Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi confirmed for June 8, pricing at around $399 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

Sounds good to me!

Wow. $100 cheaper. I think that'll make the lack of microSD a little easier to take, because I'll definitely need to spend an extra $100 on the 32GB model, which I hope is now $500 and also available June 8th.

This still does not make up for no micro sd

I think Samsung does not want to mess around with Honeycomb.
Google said it does not have any solution yet for it:

That maybe true granted that xoom has not even got theirs working yet and its been a while.
Darn dreams of having a tablet with everything is shattered until ice cream.

Transformer ?

sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can wait until 4th Quater and Ice Cream for SD support.
However, no SD support is still no excuse for leaving out the microSd slot on the GT 10.1 WiFi only version.

I've seen no confirmation one way or the other.
What we do know is the limited edition Google IO wifi Galaxy Tab 10.1 given away did not have micro SD.
And I've seen some reviewers doing hands on with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G version that does have a micro SD.
So my guess is the wifi won't have it and the 3G will. Though no clue on how much the 3G version will cost or when it'll be released.

Anyone know of a reputable website that has confirmed the $399? Seems a little good to be true.

The $399 price rumor stated with this ...
"Speaking at the event (Google IO), Samsung officials reportedly told Into Mobile that the company will release a Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 priced at $399, the same price as the Eee Pad Transformer."
into mobile reporting:
URL: http://www.intomobile.com/2011/05/09/samsung-galaxy-tab-101-wifi-hitting-june-8/
paragraph of interest:
"Smartly, we’re hearing that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi will probably land for about $399 before taxes. This is a great way to counter the juggernaut that is the Apple iPad 2 and I can tell you that this device seems like every bit the equal of the Apple tablet."

I'm still a bit skeptical about the price tag. They officially announced it would be $499, now there's just a rumor saying it would be $399. I'm very happy if it's $399 and it makes the lack of sd card slot a bit easier to tolerate, but I wouldn't count on it.

I also looked at Into Mobile's website and found nothing. Agree, it's a little odd if Samsung was sharing this news directly with them, they wouldn't have made this more visible on their website (I see it nowhere).
Still, it felt nice dreaming about it for a few hours.

UK Xoom pricing

Seems expensive http://crave.cnet.co.uk/laptops/motorola-xoom-price-revealed-already-zooming-skywards-50002167/
Was pretty keen on getting one until I saw this. Surely they should be pricing it to be competitive with other tablets out there.
Also, anyone know anything about what the launch date will be in the UK?

Wow that is ridiculously high. If thats a final price they most certainly wont sell crap. Not only will Apple own them but also the Playbook. I was planning to buy this tablet but now im concerned about the pricing. They need to sell this tablet at a reasonable price of $400-$600 dollars. However, I doubt this will be how much it costs. It mostly likely will go down. Wayyyy down.
Here here.
Looks like a great device, but they can't be serious about that pricing?
£500 max, absolute max. Just because the iPad is overpriced, doesn't mean Moto can get away with outpricing the overpriced.
Would be a tragedy for such a good device to fail or sell poorly purely due to pricing.
Most of us did not count in the price of the accessories yet… I think we need at least a standard dock which will cost us approximate another US100.
I wont pay more than USD1k for a tablet that does not support SD card, it is too far away from the budget for a tablet. I will focus my attention to the alternative android 3.0 tablets from Asus & Acer which will costs us approximate $400-$700.
I hate those webshops that try to profit from early adopters..
Wait....is this wifi only version or have 3G???

The rumor is that the iPad 2 will be cheaper than the original. If the prices I'm seeing on this are true, and the rumors hold for iPad 2 there is no way I can drop that kind of coin on a Xoom.

