AC Charger gets very HOT - Eee Pad Transformer General

Hey,
My AC Charger gets very hot, after 10minutes it starts smelling.
Does anyone else have his problem?
Could I get a replace?
Thanks

[Q] SGS4 getting real hot when wireless charging. Is it normal?

I have a GT-i9500 with an after market Qi receiver and Qi charging pad (1000mA). The phone gets really hot to touch when wireless charging it? Is it normal?
I understand how inductive charging works and that it should get warm; however I have the feeling that it is too much. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Greetings from Costa Rica.

As long as it cools down after it's fully charged while still on the charging pad everything is OK.
Once the phone is fully charged it should be more or less room temperature whether it's on the
charging pad or connected to the usb cable charger.
Good luck!

Thanks man, I guess I was just concerned about how hot should it get while charging. Yes it cools down once it is charged, so I guess I am all OK and have nothing to worry about. :good:

the charger

Hi guys, whenever I plug my phone into the charger, the charger starts to make sounds like zzzz and ttzztztz like some weird sounds. is there anything wrong ? anyone is having the some thing ? im afraid the will harm or have harmed my battery
That's definitely not normal behaviour. Might be a grounding problem or a bad charger.
Did you try plugging it into another wall socket and see if it makes the same buzzing sound?

No, it's not normal. Mine doesn't do that. No charger i've ever had buzzed while charging.
"All lg charger has trafo inside it"..what does this mean anyway?

Not sure, but i ask LG technician.
LG charger has dynamo inside it
Wrong. Its not trafo or dynamo thats causing the sound. Its because the charger is kharab. You can fix it by buying a new charger.

Defective device

Screen won't get past boot animation for over 45 minutes. Waiting for a supervisor to call me in the AM.
Not a good first impression.
So they're sending a new replacement. They will be emailing me a shipping label by tomorrow morning and hopefully sending out the replacement 2 day UPS. Let's see if the 2nd one works.
Must be frustrating! I hope your replacement works out better.
This is exactly what happened with mine, it wouldn't charge either.

I believe this is my first phone that had an issue straight out of the box. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Never got that far. While I had it plugged in, I have no idea if it was charging.

If you boot into the bootloader and power off, while it's powered off plug it in and it'll show the charging animation. I left mine plugged in all night and it never fully charged itself.

My phone is being exposed to -20 Degrees Celcius during shipping. Some questions.

Is there any way to know if the battery is ok after receiving the device? should i let it warm up normally by sitting in room temperature? and should i fully chard my device before using it?

Yes let it come to room temp. If you plug it in that cold something is bound to crack lol. As long as the battery takes and holds a charge afterwards it should be OK. You don't have to fully charge before using though. That's for the old Nickel batteries. Lithium does not need pre charging.

Like if it says 100 and then you take it off the charger, set it down, and come back to see it almost dead in short period of time.
Battery will be fine... LiPo batts won't freeze until about -40. Just let it get to room temperature before using it.
Lol i use mine outside in - 35 on the daily.

Charging bug?

The turbo charger that came with my G4 charges the phone pretty quickly from whatever percentage it's on when I plug it in up to like 75%, then from that to 100% it might take up to two hours! This started happening recently. I remember it used to charge all the way at the same rate, and the phone used to get a bit hot, now the phone stays dead cold. Anyone having the same problem or is it just me?

Pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work. Once it gets up to a certain point, it slows down so as not to ruin the battery.

But it slows down so much to charge 20% in like 3 hours? I was thinking maybe the charger was faulty. I've ordered a new quick charger from Amazon.

That is the way it's supposed to work. It will only quick charge part of the way. I've never actually timed mine so I don't know if it takes that long for the final part or not.
