will the 10.v1 survive, when 10.1 is coming .. - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

hi,
what do you think in relation to f/w for the 10.v1 when the 10.1 is coming ?
will the 10.v1 die ?
or do they have the same f/w?
thanks
kober

It will die because it is no longer in production.
It was only a short production for Vodafone only, as they did place an order for this tab right after MWC'11.
No one else will have them and I doubt Vodafone will reorder.

Not a wise move to buy 10.1v it's end is near{already dead},,10.1 & 8.9 are the future

For less than half the price, like under 300 Euro, I will buy one
I think it is good enough if it has update to 3.1 ... While waiting the true Google Nexus tablet. My feeling this magical device will be announced at the end of this year together with the Ice Cream Sandwich!

[Q] New 10.1 availability

Any one knows when 3G version might show up in Europe (with Samsung SoC inside! )?
I guess Samsung will know, but it has not been announced by them yet.
We will just have to wait and see.

I guess we should know more one 10.1v is on sale with Vodafone. I suppose Samsung wants to give them some breathing space. If they would give exact dates now (+ SoC name) they would undercut sales of 10.1v as I believe not many people would buy it knowing what is behind the corner (and how far to this corner there is) :-(.
Come on Samsung... Vodafone is doomed for failure with your 1st GT 10.1 as is Moto with Xoom. Stop wasting time and get me slim GT 10.1 - as I am on the verge of loosing control.... iPad 2 is here.... I could buy it.... I need to be strong (do I?)
I think Samsung is now trying to dispose all those thick 10.1v from their inventory. Before they start selling the new ones.
For sure there are plenty of buyers if they price it right, unfortunately it is not.
The thing that I hate the most ... Google IO is just on the corner, next early May. What will it bring? For sure it would be the better Honeycomb, I hope.
Because to be honest, I don't want to use current version of Honeycomb. Too much crash / FC (see Xoom forums).
I would rather to wait ...
As for waiting, I just bought iPad2 ... for my wife. When I got my Android tablet, we both have one each, no need to share!

[Update 25/10/11] Release date NOW UNCERTAIN for Galaxy Note!

Further update: date now uncertain, may be early November, may slip back towards initial mid-November date.
FFS! 495 Gbp to euro + taxes = +/- 700€ in my country... thats almost 2x the minimum wage / salary.
Too damn expensive.
I have to agree. And we all know that there'll be an even better phone
released, less than a year later, and we'll all want that one too...
£478.99 exc VAT on 31st October at Handtech
If this phone follows the trend, there should be a big price drop in 3 - 4 months. I can wait.
This phone will be awesome. I have tablets, but I still do most of my news reading on my current 4" screen LG G2X phone. I don't know why Samsung had to market this for women. Anyways, the 1.4ghz dual core and battery capacity is probably one of the best in the whole phone industry right now.
Com'on US release...
I don't really understand why you looking for prize drops. In 4 month there is something else you want and you have to wait again Do you ever buy phones?
lol, that's why I still have an HD2 right now. In 4 months, there might be an even bigger phone than the note.

release now looking like mid November (hopefully)
Clove Uk has revised their release date to "to be confirmed" from stock expected about November 1. Clove "hopes" to ship mid November. They are waiting for Samsung to tell them when they will have the product delivered to their warehouse. It is very possible phone will be delayed so it can ship with Ice Cream on board (rumor.)
The price of a smartphone (Galaxy SII) bought outright (unlocked, expensive than phone price on contract) which includes tax and gst here in Australia is roughly 425 GBP.
At 425 GBP, the SGNote is NOT CHEAP, but I would buy it in a heartbeat, but not a penny more. The baseline for smartphone outright price has been 400-450GBP in Australia for sometime, I think its unfair to exceed that.

This ebay store will sell you a pre-order.
I'm so torn between the Note and the Nexus.
At the moment I've preordered the Nexus but I dont know... I would realy like the bigger screen and the sd-card slot on the Note.
Might end up with both...
EDIT:
And now I've both preordered. Think I'll go for the Note. I just hope that it will get ICS fast.
EDIT2:
Leaning towards getting both now =) So my wife get a shiny new phone to (but the sgs2 she have now is not to bad either)
Gonna try them both out and then I'll take the one i like most and my wife get the reject

LOL i am in the same boat as you
The Nexus is nice but I'm majorly swayed by the screen size on the Note and the stylus input.
I think most people looking at both nexus and note, Had both pre-ordered but cancelled the nexus. Only NFC and ICS missing on the note. I dont need NFC for three to five years. (might be payment method world wide). but who knows? ICS, i still think we will see that on the note sometime next year...
Brilliant short clip showing how good the Note is for video editing and annotation. This is one awesome tablet phone.

Ooh, thanks for that - nice!

Time for an upgrade?

