[wip][rom] improving j's sense build

I'm now working on improving j's build
By improving network and WiFi ....

I think it's a good idea, go for it!

Dont call it 100% IF camera doesnt work with full features
Sensors dont work
Bit buggy etc etc

I'm pretty sure he meant it's 100% based on AOSP rather than 100% functional

yeah sense is cool too & many are looking forward to it, J had some promising progress with it but left it, Not sure why

The reason why he left it was because on ecalir HTC had put many restrictions and locked every Apk very tightly
It would be easier now because people for MOTO Droid with a diff chipset omap and powervgr have ported it
The main thing is decompiling and changing parameters
Like swappiness , RAM , etc

I dunno much about this stuff, but there was another thread about it recently & if I remember correctly even achotjan was involved but nothing released, maybe you should contact those & J, to avoid starting from zero

I've been wanting to try AOSP GB with fps fix and custom kernel from J's 2nd post but I'm not familiar with making boot.img's so I'm trying to look into steps of how to make one... BB.67 btw

Pm sent back and its cos of the customization of MIUI that makes it a great rom
We already have Trip and Cobrato working on it so why would we need another MIUI rom? Doesn't. make sense....
I want to see another rom which isn't on the x10 yet

Some people really need to improve their English here and besides, there has been not a single bugless software released in the computer world.
@OP -- I say go for it, and make it available for all basebands since we have kernels supporting all basebands now.

Kernels are available for all basebands but as of yet roms aren't
And because you cannot use internet whilst in phonecall on 2.0.XX (.46.49.52) and other things,roms on 2.1.XX (.54.55.58.61.65.67) are recommended for battery and signal strength

I'd very much like to see a MIUI rom, been some time since a new one emerged on xda and none based on 2.3.3 has been made here yet.
Besides, functionality wise I think it's one of the best aftermarket firmwares too imo. Would be really nice and awesome if a miui rom was cooked on xda once more

I would love to see some of the theming abilities of MIUI (being able to change lockscreen,status bar icons, etc) in a stock-ish hybrid rom. Or some sort of built-in theming engine.

Tripmiui latest release works fine.........sense is cool but super hard to port...........but if you could do that go for it........ if you could make a 100% working aosp or cm7 that is stable and fast go for that

Tripnmiui has bugs and data issues which aren't going to be ironed out anytime soon as development has stopped or at least been put on hold. If you could make a stock fully working miui rom that would be awesome. Why not aim for higher since there's no lack of cm7, stock, se lookalike roms etc etc

MIUI for sure =] I mean look at TripNFag / TripNBalls . His got his **** named as TripNDroid engineering which is basically all copy and paste from other tweaks . It doesn't even work properly, with alot of bugs, and glitches and lags everywhere .

By the way TripNFag has left the x10 development, he got a new phone, goodbye TripNBalls fanboys.

Ha 'TripNBalls' lol made my day. But on a serious note, miui is boring and I doubt that trip will leave the x10 community. Maybe attempt an actual HTC sense port

Why do you think it is taking so long to have a stable version of CM7 for Xperia X10? Its brothers and sisters already have theirs (Neo, Ray, Mini, Mini Pro, Play, etc.)

Well I suggest helping J "fxp" in helping making a fully stable working version then. That's why there is a delay because it's waiting to be deemed as "fully stable". It will be the same rom as in on here so join the bug hunt and perhaps think about a slughtly more constructive post next time....

Because CM for that device also made by same person & team. Gosh...J and FXP also human. Just give them more time. By the way FXP43 just released. Go try that Rom and report the bug properly if you want this Rom asap.
And btw, we are not allowed to ask for ETA. Stick to the forum rule. Cheers

This rom is great, but the camera app sucks! No 720p, no zoom in/out, no face detection and more stuff from stock GB camera app. Stock camera app looks much better. It Is Possible to replace CM7 FXP camera with stock GB camera app? Rom is really brilliant, fast, stable and smoothly, but this flaw really pisses me off.

Maybe because SE support for devs wasn't good enough? I've read that Sony provided libs and stuff for fxp team, which is awesome, but i'm afraid it was mostly for the 2011 ones.

Hello. I've seen this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1503477 . it's about an increase in video performance, with new adreno libs. We also have the adreno 200 gpu. Some devs and testers could test this if it works and brings some good performance increase? tks.

look promising...might solve a lot lag in x10. lets see how our dev work with this.

I think these new libs are used by fxp since fxp106.

Probably because I have also tested FXP (FXP109), and 3D graphic is really good, but everything else is not so great..as in roms like Feralab..But, we don't know, FXP is still developing CM7.2 and CM9 (they are in alpha phase)..

This thing only gave me bootloops

It make me say so because some year ago I learned the ability called "reading"
Look here, mate (even FXP104)

We already have it since FXP 104. (see above post for changelog). Performance are definitely improved, rendering is a lot faster. And 3D FPS cap is removed, only on CM9 though.

yes - fxp has had it for a while, the difference was quite staggering too.
not sure if any stock based Roms have implemented them yet, i have not seen them mentioned on any other changelog - which is where i would expect it to be as it is a major selling point for any Rom.

it needs to be BUILT FROM SOURCE...and i think you guys know what that means? only achotjan and fxp ROMs hav it.
you can pull just /lib/egl folder from them and see how stock rom will lag like hell on new libs....lol
they depend on other libs so whole ROM needs to be compiled

Many roms for the x10 mini already have it.
And yes gpu is vastly more re-active with the new libs.
Not just a boost for games... it really gives the interface a massive boost.

so who will bell the cat? i mean who will compile them for stock ROM's?
if there was someone, would have been done here...
on my.xperia s ROM, cosmic flow is not running solely due to absence of these new libs.
i could pay 10 dollars to anyone who does is for stock ... i want it man....i know how much it makes a change to the gpu

Cyanogenmod 10 is based on the new 4.1 Jelly Bean. CM9 is based on 4.0 ICS.

J is the 10th letter. CM10. That's how ALL cyanogenmod builds are named.
Edit: and jb is 4.1, it's not a new platform, just an "update" you could say so expecting it to look much different is just well stupid.

here a few things (didn't test myself, but i heard it from other devs)
it will use less ram
it is VERY smooth (scrolling, everything thanks to butter)
games will probably run better
and more ofcourse
and i thing: maybe sony will give it to us because it is faster it requires less ram (ics= 1024mb jb=512mb like the play has)
and it will be better for gaming!!!!

We deserve the update but I highly highly doubt we will see an official jb update from sony
