That's unfortunate. I would love to have an overclocked HC kernel .

Overclock on GB

The dx/d2 overclock app seems to work just fine on the rooted GB leak. I know some of you were wondering about overclocking.

That's cause jrummy is the man. He updated the app right after GB was released.

Yup.
Now I wonder if the smartass governor modules will work with the new kernel, and if not if someone can make it compatible.

Getting a500 today

Hello, I am new to tablets but not new to rooting. I currently have an HTC mecha which I rooted. So when I root my Acer can I overclock it and what are some must have files for it? Any warnings or advice before i root.Thx, oh yea does the Acer have GPS?

With the right kernel, a rooted tablet can be overclocked. Setcpu is a very useful tool for this.

Which kernel would you recommend for someone using the Lightspeed 4.2 ROM?

I don't use Lightspeed, so i don't know. I'm using the Thor Rom 14.2 (HC 3.2.1), with Thor Kernel 3.9r4. It's a good combo.

RTripps 3.7 kernel should be ok. Actually, the 3.4 is good also. 3.7, well... it's ok.
Just depends on what you want.
Drellsidees kernel is ok also.

I have the same question. I just installed civato's ics rom and it is great, but there is no overclocking abilities with setcpu. Is that due to the kernel? I have kernel 2.6.39.4+.
I have been using Taboonay 3.0.1. Right now most ICS roms are based off of the stock, but i am not sure if any allow for OC. I used Taboonay 2.2 as it comes with tools to be able to OC. That being said, I feel as if Taboonay 3.0.1 is as fast as the OC I did in the 2.2 version. I haven't even though of OC'ing as I have not noticed any need to.

Failed to answer your GPS question. Yes, the A500 has GPS, but I would recommend modifying the GPS.CONFIG file to reflect a smaller spectrum for satellites to use. It comes with the North American grouping, but you can change this to focus on the US grouping. This has helped me getting faster locks. I usually see about 7 or 8 satellites with locks on at least 6. You can use GPS Test found in the Play market to see satellite information.
Thanks for the replies. I have no desires for kernel/rom/etc/. I am just enjoying the roms and all the incredible work the devs do here. I was looking for guidance in terms of something for me to play with.
I'll give Thor's suite a shot.
Thor's v126 has some bugs but he is actively working on it. I'm using v96 and it works great... I OC with setcpu. Only issue is the cameras don't work.

Yes...abyss if GB and Goku if ICS....sorry for shortening it...
i use Goku Kernel with GoA Rom, perfect match..
Goku kernel is based on speed mod's kernel with more tweaks in it..
Thanks for all of your recommendations! Does anyone know how to flash the Goku Kernel without the use of Mobile Odin?

I'm looking for a kernel with bln working on the rom I use...
I know I can have bln on my phone using another rom, but I really prefer using LiquidSmooth 2.3

He is referring to a kernel but since the "dev" does not post his source it is not allowed to be posted here.

That kernel should have loopback, if you are meaning /dev/loop devices . If you mean something else please explain what you mean by loopback.