I haven't heard of a wifi only version for Europe. The information available is very vague though.
I don't think we should worry about these pricing rumours. The Nexus S was overpriced for a week before release and the Galaxy Tab was overpriced in the weeks/months before release too. These are almost certainly just guesses, we don't even know if there is an option for carrier subsidy, Wi-Fi only, etc yet

My past experience with android device told me not to trust any update/upgrade promise from the manufacturer. The update/upgrade will never come true as soon as your expectation. with this unacceptable high pricing, I wont consider it until it had supported SD card.
BTW, does Xoom support USB Host mode?
If another Android device has it I would think the Xoom would have it or easily get hacked to it.
Seems Mr Jobs was correct when he said that others could not match the pricing of the iPad.
I will go nuts if I pre-order and the price drops after a few weeks/months...
They should put it on contract £25 a month would be cool.then everyone could get one
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I'm not sure why everybody is going nuts because some "eXpensive" retailer has put a random pre-order price on their website.
Facts:
- Samsung Galaxy S pre-order on "eXpensive" website was €799,- (waaay overpriced)
- "eXpensive" already replaced their Xoom price with "Price Not Known"
- I've seen pre-order prices for Xoom as high as $1023,-
Chill everybody... just wait for Motorola to give us the official price point. Any day now.
I don't think that Motorola will make the same mistake as Samsung did with their Tab.
As for the iPad fans: I seriously doubt that the iPad2 will be cheaper then the current iPad. Expect the current iPad to drop in price, and better hope (for your sake) that the iPad2 price is equal but not higher then the iPad is today.

Looks like an 800$ US is a minimum...
http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/21/motorola-xoom-priced-at-800-at-a-minimum-according-to-verizon/
Ok, before you all get your panties in a bunch. This WILL NOT be the pricing of the Xoom when it launches and I will give my left arm for that.
Can any of you remember back a couple months back before the Galaxy Tab launched in the UK? Prices were being quoted in the range of £650 and like a week after it launched you could get it for damn nearly half that.
It's these stupid sites like eXpansys and the like that jack up the pre-release prices before any actual prices have been announced.
At MAX it may start off at £599 on some sites then then sharply come down to between £450-550....that's my opinion but like they say 'opinions are like @ssholes, everybody's got them...'

I totally see Asus coming it at that price with a 16gb internal memory. I think what is more likely is Asus wasn't ready to release the pricing to the industry. You know don't give your competitors time to readjust their pricing. They actually manufacture their own products and the parts in it can be bought for quite a bit under that price in the bulk Asus buys at.

The keyboard has an internal battery, so its normal for it to last LONGER with keyboard attached
Newegg shows prices on their site
Newegg shows the 16GB at $399.00 and a 32GB at $499.00. This maybe what is motivating Viewsonic to reduce the prices on their Gtab. They do not list any pricing on the keyboard/battery pack.
Just looked at Newegg, no longer listed.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 visits the FCC (GT-P7510)

From Engadget:
Yes, this is Samsung's latest 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab alright, not to be mistaken with its thicker 10.1v sibling that's gradually rolling out across Europe and Australia. How can you tell? Well, the older Honeycomb tablet bears the GT-P7100 codename, whereas this FCC filing and a Wi-Fi Alliance certificate show off the GT-P7510 moniker for this WiFi-only 10.1. Oh, and the drawing of the backside -- pictured after the break -- is a dead giveaway, of course. What remains unknown is the mysterious 1GHz dual-core CPU inside this razor-thin slate, but given the release of this FCC application, it probably won't be long before all is revealed.
Looks like it's coming to the USA very soon... =)

My exact problem. Asus will supposedly have transformer with scandi keyboard in stock in 3 weeks and the price for tablet+keyboard/dock is 599e. That's a steal when something like Xoom 32GB wifi that got crappier screen costs 699 over here.
But still the 10.1 just got something about it. In the end it probably just goes to what tablet is out first here.

