[Q] Rooting 2.2 - Bravo General

Hi everyone,
I can't seem to root my bravo, now that I've updated. I tried through ADB, SuperOneClick, and z4root, but with no luck.
What did you use to root?
Thanks

Use SuperOneClick and make sure you have the psneuter option selected NOT rageagainstthecage.
which version are you using and what are the errors you received (if any)?

Thank you, I didn't realize I was using a very old version of SuperOneClick. Everything is fine now.

http://www.unrevoked.com/. Read ALL the way through, then download and follow the directions exactly. Also you will probably need to install the correct driver on your PC, which is also provided by unrevoked.

Best way to root on 2.2.1

hi guys
Been looking for a easy way to root a nexus 1 on 2.2.1 (FRG83D)
Dont care about the boot loader as i have already unlocked that.
What is the easiest/best way to root it as i understand that 1 click root no longer works.
Any help would be great
Here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
As your bootloader is unlocked just flash a custom recovery, then use that to install the SU binaries.
Can't fail.
If the above isn't enough - read my signature and look there for answers.

Where did you read this?
I'm curious since I used 1 click root (SuperOneClick) on 2.2.1 just a few days ago
So where did you hear that you can't use 1 click root?

Go ahead and try it first with out factory resetting. If it doesn't work then you'll need to factory reset. I'm sure you'll be fine with out doing it though.
thanks going to try this, do i need to unlock the sim though? and flash the bootloader?

No the SIM is optional. But I would highly suggest the bootloader. Especially if you're going to be flashing ROM's and kernels.

That's odd. I wonder why root isn't sticking. You might have to try and factory reset and start from scratch.

Well the first question is... Were you rooted before receiving update? Is your phone S=off, what bootloader version do you have?
Quick answer to if you werent rooted before OTA, then no root is available at this time.

[Q] Atrix 4g. Any help would be appreciated!!!

First off im not a noob. i have/had a nexus s; captivate, att sgs2 all rooted flashed and the sort. my wifes atrix 4g is a mystery. it could be because i havent spent as much time with it as the other phones but anyway heres the prob: when she got her phone it was running either 2.2 or 2.2.xx cant remember but i rooted it using gingerbreak. then she did the gingerbread update on top of the root. here is the problem. the phone still has the supersuser app and looks like its rooted but its not. how do i remove all of the the components of the root then reroot? theres nothing wrong with the phone it works fine no problems whatsoever. a lil info any advanced users could use: system version 4.5.91.mb860.att.en.us running 2.3.4 kernel 2.6.32.9-00001-g41bc3e0 [email protected]#2 build# 4.5.91
any help will be appreciated. ill try to check this tread as often as i can. we just had a newborn 3 weeks ago and a 2yr old running around as well as working full time. feel free to send a pm with any question r possible solutions. thx

What makes you think its not rooted?
In any case, try "re-rooting" using the info in this thread.
Any app that requires root permissions says its not rooted. ill try that and see what happens. thx
