I searched but couldn't find anyone else with YouTube problems. I installed cm7 with daligrens nightly kernel, and installed the YouTube app. App opens fine but the videos wont play. The error message displayed is "there was a problem while playing. Touch to retry"
I tried reinstalling the app, but didn't work. Any ideas? ??

I'm having the same issues. I've tried uninstall/reinstall, reflashing CM7, even trying to open youtube in different browsers. Everything keeps coming back to "cannot play video. touch to retry."
Anyone with an idea on how to fix this would be great.
Which Flash player have U installed?
I am sure this is the problem.
Remove the one U have and try this

i did tryed your adobe app, and also downloaded smartflash, rebooted, tryed different browsers and nothing...

Is anyone getting an error message with the Soundcloud app, ive tried it with 2 different builds and uninstalled and downloaded it again but it's not working?

Problem seems to be resolved, there was an update in the market today so i downloaded that,rebooted and it now works when i tried via Wi-Fi.
I've been using the Comixology and DC Comics app for a while but tried to use them last week and it force closes upon opening. I tried rebooting, fixing permissions, and even tried a different ROM (I was on Primee, then tried Byakhee, then back to Primee now), and nothing, still the same issue. I also tried Princess Punt (a game) and that's force closing also, don't know if its a related problem. Any ideas?

try to wipe the data for the app, if that doesnt work than its just the rom. some custom roms have this issue.
I'll try wiping the data, but I've tried to uninstall/reinstall, and I've used it before on this ROM. Maybe some kind of incompatibility with an app update with the two ROMs I tried it on. I installed an older version I found online and it seems to work for now. Thanks though.

After flshing CM9 nightly i couldnt download any app from the market.
tried via wifi as well as mobile data but ain working.
Rest everything works like the web browser, market opens and gmail, gtalk everything but when i try to download any app via playstore it gets stuck on "Downloading" for hours and nothing happens.
Please help.
Tried Flashing both quarx as well as epsylon.
Also did data wipe but no luck.

what if you install from play store using a web browser? Does that works?
Anytime I try using the Youtube app I get the following errors, at first it says 'action not allowed' then when I try to play any video it says 'unsupported video format'. But Youtube on Chrome works fine. I've tried a hard reset, uninstalling the update and then reinstalling. Can anyone thing of any other ideas?

Are you using a stock rom,is your device rooted? When did this start?If on a custom rom which one?
No I am not rooted and this has been happening since I got the phone.
Hello! I am on pure Kitkat 4.4.2 with franco.kernel and have installed some mods via Xposed Installer. Problem is that my Youtube app doesnt work. Everytime I try to start Youtube app, it gives me an error "Unfortunately, Youtube has stopped". This is exactly the same problem I am facing in my Nexus 5 with the same ver of Kitkat and Franco Kernel and mods. I have tried uninstalling Youtube via Titanium Backup and reinstalling a fresh copy from Play but the problem is still there.
Now is this a problem with the Kernel or have I messed up something else. Please help.

I read on the Franco N5 forum the issue you are describing can occur is you use the Xposed YouTube add blocker module. It has something to do with a YouTube update and the module being incompatible. If you use that module turn it off reboot and try YouTube again.
