I'm probably going to buy my Transformer from amazon.co.uk within a few weeks, but there's something I'm not quite sure about. Light bleeding issues seem to be rather common in Transformers, and if I get a faulty unit like this, will it be possible to get it replaced after opening the package? Thanks!

Warranty should be worldwide. At least europe is fully covered no matter where it was bought (in eu)

I find this somewhat incredibly annoying. Why is Amazon taking new orders for the tablet when they have not serviced my order for the tablet + keyboard. Afaik the keyboard is completely separate to the tablet and arrives in its own box. They should be sending me my tablet now before taking new orders. It is an order with 2 items and both should be sent when they are available instead of waiting until both are available.

I cancelled my order with keyboard and order one without keyboard. I wonder if they really have one - there was "4 left in stock" written under the description.

you're right, it shows 'in stock' at the moment. However my keyboard combo is still expected to be dispatched on 31 may (ordered mine on 15 april)

I ordered the tablet+ keyboard est dispatch 1st june. Maby there is a shortage of keyboards, might just pick up the tablet and wait for the keyboard to be released tho is it guaranteed that it will be sold seperately.

It will be. Some shops already advertise it. It will probably not be cheap though.

Surely just £50 I.e. the differene of buying the tab on its own and the tab+keyboard.

Yeah, Future Shop and Best Buy have screwed the pooch on this. I just bought mine yesterday from The Source. I hear Staples also has them (try calling them). I bought mine in store (guy had to bring it out from the back so make sure you ask). You can check in store availability online at thesource.ca.

Once the first delay happened I just crossed the border and bought mine in the U.S.

Me too, especially since the 32Gb model isn't coming here at all, it seems. And they're all "Emasculating White" as well.

Picked mine up at Staples in Vancouver a week ago, super nice, feels awesome in-hand in portrait and landscape, already looking forward to next years quad-core and inevitably higher res model.

Too funny, I would have preferred a "Super Manly" coloured back panel as well, fortunately I'm always looking at the screen with it's dark and ominous background picture

I bought mine from Staples two days ago. I'm not using any case, and it feels great in hands. However I bought the Samsung Book case from the Source today. It's a nice case but too expensive ($65+tax). Going to a meeting next week, and don't want to walk around with a flashy GT without a case.

they are in canada. The odd thing though, they seem to be a lot different from the US model.
Also, they haven't appeared to have brought the 32gb version or the metallic grey.

At least the Source is carrying a case. What's missing though is the usb connection kit. I am hoping that shows up soon or I'll buy off ebay. Tigerdirect.ca was showing 32gb models in stock as a combo with the docking port for $680, but I was a bit skeptical. I asked their online sales guys and they confirmed it was in stock. I thought it was a mistake they posted this on their canadian website and sure enough, 2 days later there is no mention at all of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on the Tigerdirect.ca website. I really like my Tablet, but I would rather spend $100 more and have double the storage capacity since the device is already 'expansion neutered'. The Canadian market is being manipulated for some reason, did other non-us regions get only 16gb as well? I was considering the Toshiba Thrive, but that tablet has bad screen ghosting like the Xoom. It's also kinda ugly... but then it has all the ports you could want... The bad thing about all these android tablets is the lack of accessories carried in the stores.. I mean, how can you launch the Galaxy Tab in Canada and stores like staples don't even have 1 accessory for it. They don't even have accessories for the Transformer (their stock case is horrible btw)....

After having checked, it does look like I have touchwiz, but not 3.2.

I have seen them at The Source in Square One mall in Mississauga. I was looking for the book case but they were sold out. The Best Buy's I've checked have the display material out but not the actual tabs, the salesguys all say it got delayed. Weird.

Supply seems to be rather limited at the moment. Both of the staples stores here in Regina only got 2 each. We have 4 Source stores and they seemed to only get 2 in each as well. I really like the tablet, but I'm still annoyed by the lack of accessories (no one has usb adapters) and not having the 32gb model available.

It's fine as long as you disable auto correction and auto completion in Swype. Also Swype seems to be more prone to sluggish text entry than the stock keyboard. And Google Instant Search appears to slow things down, so disable that.

New 10 inch 8 Gig Version

I bought a 10 " inch screen 8 gigabyte version of the A500 Iconia from Best Buy. Seems to be ether a new model or one only made for Best Buy. I haven't gotten it in yet through the mail. I wonder if it will have the same specs as the 16GB model(aside from the memory of course)....and the same quality.

They sell the 8gb version at Costco too. Once the sold out of the 32gb they pulled that in.

As of last week, the 8Gb was 350 at Costco here in the Seattle area. Came with a sort of weak free case.