Motorola Xoom UK price slashed again, now £249.99

If you've been following recent Motorola Xoom developments, you'll know that the first "Google Experience" tablet has just been updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Alongside the update, Carphone Warehouse, one of the main sellers of Xooms in the UK, has cut the price of the Wifi-only model to £249.99. This is a £50 drop from the earlier RRP of £299.99, and the latest in a long line of Xoom price drops which has seen the tablet gradually fall from the July price of £399.
It might not be as sleek as the Galaxy Tab 10.1, or as fast as the ASUS Transformer Prime, but £250 for a 10-inch, dual-core ICS tablet isn't a bad deal at all if you ask us. UK readers, would you be tempted to drop £250 on a Xoom at this point? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
http://www.androidcentral.com/motorola-xoom-uk-price-slashed-again-now-£24999
So from a perspective buyer to those who own the Xoom, is it still a worthy purchase compared to newer tablets? I've been wanting to get a 10" tablet but they either lack the dev scene or hit the wallet pretty hard but the Xoom is well supported and at this price seems to be a steal. I did hear about lag/performance issues early on but has this been ironed out? Thanks

ICS for me has fixed all the niggles of honeycomb, its still not perfect but the DEV scene has now gone massive with ICS builds so it wont be long.
Personally I still feel the XOOM is the best made of the tablets, I love the fact that out of all the tablets you can now buy, it still has the smallest bezel which for me is a winner.
Great price for a good tab but the question is when will the uk get the ics update..
Hi, I picked my Xoom up from Argos for £220 and that was before Christmas.
Also had a nice case from Amazon for £10, fits a treat and tablet performs great. J ust waiting now for OTA update to ICS and job done.
Bargain for sure
This is a bargain, ICS is great, no need to wait for the OTA, goto the US version of 3.2.1 and await the push

Ordered mine last week, should be with me tomorrow hopefully. While there may be newer tablets on the market at the moment, the price of the xoom and the incredible support being offered on this forum make the xoom the clear choice.
My sister just got one from carphone warehouse, she had been looking at one for a while, she just wants it for reading stuff online, so tegra 2 more than powerful enough for her. At £250 with ICS on its way it's too good to leave. If I didn't have the eee pad transformer and hp touchpad I would have considered getting one to play with

Cheap offer for Galaxy tab 7.7 £349

Cheapest price I have seen for a 3g model

Apparently around 100 left in their warehouse a friend has told me

Fantastic price for an official UK model with 3G! I paid just over £400 quid for a grey market import a few months ago and I considered it a bargain.
I guess that the popularity of the Nexus 7 is driving prices down. Personally, aside from OS support issues, I think that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is worth paying extra for.
Having 3G is a real boon on a really portable (pocketable even) tablet like the 7.7.
No, wait for Nexus 7..... I'll sell my 7.7 for N7 definitely

The price of HK version P6800 is dropped way below this, well, in Hong Kong. Anyway it would still be nice to see it goes down to the acceptable price level.

I don't want to change the subject too much, but as an owner of the nexus 7 myself. I can't see how anyone compares it with a 7.7. The 7.7 is in a different class. The nexus is not great using it in landscape, lack of 3g, lack of a SD card, lack of a rear camera. Smaller screen but tab almost as big, with a large bezel . Screen colours don't compare. Its also lot thicker. List goes on...
A great tab on a budget but no comparison to a 7.7

That sounds like a good price I spent over $600 US at the beginning of the year. I would go for it, I don't see anything coming out with the specs of the 7.7. Well there is the rumor of the iPad Mini, I posted a thread with different articles on 7 inch tabs (neither mention the 7.7) but it's a good way to read up on the specs of all those tabs and them compare to the 7.7. Hope this helps you on the decision.

just bought a 16gb 3G from Carphonewarehouse. £350 is still a little steep I think but its to replace a Nexus 7
hmm perhaps a successor is coming if there is such a price drop?
Got the tab yesterday and it's running honeycomb with no update to ics available :/

uhh... dude, read the forums. ics has been available since july---unless ur NOT gonna root--- =D
apple has an EU-wide injunction on this thing so don't expect any more "official" ICS rollouts. also vheck ur tab for the emmc-cap-erase bug before you upgrade.

If there will be any updates it won't be to ICS but to Jelly bean, the device is still on sale in different parts of the world, and the fact it is banned for sale doesn't mean software update cannot go ahead still.
Is there any place I can still get this for a good price?
Laptops direct have the 32gb wifi version for £239.
Hoping to get the P6800 3G model...

I bought mine about a month ago from Laptops Direct for £230, seems the price has gone back up now though, probably worth watching in case it goes back down.
