I want to preorder it at best buy, but Sprint said I get an upgrade this year, plus that $100 rebate i didnt get back instantly last year and had to wait a year cause my credit was crap lol
What does your sprint upgrade eligibility have to do with preordering at BB?

I'm wondering if I can use my upgrade at best buy.. I'm guessing i can because I don't want to deal with the mail in rebate... :/ whats also cool about best buy, is when you sign up with sprint through them, they instantly give you an upgrade. I got my hero in Nov and have had that little $150 upgrade thing on MySprint this whole time just thought I inform the uniformed. I'm going morning of June 4th and getting this beast btw. do you think there will be a line?

Looks like I'm be going to BestBuy to pre-order today
I would love to preorder my main concern if I do it through BestBuy is will Sprint still give me the credits that I'm getting now. For example, I get $20 credit a month plus 15% discount. Those are big credits to me. My bill goes from $89.99 (before taxes and fees) to $70 after all taxes and fees. I would hate to loss those.

you will get everything your contract has now . ive upgrades 3 times at BB and never had any troubles .

I went to BB today to preorder my phone. I'm a Sprint Premier customer and my 12m date was June 11th. The sales person looked up my account and said I'm eligible as of June 1st. Fantastic timing!
Well I won't qualify for the $150 upgrade credit because I used it for the Hero. But at least I can get the $100 rebate up front. So I'll be paying $350 for my Evo.

You might want to check with them again because one the sales reps said it would be 599.99 retail price from best buy.

well the first best buy I went was sold out so I just went to another and said F**K it and money is not an issue.
You do realize that the group of numbers right below the Val number is the transaction number? Which means any best buy employee can go print a duplicate receipt and claim it as their own? Just an FYI.
By the way, I totally pre-ordered my EVO. Can't wait for it!

EDIT: OK, I found the thread on Android Forums where some guy claims he had supposed phone conversations with 3 different BB employees at 3 different BB stores and that they all said $600. I'm sorry, I just don't believe it! Even if it is true (which I doubt) I can easily cash in my $50 BB gift card and walk 100 yards to the Sprint store to buy it for $450.
Are you sure that guy doesn't work for Sprint or Radio Shack?

OK, I take it back. I was just made aware of the fact that Best Buy is charging $599 for unsubsidized Heros.
Sprint only only charges $429.
I also just noticed (in the fine print) that the $50 Best Buy gift card is NOT redeemable for cash.

I ask because I just made my preorder today at BB and realized afterward they will steal $150 from me (it's not stealing, it's Capitalism which I'm all for, it still sucks though) and want to avoid that if at all possible.

I made the stupid mistake of creating $300 in gift cards to help budget for this. If I get stuck having to pay another 300 there will be problems. They're going to adjust my price or refund my money.
As I understand it, you can use the gift card towards the price of the phone. Just pre-ordered mine today too.

I went in and they instantly gave me cash (paid with debit). I'm sure that you'd be fine getting a refund all the way until June. Just tell them that you don't want a marked up phone, and they hadn't released the price when you paid.

on the yellow bestbuy mobile receipt at the bottom right box where it says "best number and time to contact you" the sales rep wrote down "when phone release june 5th".very weird.

at sprint we are only taking new accounts and upgrades no outright purchases from what i was told. and i heard radioshack is doing the same.
Just got back from my local Sprint store and was assured that I could purchase for full retail. $475 after tax. I just have to get there when they open at 7 on the 4th.

would be quite dissapointing if you get there and thats not true. us employees in florida have a evo meeting on the 28th to tell us how its going down, so im sticking with that.
I can't see sprint telling people I don't want upfront $450+ from anyone because I would rather sell it for $199.
i can see them saying hey i rather not sell it to you because your stuck on contract with us anyways, and say hey i want you guys to upgrade and stay with us and hey i want new customers.

Well 3 employees, including the manager, all confirmed it, so I'm pretty confident. I would make a scene if they refused to sell it to me after telling me to my face that they would, and since I've been with them for 8 years, so I think I would get my phone instantly.
At Radioshack you definitely can buy it outright. It is $499.99, but there is a trade in program, so you can bring in your old phone and put that trade in toward the purchase, making it cheaper than a Sprint corporate store.

I'm selling my Hero on eBay, where I will get about $200 for it. RadioShack will give you about $85. Tough choice.
i got my evo preorder from a radioshack manager who gave me his word he will refund my deposit if the radio shack full retail price is more than the sprint price. he even wrote it down and signed it, and said he would be there on june 4.
i will bring a copy of the sprint evo flier in on june 4, hopefully i can just get him to price match.

Those of us buying the phone for full retail already have Sprint contracts but are not eligible for upgrades at the time of the EVO's release.

Does anybody know if Sprint's $449.00 or so Full Retail Price is the same at Best Buy? Or is it higher?
The Best Buy full retail is $600. RadioShack is $500.
Best Buy told me that they will not price match it.

I have a feeling that I will not find a sprint store that will sell it off- contract right away or they are out of stock. So I hope I can order it from sprint's website and have it overnighted to my house.

My local Sprint store told me that they would have no problem selling it to me at full-retail (since I wasn't eligible for a full upgrade), but I ended up getting an I/O EVO.

I was shocked too and didn't want to believe it at first. I went to the Best Buy where I had pre-ordered and asked. they told me it would be somewhere between $600-$700 full price.
The good news is that you should be able to get a refund. I was able to, after I told them that I had since found out that I was not eligible for an upgrade.
If you want to pre-order at Radio Shack you had better hurry (if you're in a big city) because they are sold out of pre-order gift cards here in Austin.
I've decided to get in line at the Sprint store. Verrrrrry early in the morning, if not the night before!

Thanks! The Best Buy thing surprised me too, but after I found out that they still charge $600 for the Hero and $630 for the Moment it quickly became obvious. For anyone wondering, they will give you a full refund. Just go in and tell them that you didn't know they were going to mark up the price when you pre-ordered. I paid with debit, and they gave me back my full $50+tax in cash.
Lets use this thread to post when your Note 4 gets shipped. I pre ordered mine with Verizon online on 9/19 and according to the invoice I got it is supposed to ship by Oct 23.

Mine also said the 23rd. But I can't see BB releasing on the 17 th and verizon not doing the same thing.
We all know Big V would rather ship early then change the date and end up being late.

Sorry if there was a misunderstanding on my part, but this is after trading in a working smartphone. This is the order I was told I should do it:
1. Preorder(get's you a $50 giftcard as well) the Note 4 within the specific time range(9/19/14-10/16/14)
2. On release day, bring in your trade-in and go through the process of getting the gift card for it.
3. Use both giftcards to buy the Note 4(of course you pay the difference if there's anything left over which there should be)

Since mine was ordered at Verizon, I had to spend $50 on a droid razr on Swappa, which is worth $15 trade in, so I will net $150, not ideal, but gets me half off.

Yeah at BB, they are giving the full $200 for ANY WORKING(no cracked screens, no water damage, etc) smartphone.