Congrats on the purchase. I picked one up from Best Buy as well. Now if they'd get around to shipping it, I'd be even happier.
The two things that have been noticed on this one is the lack of mention of GPS anywhere (though many of us are hopeful that it has GPS) and that power indicates 110 whereas all other models indicate 110/220.
Haven't seen anything else yet so now we're all waiting for our units to arrive to begin the fun.

GPS is not mentioned in any of the versions of A500 tabs.

pretty sure they all have GPS. plenty of threads exist with a500 users having wifi only models and using GPS. just make sure to apply all the GPS tweaks
a stock a500 isnt quite as hot as a tweaked out a500. earl reviews of the stock item at the original retail price were just OKAY at best. but if you tweak the little it turns into quite the little tablet.

say what? i have a wifi only version(a500) and it has gps. no tweaks needed. i doubt these 8gb versions have gps. official acer site and best buy have no mention of gps at all.
can anyone that actually has one in hand check? what a total bummer if it didnt.

this is the same a500 model as any of the other a500 models, with only 8gb. every a500 has built-in gps, just like every samsung galaxy tab 10.1 has gps. you dont need to have the 3G (a501) model to have gps.
the acer website doesnt list ANY of the 8/16/32 or 501 models as having GPS at all, so you can't go by that.

The 8gb one I bought at Costco has gps. I'm going to return it though because I decided to get a 32gb one from Tigerdirect for $400. 8gb just wasn't getting it done with Honeycomb's inability to move apps and data to the sdcard like Gingerbread. I was using almost all of the internal memory and I only had 8 of my games installed. Those Gameloft games need a lot of memory.

I got the 32GB one from costco for a similar price, $350 + tax. But if you can get bestbuy's price at $220, it might worth it.

The $229 8gb Acer A500 at Best Buy was a Cyber Monday deal that actually sold out by early Sunday morning. I think I saw "normal" pricing referred to as $380. I was lucky enough to snag one of the Cyber Monday tablets, but even though they say 0-1 day to ship, it is still "in process" and has not shipped yet.

I'm going to assume that means business days. It should be ready to ship today but who knows what the details are. Best Buy may not have them and are awaiting shipment from Acer which would explain why they weren't available immediately for store pickup (which was set at 5-7 days).
Hoping for the best as I'd like to get my hands on this tablet and start playing with it.

I ordered Noon-ish on Sunday, and it said "processing, 0-1 days..blah blah" until about noon EST today (tuesday).
Yes, it gave me a tracking number, and the original order (with 2-day shipping) said EXPECTED DELIVERY: Nov 30-Dec 1. UPS shows it as on time, Nov 30 by the end of the day.
EDIT--it does say it shipped on the 28th, even though I didn't get an email or tracking number until mid-day the 29th.

Lucky basterd! I ordered mine on Sunday at around 2:30am. Yeah that early, I don't know why I was still up that late lol. Mine still says order is being fulfilled or something like that so I the order hasn't been processed but it does let me cancel it anymore. The estimated dates I have are earliest Dec. 1 and latest Dec. 8
Yeah the folks over at slickdeals who bought the tab are all arguing on if it has GPS or not and if it has a flash mem or a micro hard drive. HAHA! I can understand the GPS debate, but the other one is just plain stupid.

That is an awesome price, holy cow! I got mine from Best Buy for I think $380 for the Tablet and $110 for the dock, but that was after my employee discount. I will ask my manager tomorrow if they can price match AND apply the discount, that would be swwwweeeeet!

Does best buy even offer price matching? I tried to talk the salesman about how it's on Amazon, newegg and other websites cheaper but he didn't seem to know anything and I just picked it up for their price. Didn't want to wait and possibly pay for shipping. I will look for deals on the keyboard dock though. That I can wait a bit on.

I stumbled upon this deal this morning while researching tables. I was going to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 until I read the Engadget and CNet reviews. Found out this one is much better. I was at work and called the store to have them hold one for me this I got off work. When I got there they told me that I got the last one and other customers were upset that I has one on hold.
Anyway, I go mine for $377.11 with tax and the keyboard dock for $107.74 with tax. The didn't have the keyboard dock so it is be shipped from another store. I should have it with two or three days.

Yeah, just my two cents - I too price matched with Best Buy (my brother visiting from Ireland had bought this at Best Buy a couple of weeks ago). I ended up buying it myself from officemax and then we price matched his at best buy! They were all confused as honestly, I don't think anyone ever takes them up on their offer! But $54 is $54!! ;-)

Office Max TF300t Dock
Appears that Office Max has pulled the TF300t Dock from their web site. Sold out!
At that price I can see why. But not sure why they can't offfer a raincheck. If they did not do their research on what a good deal this was then shame on them. They knew it because of the way they presented it in their flyer. Best Buy had thousand of back orders at Christmas on the TF201 and honored them all. Even gave free docking stations based on the lack of Christmas delivery. Guys argue and hold them to it!

