Basically what's being said here is that we FINALLY have someone that can get us chargers specifically made for the Iconia. There is a wall charger and a 'desktop' charger (the one with the brick, like a laptop charger). The only benefit I can really see in the desktop charger is that I can use half of it in my iGo charger.
Either way it's NOT a 2 foot cable (thankfully!)

OEM??

Did you mean non-OEM? OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacture. Acer is OEM, any other is 3rd party supplied or non-OEM.

Yes. You are right...Now I know how important to learn English. Thanks

So... where does one find this charger?

...for me, I can`t see why you can`t just get a regular household extension and just plug the charger into it
what am I missing

So how do we get one?
Sent from my A500 using Tapatalk

I finally just spliced a 6 ft wire into the factory charger. I tried the extension cord method but since the factory transformer is so close to the plug it was causing problems when hanging from the tablet off the side of my bed, it acted like a pendulum and put added stress on the small plug.

How about a link to the "desktop" (brick) charger shown in the first photo at the beginning of this thread...

Does anyone know the exact size of the power adapter if one wanted to buy a extension DC cord ? For example:

[Q] BATTERY help! please help im going craaaazy

Hi all, im reeally tired of this... damn amazon mailed me a transformer with wrong adapter... now i tried charging my TF with my ipod charger (the adapter) and it didnt show any progress on battery icon, and when i finally arrived home after spending week in a middle of forest i plugged my TF to computer and that damn thing wont charge! it has been on 1% for an HOUR! what the heck should i do?
i plugged TF to my win xp computer and it booted but then it says "1% battery left, plug the charger in" (or at least something like that ) now i have beeen waiting to play with my brand new TF but im kind of pissed off
The reason none of the charging methods you tried worked because TF requires USB 3.0 source. So, unless you get a hold of another TF charger you will be SOL.

just to confirm: is there *ANY* other way to charge it?
What do you mean by wrong charger? is it a US plug or the wrong european plug? can't you get any adapter or even hack something? like take an AC splitter and enlarge the holes so the prongs from the adapter fit in? wrap with some duct tape and there you go...
there' s a thread in the accessories subforum called "DIY TF101 charger and other charging methods". check it out. although you should just RMA the TF.

How is this amazons fault exactly? The TF hasnt been released in Finland, so you obviously ordered from the UK amazon site, which will also obviously not ship with a Euro plug. It's a simple case of buying an adapter.
In Finnish, sorry English speaking humans...
Tietokoneesta tuleva virta ei riitä, joten tarvitset ladata seinästä. Amazon ei lähettänyt väärää laturia, tosin on todella typerää että muutamalla EU-maalla on oma malli. Itselläni tuli yllätys "mitä ihmettä, täähän lataa hitaasti!"
Get just UK -> EU adapter. Why The British must have their own AC plug!

If you buy a car in Great Britain, so they don't switching the steering wheel to the left side. If you buy the Transformer UK version, so you get the UK version.

OEM Acer Travel charger kit @ Walmart - $15

So the A500 that I had bought this week did not come with the charger. Just in case anyone was looking for a replacement, the Walmart's near my house have the A500 travel charger kit in the stores. Online the price is $22 but in the store it was only $14.99! I thought it was a pretty good deal since usually power supplies for for $25-30 in B&M stores usually.
Online the cheapest i could find was the $22 at Walmart anyways for the OEM one. eBay has some, but they are mostly all knockoffs from China.
Here's the link: walmart.com/ip/Acer-A500P01/16560714
The cord is pretty short, which I think is the norm for these. Comes with the US, EU and UK adapter plates.
If you go into the store and give the clerk the number below, they should be able to find it for you. In my store it was near the other tablet accessories, small section.
0088448399945
Hope this helps someone.
Nice find.
very nice find. Now I can have one at home and one at the office plus keep one in my computer bag for that price
Just picked one up yesterday, wish it was a slimmer design though...however for someone brave enough they can make the cable longer instead of the stock short cable.
I am planning on taking this power supply (the one I bought from Walmart as a spare) and modifying one of the included adapters (probably the US one since it is the lowest profile) taking off the AC prongs and re routing a long AC side cable to where the adapter attaches to the transformer making it look more similar to a laptop adapter with a cord at each end...
This way I could still use it with the standard adapters and also have a lower profile power supply to carry in the case (without having to remove the adapter)
Ted...
It was $14.99 at my Wal-mart as well-- picked it up today.

