One Click Root for 10.1 Tab - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

Hello, just wondering if there be ever a one click auto root compiled for the Limited 10.1 ???
Thanks.

Nope there isn't cause this device doesn't have an external sdcard.

Doesn't the Samsung internal hard drive act as an external SD card ?? You can you adb to push data as a SD card.
Just trying to put my pennies across. Not a big brain to this stuff.

Wrong section, this is for 10.1v

I''d be interested in a one click root for the 10.1v too, so we can keep the thread alive at least.

Sorry, was not aware requesting 1 click root was not a development question.

It was moved because you are not a developer working on 1 click root. Main difference is working vs asking.

People do it for a variety of reasons. I'll just name a few.
1. To get updates before they are official
2. To run custom roms
3. Change processor speed (underclock/overclock)
4. View and edit system files
5. Modify anything you want
6. Wireless tether
7. Put themes on your phone
8. Use some apps that require root.
9. etc
It basically just gives you full control of your device, so you can do whatever you want to it. That's why its so beneficial.

*cough* adblock *cough*

I believe there's a process of program called oiden that will do this for you. Look in the development section.

the main problem is to find an easier way to unroot rather than flashing a stock rom (some original firmwares aren't avaiable on samfirmware )

It's called ODIN3, and you use it to flash a different kernel on your Tab. You can find tons of kernels in the development section. I'm a fan of Pershoot's. Those kernels will enable you to root and/or install a different ROM on your Tab.

First: you have to search everythink in the GT-I900-3- Galaxy S SuperLCD forum!!!
If you look for methods for the.Galaxy s you will (maybe) brick your phone
So be carefull with the answers which were posted and look if they are for.yours or the GT -900-0-

You just need to know that it's not a 9000 and it's a 9003. The rest is always written on the thread
First thing take a deep breath. Just read through the forum and you will learn how to do it. It took me some time before i figured out how to flash roms.
About your bluetooth, go to bluetooth settings and check "Discoverable"
There's not much for flashing stuff for the I9003. There are millions of things to flash for the I9000 lol
Just tell me one thing...does super one click ROOT method works for so called GT-I9003??

This is a beautiful but seriously loaded phone.Do not be in a tearing hurry to root, flash all sorts of ROMs etc.Use it for a few days in its virgin state, let it stabilise but do read through all these forums taking care you are reading about 9003,make notes and then go for practicals.Otherwise, you might just end up posting SOS messages on trouble-shooting which is really not necessary since the list of things you have set out to do is not some rocket science but common sense+knowledge that can first come only through reading.
Moreover, there is pleasure in figuring things out yourself.
Best wishes.

1. yes, gingerbread is out but not yet for asia. you can either get other regions's gingerbread and flash it to you phone. take note, warranty's void after flashing.
2. dockbar icon depends on ur launcher. if you are on touchwiz, you have to either apply a theme (i guess, coz i havent used touchwiz).
3. if you wan sg2 apks, search forums for which apps you wan. if you really wan sgs2 so much, then you can either get apply a custom rom which is using sgs2 apps.
4. if u are on froyo, get speedmod kernel, voodoo or etc's kernel which has built in root functions.
5. discoverable must be ticked in settings or ur pc wont be able to see you for the 1st time.

During setup, SuperSU was one of the choices, then there was another with a similar name (I forget what the other option was at the moment.)
That is, assuming I understand your question correctly.
2 exploits that were available did not work. There was even some hesitancy to install it in the first place because an alert said Google recommends you don't install this because it contains suspicious code (not in those words, but you know what I mean.) I went ahead with installation because I didn't hear any negative talk about it after a little searching through the internet.
Questions go in the q&a forum, report your own post and ask a moderator to move it.
Instead of taking the chance of bricking your phone, why not follow the routing guide in the sticky thread?

But with all due respect, this is rather big messup, for such minor update, at least for people who do use sd cards. I have over 20 apps installed on SD cards and fix requires root, so if I get legal update either many programs don't work anymore or I root and loose Knox warranty? Neither solution is acceptable.

I fully agree with you. And, I don't want to sound like a teacher, but this proved that reading before doing is very wise.
I agree with you too, but Samsung sold more than 10.5 mln Note3. XDA have 5.5 mln members, so even assuming every member here have Note3, what about the remaining 5 mln Note owners, probably not even aware XDA exists? If I had official update, I would probably update without giving it much thought, or reading around and if many of my programs wouldn't work I would be really pissed and most likely sending it back for service. Am I the only one thinking this is not acceptable and maybe I should write a letter to Google and Samsung what I think about it? And what could possibly be a reason for this mess? Anybody knows, why would they change permissions just like that? Many of my programs installed on SD without my input, some use it for cache and probably most wouldn't work anymore.

it's not a problem that will be "magically" fixed by Samsung... it's a new feature of Android 4.4...
A new permission needs to be added to the app... so it's up to the app developer to add the needed permission.

the new update to E S explorer a day or 2, back fixed this issue .!.
so just check that you got latest update of E S explorer ( if you use it Google play store )
otherwise just use Samsungs onboard " my files "explorer

Thank you for an answer but I know about it. What I'm asking is different. People claim that it's new kitkat feature so the developers have to add it to their software to adjust it to 4.4.2. But what I really see it's actually Samsung screwed up and third party developer can't to nothing to overpass it.

It's not Samsung that screwed up... Others are also having the same problem on non Samsung devices...
Permissions that specifically need to be added for kitkat if you want to access all the sd card are WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

unroot custom rom

I use my phone a lot for work, mostly email. We are now required to install a Microsoft Device Management software on our phones and it checks for rooted devices. I like the option of having the features of the custom ROM I'm running, and some software I use with root. Is it possible to just unroot a custom ROM, or do I have to go back to stock? Thanks!
Not sure. I would try root cloaking apps first.

You sure you have the right forum? The tab s3 doesn't have Android 10 yet, if it ever will. But to answer your question, no, you still can't change the r/w and have it stick in Android 10.

Also, I realized this is the wrong thread for this question.