I got the tablet and dock at Best Buy yesterday. They matched the tablet since in stock in local stores, but would not match the keyboard. I went ahead and also got the keyboard from Best Buy hoping the keyboard would be in stock this week at OM to price match.
Then I decided to go ahead and order the keyboard from OM yesterday, since expected them to run out and not get any in store this week.
The dock shipped last night and I will take the other dock back to BB when I get it. Total price for tablet and dock was same price as the A510 and Excite.

just bought my tpad tf300t for $320 at my local best buy! It was a must but when i saw it. The device was pre owned and the box was opened but everything else wasnt touched at all. the device wasnt even turned on.

I keep looking for open box but none around me have any

There will be a tablet and dock in Kentucky tomorrow if my dock is dead and the tablet almost dead while left in sleep mode again. I have had this happen twice in a row and both times the device was restarted, no third party apps used and push notifications disabled.
Shame since got both for $450, but usless to me if the dock and tablet do not behave well together. I have not rooted, so a stock device should not be doing this.
The Excite also had a battery bleed issue while asleep, but 12%, not almost the whole thing (dock too). The A510 did not have the problem, but gets too hot during use.
Added:
I may end up using my View as my main Android tabby and the iPad 3 for everything else. Bummer.

Haha, yes. I called best buy to see if they would price match a white online one for a blue office max one and the answer was no.

Thanks for this thread & the information. I have done my research and am ready to pull the trigger on purchasing this TF300 tablet. A couple of questions:
I have a BestBuy in a local town about 20 minutes away from me and there is an OfficeMax in that same local. Online, the OfficeMax of course says "Backordered" in this particular store when I search for it. The BestBuy shows it in stock, however I haven't called them to verify yet.
I see BestBuy also has the 16gb model at a similar price to the 32gb that is on sale at OfficeMax.
Will they try to play this off as being that one and thus not be inclined to give me the "price match" offer?
Should I ask them over the phone about the "price match" when calling to verify they actually have the 32gb in stock before making the trip OR would it be best to just show up with the Ad?
Is a salesman the person I present the ad to OR should I just walk in and go to the customer service desk with it?
Sorry for the goofy questions, just trying to have both ores in the water so I have the best chance at getting this accomplished.

I have thought about ordering from Nvidia directly, but they have high shipping cost AND I am not sure if they have it in stock themselves. I mean, if they are not going to deliver in 2-3 weeks, I rather go with Best Buy because they have the same delivery timeline but I got 10% cashback.

Agh, they're in Northern CA.

I got mine from Bestbuy.com, with the ship to store for pickup option. I ordered on Aug 8th and picked it up on Aug 14.

Yeah, there are many if these scalpers in Amazon and eBay. I refuse to support these people and won't event pay them $ 0.01 over the MSRP.

Just picked mine up today at Micro Center. Their website showed the store was out of stock but when I went there they were available.

Order mine for Bestbuy.com on 8/14 to be shipped to store still have not received it .

Gamestop. They had only one in stock.
I really wish NVidia would do more to market this... they're going to become the HTC of tablets... good products, no marketing support, and therefore no market share. And when nobody's buying the products, nobody's stocking them.

Amazon did have them in stock with Prime shipping for a couple hours this morning, back to only re-seller for now.

That seller doesnt ship to the UK, Besides, in the UK 2 years of warranty is standard whereas North Americans get only one year.
I picked my one up from scan.co.uk on launch day for £240 (14th Aug). Tablet only.
It is developing cracks on the underside.

Crap!! Missed that. I wish there's a way for Amazontop alert me on this.

Shield cover seems to be out of stock both company's I use dabs and novatech are for advanced orders been waiting since the 15th and still no god dam cover that goes for my new micro SD to Grrrrrr

Amazon a few days after launch. Just received my cover from Nvidia this week.

Ordered from amazon directly at 130 am, was just messing around when I saw this. BTW you can install an extension in chrome which will email you when a certain product hits a certain price or lower. It's called camel something, not by computer right now.

Bought mine today on Nvidia since the only other one I can find is 70 miles away. It said it was in stock but I have no idea if it will ship on Monday or in a month. People on the forums said I'll probably get it in a week, but never get a shipping confirmation until after I get it... What is it with companies with green color schemes and poor shipping? (razer pulls the same **** with me and I end up getting products before I get tracking numbers).
