[Q] After ManualNooter 4.5.2: Expunging Facebook - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Last night I finally got the NC running a rooted 1.2.0 via ManualNooter 4.5.2. Android Marketplace has some weird force-close issues when installing stuff, but it seems reasonably well behaved so far.
It seems that ManualNooter pre-installs the Facebook app for you. I trust Facebook about as far as I can throw a cheesecake underwater, and I will not have the thing in my NC. Yet when I try to drag the app to the trash (like every other app I've downloaded and decided not to keep), it says, "Uninstall failed."
How do I remove all traces of Facebook from my NC?

market.google.com updated...

Allows you to manage APP installed via the website and have them pushed to your Android devices. Not sure if anyone has looked at it yet.
Im on Bonsai ROM with Market version 2.2.11 and its not working for me. The website finds my Epic but apps don't get pushed to my phone when I click install. Is there a newer version I need?
I havent I'm not by a computer but I'm interested though....
Is it like the app store on itunes?
I'm tired of updating my phone and not having acess to certain apps
This would take all the pain away!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Worked for me, but I'm on stock.
Wasn't that one of the features of Gingerbread? It thought they mentioned that at the Froyo push last year.
They actually first showed this off last year at the Froyo event.
Getting SERVER NOT FOUND error?
I was able to use this today successfully. I remotely installed 3 apps, with absolutely no problems. It recognized all the programs already on my phone.
I'm on Nebula 1.0.7, so stock is not required
I'm on ViperROM 4.0.2c and am able to use it. The thing I like the most about it is that it has kept track of all the applications I've installed (which isn't the case when I flash my ROM). So I can reinstall the APPs throught he market. (yes the market keeps track of my purchased APPs, just not the rest of them via the phone.
It also makes installing the same APPs to multiple devices at the same time via the same Google account very easy.
I am on Quantom 2.7 and the website just doesn't see my phone at all. Wonderful.
are you guys just going to market.google.com??? I can't get to it from my computers.

Google the term "market"
Thank you.
And for anyone else reading this, the correct website is:
https://market.android.com/
I'm running Nebula and when I go to the web market, all of my apps that I've downloaded are there, but it won't recognize my epic. Anyone else found a fix for this?
Works on the current nightly of Cyanogenmod 6.
Shows the list of currently installed applications, and the instant I told it to add Angry Birds (not that I'm interested) my phone began the download.
Awesome.
Combined with the way all apps reinstall after a new flash, I should not need to use the crappy on-phone application again!

Well, I just flashed to a new ROM and am now once again having trouble with the sync.
My market.android.com list shows like 20+ applications, but Bonsai ROM downloaded 2 and acts like it is done. I'm going to have to go down the list and search for each of them now. Or maybe I'll try the same from market.android.com
EDIT it's working, but the list of installed apps on the phone's Market won't even update...
Time to say "goodbye" to appbrain. Finally.
Oh nice
Thanks for the tip. I was able to use my computer to browse the market and it was able to see my installed apps ok. I am running stock DI18.
Darkk
Says no phone associated with my account even though I can see my market history. I'll chalk it up ito being a new service and not fully up and running yet.

[Q] Google+ Updates For Android

I have had a problem updating the Android Google+ app on my stock, rooted EVO. This has been going on for the past two months or so.
All attempts to install updates fail. I have to un-install the app and install new from the Market.
Sometimes this happens with other Google apps as well, like Maps, Docs, etc.
Other apps (from other venders) install fine.
Also, there used to be a Google+ widget, but the past two updates seem to have eliminated them. anyone else notice that?

[Q] Apps On Rooted Stock Nook Color

Hey guys, I've got a bit of a problem for y'all:
After quite literally years of moving from rom to rom (I got the Nook Color less then 2 weeks after it came out), I today decided that I wanted to return to the most recent stock rom. So, after resetting my device, and updating to stock 1.4.1, I used manualnooter to root my device, and began to install apps using google play. Now it's been a long time since I've used stock, but last I remember any apps you installed via sideload or the market would show up in the nook home app drawer after a reboot. However, this is no longer happening...
I can only presume that with one of their more recent updates B&N have decided to lock down their device for users on stock, and in doing so have made the app drawer only show apps from their store.
So the question I pose is, do any of you know a way around this? Or will i have to use a 3rd party launcher to access google play apps?
Thanks.
The only way I know of involves manually editing the xml file... best solution is to use 3rd party launcher when you want to use the other apps.

