gunpowder?
I was thinking tit would be interesting to see you cut a little line of gunpowder, like a line of... you know, some other powdery substance someone might arrange on a glass surface...
And light it up!

slide it face down in the street. there maybe glass in the street.

Take a diamond to it lol

Are these scratches or what...?

Earlier when I turned my G1 over, I found multiple lines on the back of the battery cover, I have no idea what they are but they obviously don't look very good. The phone has always been kept in a case and only today have I noticed them. I have a white G1 so the cover is a light bronze color. The lines resemble lines made by a pen very lightly. However, after applying alcohol (hand sanitizer), water, soap and intense rubbing it will not come off. Has anyone ever scratched their cover? What does it look like? I know this is a very... strange question to ask haha.

Yeah it is. I mean, really...it's probably a scratch.

suppose we can't really tell unless you get us some pics
my guess is, it's either a scratch or a crack.
I cant take any pics... they don't show up very well in the picture. But ah well, my Shield Skin comes in a few days, and new themes will be released in like a week from the competition to make me feel better. In the end I will probably end up just buying another battery case for 10 bucks off eBay. Must be my OCD haha.

[Q] Lots of dead pixels

Hi all!
I've had my streak since august now, and lately it has developed some screen weirdness in the upper corners. It started in the upper left corner, but it didn't bother me (i can still press the menu-button up there). Now it has duplicated to the upper right corner, and that bothers me some more - i can't see what time it is..
Is there anyone else who's experiencing this kind of problem? Does anyone have a clue what the dell return policy would be in this case? I live in Norway, so i'm not sure i want to return it if the dead pixel patches doesn't grow.. (i'll probably have to pay tax for the phone when they return it in the mail!)

Looks like your LCD broke underneath the glass. It should be covered under warranty, though they might make things difficult for you if there is any visible damage to the outside.

Seems like you have your streak on the trouser pockets most of the time, and in that time seems like it has been pushed against the screen for so long that the pixels are burning... Just my tought. don't know if this is cover under warranty but you can probably get away with it because there is no sign of misuse.

a single crack on the screen..

Hi, I got a single crack at the corner of the screen... will it actually spread after a long period time of use? please note that there will be a screen protector stuck on it. Thanks!

If you drop it constantly it will spread. But if you keep it safe from danger there should be no problem

Your going to get air pockets in your protector then dust then when you take it off it might make it worse but then again it might not but for sure keep stress off of it I mean im sure you know that but I had to say it but of it's not that deep it might not be that bad
Still flashing
Looks like it's just the uppper right corner and almost all the way to the edge. May spread completely to the edge, but I wouldn't worry much. Don't drop it

So didnt opt for the protection plan? Can I ask how this happened? This is gorilla glass so you had to have done something rather rough to get this to happen.

Replacing digitizer, how do I know which one to get?

Someone at work dropped their EVO and busted the screen so I told them I would try to replace it, I bought a screen off ebay but didn't see any differentiation between the screens so I just bought a random one. I read afterward that there are 2 different types of screens?
She has a Ver. 004
Gotta open it up. There's 2 different connectors, and small one and a large one. If you don't have right size connector for phone, then you wasted that purchase.

yup, the only way to tell is to open it up and look

I'll take pic for you to show what it looks like in case you wanna do it yourself. But on the other end, if you file insurance claim, you have good chance of getting evo 3d as asurion is bout depleted with og evos.

Is your Motorola ear piece logo slanted/crooked?

I got my Razr HD today, and one thing I noticed is that the ear piece Motorola logo on my device is slanted.. it appears that it slants downwards towards the left, and the earpiece doesn't look straight.. Take a look at the pic below and you'll see what I mean.. the left dips and the space isn't the same as the right.. kind of hard to capture with flash on a camera.. let me know if yours is like this.

Never would have noticed this unless you said something. Lol yea mine appears to be *slightly tilted down and left.

Either mine doesn't have the slant, or it's so minimal that it can't be seen without some sort of microscopic measurement. Honestly, I don't see it in the pic either, but it could be a combination of my bad eyes and the glare in the pic from the flash.
Return / exchange it if it bothers you.
I kept having that idea before you mentioned it.... and now that I see your post, it all makes sense lol.... its not that bad though, hardly noticeable, keeping it! lol
Mine is not crooked, but the speaker is a dust trap and for that matter so is the mic at the bottom... small annoyance