You must live in Oklahoma.
I once stopped at a Subway shop in Oklahoma to get a sub.
When asked what kind of cheese I wanted, I said "Provolone."
The girl said "what" and I again said "provolone."
She said, "provolone, what's that?'
True story.
Awesome find - San Antonio
Thanks a million! You just saved me two weeks of not being able to use my Iconia!
I just got back from a trip and I think that I left the interchangeable plug part at the hotel. I was just about to order a new power supply on eBay (avg $14) but wasn't too happy about the idea of waiting two weeks for the thing to ship in from China.
Found one here at the Walmart in San Antonio for $14.95.
Thanks brother. I've been having a hard time finding one on the internet (Amazon). I found mine in Charleston, SC.
Maybe the reason for the short cord is so you dont accidentally trip over it. I'd feel pretty dumb breaking my tablet all because I trip on it's long charge cord. And this thing charges pretty quick IMO, so it's no big deal to put it down for a short time while it charges.
I am showing $14.99 online

You get that for 2$ in my country.

Ok guys so i understand that its all this possible in your countries but not for example in czech republik... cables are very hard to find to buy and they are very expensive... for example about 30E and also here isnt something like ebay delivery and nokia cables are short... so please take this topic as manual for people that dont have for this moment any other options or have at home theirs old cables for videorecorders or anything else... thanx a lot

Typical. A guy develops something and gets these kinds of remarks.
The questions on why or costs are irrelevant. A developer creates or adjusts something because he can. There is no relevance needed.
Kudos to the OP.
good effort op, but seriously, wouldnt be this way easier? shipping to cz is free and the cable is about 40kc
absolutely agree with u "sousede" but when u need a longer one?
I dont want to sit 1m from tv and also there is waiting until it comes to u by post service... u know im not glad when i must waiting for something and this u can buy anywhere and anytime u want... but still agree with u when somebody wants original cable

Nope, too many small solder joints! Can´t simply not solder as it sits too close to each others!
It's not that hard, anyway going to a service center could be an alternative.

i guess they are the same, atleaset thats what the 'online chat helpdesk' guy on their website said.
I dint order it, instead got it fixed from asus service centre. It cost me 160$.
The item from the website + shipping charge will cost you nearly 120$ or more,
its better you get it fixed by asus.

But if you think that the service from Asus was expensive... tell me what you think about the 859$ that Asus Portugal asked me to repair the micro-usb!!!

Samsung Adaptive Fast charger stock?

So I'm ordering the phone from the UK which means the charger won't work for me here in the US. I was wondering if this samsung adaptive fast charger is the same that comes as stock in the US model, I don't want to miss out on Quick Charge 2.0 so I gotta make sure this one's right otherwise I might end up with a slower charging phone than my current N5 which charges very fast.
These all say output is 5V and 1amp? How does this compare to a wired charger?

Sweet! seems like it is the same power outage, thanks a lot!
It is. Even in the USA, with your lower voltage plugs, it's still 10x what fast charging bricks drawer. Should have no problems at all.
If you try and use 1 with a plug adapter, just make sure it'll pass it through at the correct voltage (although I dunno why it wouldn't). Or you could just order a US charging brick fro Samsung. It's all good.
I'll be using mine in the USA towards the end of the year. So I'm curious to see if if it's all good for you.

I'll be using mine in the USA towards the end of the year. So I'm curious to see if if it's all good for you.

I can get the same US charger for like 8-12 bucks from Amazon/Ebay so I think I'll just buy that since I don't plan on going to Europe any time soon. And yeah a plug adapter would probably work but I think I'm better off with the US plug charger since it's pretty cheap.

That's the best idea. The brick you have is for UK only, not Europe anyway. They use a 2 pin plug in Europe, but instead of flat pins they use round.
Whereas it's 3 for the UK because we earth all our plugs, so the long pin goes in first as it's the earthed one.
For sure for the sake of 12 bucks.
