[Q] Keeps turning off when battery reaches 100% charged - Blade General

My father's Orange San Francisco with CyanogenMod 7.0.2 keeps turning off when battery reaches 100% charged and the only way to get it back on is to pull the battery.
This has happened with CyanogenMod 7 (various RC builds), 7.0.0 and 7.0.2.
Any ideas?

HD2 Screen "active" while in sleep. may be reason why battery dies so fast. (video)
i have noticed that the screen is active while supposely it is on "sleep" i noticed this only on light as you see the video. i was cleaning my HD2 and saw that. i think this may be the reason why battery may discharge so fast and phone may over heat. devs. please look into this. i am on energy july 14 21911 titanium, froyo build. latest zimage.
take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7akMTC8KTA
Huh, the latest zImage fixed that particular problem for me.
Energy Rom - Cookie's Build.
hmm idk then, i overwrite it and see if it still presist. may you share your zimage? just incase its diff. thanks.
The latest zImage the PANEL_ON_OFF 7/25 doesn't work for me. It gives me the SOD.

The latest (July 25) zImage also works for me, no problem at all. I am running Desire V5 build.
An overnight battery discharge was 40% in 7.5 hours.

Do you notice less battery drain with the new zImage?

Actually, the first couple of times you turn the screen back on, it takes a few seconds to show the lock screen...

Guys I only had 8% discharge in 8 hours last night only phone funtction working (WiFi/data off). FroYo V1 with latest zImage from Cotulla. I think that you have to manually set screen brightness. We had the same problem in the ported Desire builds and that was the culprit

So does anyone know why some of us are having SOD and others are not with latest zimage ???
I tested latest ON/OFF PANEL zImage with Desire v5 and Froyo Sense PR1. With desire works fine, only android freeze for short time sometimes (maybe too often), but still works. But with Froyo Sense PR1 don't, it freeze completely. And I think that booth Androids works most slow. Froyo is unustable, too much slow, but it was slow also with older version of zImage. I thinked that Froyo will be faster.
Ditto..... I have SOD with new zimage. energy rom, desire v5.

Battery have strange issue

Hi guys, from about five days my battery seem to work normally, it reaches 100 % when I charge it but when it arrive at 7 / 10 % the phone shut down with no battery. Is it my battery problem or may be I don't know a kernel / rom problem?
Thanks

Update!
This morning windows and android show me the same battery status: 20% left.
I shut down the phone pull out the battery then I start- up the phone and now windows and android show me only 8% left.
again... This can be a battery problem or something others?
Thanks

Sport, as already stated by Thatruth, its an issue with the builds right now, battery isnt fully finished yet and levels will probably be read differently in winmo and android. My own battery will only charge to 97% in Android (Mattc 1.5b) and charges perfectly in winmo (VBN Black RC6.2).
Calm down......

Battery indicator on 2.3.4

Hi everyone. I just restart my phone and before I did my battery was at 82% per circle battery widget but when it started again the battery is listed at 100%. That's both on circle battery widget and the battery indicator.
Is this a know problem? I just don't know what my actual battery left is now.

Yes it's a known issue. What ROM are you on?
Posted from my unlocked, rooted, & de-bloated Motorola Atrix (Olympus) running 2.3.4 Gingerbread dosed up on Dorian's RedPill v2 using the XDA App.

That fixed the jumping issue for me. The current version will cause the Battery & Data Manager to FC though. Still waiting on the deodexed files to be released to clear that up...
Thanks for this info. I installed the zip and will see if there's a difference.

It would be nice to track a real fix here in this thread.
I only saw this issue once. I use an aftermarket battery from Seidio, and I've NEVER gotten it to calibrate correctly... Not in 2.2, and now not in 2.3...
I've tried all the "Charge it to 100, then CWM, clear battery..." suggestions, but the second I pull it off the charger it drops to 95%.

Maybe the battery is getting too weak for the flash. Try turning the phone off and leaving it on the charger overnight. :fingers-crossed:
That issue is probably battery related. Try with a more recent / new battery and see if problem persists.
change the battery. . Issue will be solved. . . . . .
100% sure . , .
This has happened to me when I was on stock Froyo (a year ago when I got my Inspire), on stock GB, on Android Revolution HD Rom, on CoreDroid Rom, on aospX ICS Rom, and on my actual Rom, Project X. This is very random, might happen ones a week or once a month, but I've noticed every time it happens my battery is below 50%. Last time it happened (4 days ago) it was on 39%. I think it might be a battery issue.

No, as far as I can tell it only happens when taking a picture with flash on and being below 50% battery.
Known problem, had this since I got this phone on every ROM...

[Q] Battery drains very quickily, charges very slowly

My Nook is suddenly taking about 12+ hours to charge, with the OEM cable and plug. I couldn't get it to charge at all at first. I did finally get it fully charged, and it instantly jumped from 78% battery power to 30%. I had tried to clear the battery thing in recovery mode, which might have made things worse.
It doesn't appear to be going into sleep mode, either, as after the 30% jump, I turned off the screen, and the next morning, it was completely drained. Am I looking at a dying battery?
Using one of the latest CM7 nightlies. The problems started after a few weeks of it working fine with the new ROM.
How old is your nook and is it one of the version 1 or version 2 releases?...I had a version 1 doing the exact same thing. Luckly I was still under Warranty and was able to get a replacement, which is the version that was released mid may of 2011 I think. And it had the 5gb data 1 gb media partition...its bwwn working fine and I'm running the cm 7.2 kang w/ mirage kernel.

Let it completely discharge (screen shuts off and Nook is non-responsive) and then charge it up fully. Any battery problems come after flashing and this method always fixes things.