So had my HD2 for 2 and a half years, was on a 2 year contract but they didn't offer me an upgrade and I didn't keep track
Anyway, love my HD2 with android on it, is there much of a point in upgrading to a newer phone like the Galaxy s2, or should I wait and get an even better one in the near future?
If so, what are the new phones I should look out for?
Yeh I would wait if you currently happy, Most devices are on Android 2.3.7, I would wait for ICS to be the standard OS version & better hardware/battery spec of future development.
I don't think the upgrade to SGII or any other phone right now to be worth it. I would only consider Samsung Galaxy Note due to it's big screen.
On April quad core phones are expected to arrive, like the HTC Edge. If you can resist the urge to buy, wait until then.

Get this or wait?

I had the original 7.0 tab and I loved the size and portability.
Since then I've sold it, got the Note (which is awesome). I hoped that it would replace the tab, but I've noticed I've been reaching for my laptop much more than I ever did with my Tab.
Also with MWC just round the corner I'm thinking I should wait?
Another quick question, now that it has a resolution 1280x800 does that mean websites now load properly?
Thanks, Ben.
I have a Note and got the 7.7 too. Great combo in my opinion. I have tried for 3 days to run out the battery and still haven't. This is the best tablet made I think.
The build quality is what surprised me. It feels so solid, really premium.
I'd buy if I were you. I don't see anything this size to top it anytime soon.
Got to go ahead and get you one...
I for one last year had a P1000 too & sold it to someone who chouldnt believe 'they' came up with a 7 inch phone.....
Then I got the Note..
And Ive noticed that many many folks on here ALSo have the GNote too..
Big screens rule!! You have 1 or 2 at home always on always watching..
you may as well have 1 or 2 in your pocket as well...
I carry my Gnote in my front pocket..
I did carry my P1000 in the same pocket too..
I just got the 7.7 yesterday and test fitted it in my pocket,,..
It Fits!!!
ZGo get you one.. You know you like big screens.. TV's and Phones...
PS.. What is MWC???
MWC= mobile world congress 2012 barcelona. One of the biggest phone shows. Leaning more to phones than Cebit, Ifa or Ces.
It is from 27.02.12 to 06.03.12 i think
I have a few SGS2s running CM9, have had P1000 which was great and I sold it, had both 8.9 and 10.1 for short periods and missed the phone call capability. Bought a P6200 on the expectation of selling it to buy a P6800 when it ships (the 3G P6800 is just not available yet in the UK, except as a Far East import which doesn't appeal). So I'd got my head straight and knew what I wanted to end up with....then I read today about the new 11.6 and it's 2560x1600 resolution screen...no word whether it'll support normal phone capability though.
I honestly do wish Samsung would stop announcing products that then don't ship for 9-10 months, where the product lifecycle is only about 18 months anyway they're just hurting themselves....expectation doesn't hold for 9 months when you then announce the next iteration.
Instead if they announced products and shipped them no later then 90 days later I think their sales would rise quite dramatically.
Ho Hum....I suppose it matters not what I wish for, just means I won't be buying the P6800 now will instead use the P6200 till my next upgrade.
Haha OP check my sig...Note and 7.7

New Tab 2 (7") ships with ICS

Hopefully it's not far behind for the Tab 7.7! I don't mind Honeycomb per se but it's kinda laggy and sure that ICS will cure this (as it did for the TF Prime).
It looks like a recycled Tab 7.0 with a new shell.
That one has 1.0GHz CPU, even lower than Galaxy Tab 7.0.
I have no idea what samsung are thinking of.
Are they selling "1.2GHz Galaxy Tab 7.0" and "1.0GHz Galaxy Tab 2" at a time?
Where is the sense in it?
Definitely makes zero sense, unless they are going to sell this for < $199 (which is not impossible) sans contract.
Asus already announced a 7" Quad-Core Tablet for $250...so Sammy will have to fall in line with 7" pricing and specs real soon!
Looks Samsung wants in on the kindle fire market. Price right this thing could take off

Samsung makes good gear, but you gotta admit they kind of have their heads up their asses when it comes to marketing and overlap of product lines.
What are the chances Apple will sue any new device that ships with ICS?

They already filed a suit against the Nexus.

only 1ghz dual core and 1gb ram? what are they thinking actually >.< it wouldnt be so much called an upgrade, even we were hesitating to upgrade to 7 plus, nevertheless this tab 2
my original tab already run ICS anyway, so even they shipped it with ICS wouldnt be a big temptation for me

According to sammyhub.com, they are going to sell this for 419-463USD... (wifi version)
I bought my P6810 for $469 + shipping fee and it's much better than this new tab.
Hoping samsung will deliver ICS to 7.7 soon, though.

ICS for my mez has doubled the battery life, plus the extras, so I can't wait for ICS on the 7.7, too.
(although cm9 would be preferable).

Where did you find the P6810 for $469?
i've heard that they will try to position it to the Eee Pad Memo and that's $249!

I bought mine here.
I live in Japan, and shipping fee was $25,
It took 3 or 4 days for delivery.
Shipping to US seems $28.
But I don't know how much your country imposes tax on a imported item.
