This is really a great help for me to update my Acer Liquid.Thanks again..
This is a simple shell script (written on a mac, don't think it will work on windows... somebody feel free to prove me wrong?) which has many options, such as flashing a boot splash image, a boot animation, changing the fonts, running an adblock script, etc.
It was written because everytime i flash an update of KaosFroyo, i had to manually go remove all the apps i didn't want, reflash my boot animation, push my eri file, run the adblock script, and i was kinda tired of it... so thus we have BackToBasics v0.4 (versions 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 were local and be glad you missed them)
So please feel free to give it a try and provide lots of feedback!

Few things to think about:
Automatically reboot the phone after flashing bootanimation, fonts, eri, or adblock rather than having to do it manually?
Anything broken, or a better way to do something?
Good job. Some parts seem to be personal customizations, but it would be a good starting point for someone else wanting to do similar things. If you had the inclination, you could expand this into a more general 'app'.
Thank you for putting it out here. I would love to see more people post their home made scripts and such. No need to reinvent the wheel so often, you know.

Good idea give people the option to create their own customizations

it is a bit of a personal thing, but i figured, what the hell, it's pretty open to be changed by anybody else, and things can be added, and the scripts can all be changed, but it's a base point to start with. I do intend to keep expanding the script and making it a much broader script for use in many more situations.
This is BARELY BLURRED by toxigenicpoem, which was J_r0dd's Beta 8 and a port of JaiThemes - DarkCherry with a little twist of things I did and added in some new photoshop images. I also added the Duck Hunt booanimation.img posted by alb3rt0 and the a2sd boot.img from J-r0dd's beta 8 Rom. Hope you like..

Follow the install below.....
WIPE-Everything..
PLEASE FOLLOW STEPS FOR BEST RESULTS..
To install:
1) Do a Nan back-up
2) Download & Place the .zip file on your sd card and boot into recovery.
3) Flash the .zip file and when finished, reboot.
4) After you log into Blur and Google, let everything sync until the Red Half Circle Arrow in the notification window is gone. While thats is syncing, I would go into settings and change the Orientation to OFF and the Animation to OFF.
5) In Gscripts, run the Enable Apps2SD and when that is finished, reboot.
6) After reboot go back into Gscripts and run the Move Dalvik-cache to SD and then the phone will reboot.
7) Done have fun and hope you like what i have done so far.
8) To turn on the sound effect for pressing the screen, go into settings, sounds & displays, scroll down to Audible selection and check the box, then exit back to home screen. You should now a Click sound when pressing the screen.
****If you like the Font in the Picture, you can download it here and flash it in recovery over the Rom.***

First off and foremost I would like to thank Aleksandar Despotovski and frostgp93 for helping me so much with the boot animations. Their videos are of course on Youtube
I would love to praise ath3nos, BobZhome, drewwalton19216801, JerryScript, KemikalElite, Mrg666, and Pbailey212. Also the xda-community. I don't know you yet but I hope to start a new friendship
the 2nd zip file is for the audio. I didn't create it! It's by Backside/CyanogenMod7 creators - their link is androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/378525-rom-wip-backside-rom-cm7-green-machine-theme for the original sound saying 'this phone will self-destruct in five seconds.'
I just switched the audio file with the one from the animation.
IMPORTANT -maybe...
What I did is place the boot animation inside rom/system/media - delete the old one of course - IF this works for you by flashing -
well {WOOP-WOOP 'cop siren'}
after wiping cache and dalvik cache - flash rom with new boot animation than flash bootsound than reboot and enjoy
If you'd like it say your theater / not say anything at all the end just let me know I'll make a new audio. PM me though, no Demanding please.

I have a digital advertising networking running almost 2,000 Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Honeycomb 3.2) ROOTED. I'd like offer $1000 to anyone who can write an executable script that allows you to download it onto the tablet run it and it will execute the steps required to replace the boot animation with one we custom created.
Samsung uses a proprietary format for the boot animation and I have not figured out how to create one and do not have the time to automate the process even if I did figure out how to create the file format required.
If interested, please email me @ [email protected] with proposed approach on how to do this and we can take it from there.