If you are still on 1.4.1, you can use an app called App Manager and it will integrate that into the stock launcher. Only two problems, the author has pulled the app from Play Store and it is hard to find. And if you upgrade your rom to 1.4.3, it no longer works. The author is Hari Swaminathan. Try searching the web for the app.
Wait, I just uploaded it.

Noob question about google play store
Hi...I'm a bit of a noob and I don't mean to interrupt this thread. I have a kind of the same problem. I'm running a nook color with Autonooter 1.0.1. I only installed this to get google play. However, I am unable to download the apps. I've been reading the forums and it seems that CM10 (jellybean?) would be my best bet. Is this correct? Also, is the process like manual nooter? Thanks!

[Q] Market Installs Stopped Working

Hey guys, I have a NSTG (1.2.1) thats rooted with NookManager, setup Gapps, installed Search Market, etc. Everything was working great after initial setup. I didn't use the Nook for a couple months after that but picked it back up recently and had some problesm: Dropbox would give a fatal error when attempting to sync, apps would not install via Search Market or from a push from the Play store website even though the device did show up on the list.
I was able to resolve some of the issues (Dropbox) when I realized I was being stupid and just had no space on the SD card because it was still formatted for NookManager and repartitioned it but the Market installs still do not work at all. Search Market shows results and I get to the point where I accept permissions and then a notification bubble appears in the status bar of the Nook and immediately disappears. Push from Play store site does nothing. I'd really rather not have to restore from backup/reroot/etc. Anyone seen similar issues? Thanks!
Usually a logcat will tell you exactly what the problem is.
Thanks, I'll post one soon. I'm on vacation right now and only have my MacBook, not sure how to get a logcat at the moment....

I'm having exactly the same issue and it's really annoying. Went to download Opera Mobile and a File Manager today but nothing downloads. If you go to 'My Apps' in the market they show as 'downloading' but nothing is actually happening.
Wonder if our access has been blocked?
I solved this problem, delete market data with titanium.
Thanks will give that a go tonight!

I'm going to sideload Titanium tonight and give this a go. Going to feel really stupid if that's all it is! I'll report back...
EDIT: Okay, I installed Titanium last night and wiped the Market app data, but had no change in behavior. Finding an app through Search Market then attempting to install does the same thing: notification bubble appears in the Nook status bar but then immediately disappears...

[HELP] Camera not installed on KitKat!!!

Hello,
I'm having a major problem when loading the camera on the main user. It simply crashes...
Let me just explain better the problem and the background situation.
My wife has a N7 2013 that I offered her on her birthday. She is the main user. I also use her nexus so I'm the secondary user.
When I try to launch camera on her user, it simply crashes... Needless to say that I already clean app's data and so on...
When kitkat was released, I grab some of the the apk of several applications that were leaked, hangouts, keyboard, camera/gallery, etc... and upgrade those apps over my user account... I tried them all and all run fine on my user... as I knew that if I installed an app over my user account, that app instantanely is updated (if installed) on the main user account. So I never tested all those apps upgrades...
After that, Kitkat came to N7 and I sideloaded it. A few days ago it updated to the last version via OTA.
Yesterday I was testing something over my wife's user and by accidentally I found out the Camera just wont work!!! It crashes immediately when launched. Going to the Application Manager, on the all app tab, I discovered that the camera app was there but was marked as "Not Installed" down the bottom list.
I tried several things, cleared app settings, installed again from taking the apk from /system/app, nothing...
Also gallery was crashing but I think after I installed the apk from /system/app and worked again.
The other apps (that came with kitkat) work fine and are installed
Is there a way, without factory reset Nexus, to get back Camera on my wife user ?? Any adb command??
