[Q] Restoring a CWR Backup? - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have made a CWR backup of my rooted 1.1 stock rom with all my installed apps. I tried out the new 1.2 update and then tried to restore my backup. Everytime I connect to Wifi I get a message about problem authinticating and having to reflash to stock. How can I get my backup to restore correctly? Wipe data/cache? Won't that take out all my apps? Or am I stuck going back through 1.1 stock, autonooter, install apps/titanium restore?

[Q] Restoring apps/data from backup when going from stock to CM7 or IG?

So if I have a full TitaniumBackup of my phone, and I flash from stock to CM7 or Iced Glacier, can I restore any of my backup without causing problems? Or am I stuck rebuilding all of my settings and reinstalling the apps fresh from the market?
Do I need to check the box in TB that says to try to restore to incompatible ROM versions?
IG is Froyo, so it's less complex.
You can safely restore User apps and data with TB, but be very very careful with system app data. Even the green colored items may cause trouble, as you are CHANGING the ROM environment and may misprovision something.
Nandroid backups are complete system images, useful for returning to a known state, with this caveat:

HTC Glacier running CM7 #33
I did a complete TI backup of my phone before flashing IG. I was able to successfully restore all of it after wiping the phone during the flash, without any issues.
I initially tried to flash with no wipes and had some stability/app problems. I went back, re-flashed, wiped, and just restored my TI backup with great success.

[Q]Restore from Backup

I made a backup of my stock rom that was rooted with CWM before I flashed Phiremod 6.3 and then 7 to my nook.
Is it safe to flash my backup back to my nook?
It should be safe but the question is why you want to "flash my backup back to my nook"?
Yes you would use the restore function of CWM. Go into back/restore then restore then select your backup and hit restore.

[Q] Broken Nandroid Backup

Hello All,
I had a TPT with rooted ThinkPadTablet_A400_03_007_132_WE.
Yesterday I installed CWM from here and made a backup of the ICS using the standard dup format.
Then went on to install CM10.
All worked fine and CM10 seems great.
However, I forgot to do a TitaniumBackup of the apps in ICS.
So I went back to CWM to restore the backup ICS.
Here comes the problem.
At restoration, CWM breaks saying it cannot restore system data.
I then cleared cache/data/dalvik and tried again to restore ICS. No luck.
So I´m stuck with CM10 now. Does anyone have an idea how I could recover my ICS installation.
If not, I want to recover it to backup the app I bought through the Lenovo store, which I can no longer reinstall in CM10. Any ideas how I could achieve that?
Thanks a lot,
Bruno

[Q] Every App Stop Working After NANDroid

On my G900P, I made a CWM NANDroid backup of 4.4.4 stock rooted ROM. Then I did a full wipe and installed Cyanogenmod 5.0 ROM. Then to revert back I wiped everything (including dalvik cache) and tried to recover the NANDroid backup, which seems to complete without errors, but every user application will force close when launched. Also, SMS or Calls cannot connect.
So is the NANDroid backup corrupt? Did it not flash properly when I recovered it? (tried multiple times)
My suggestion would be to flash the stock rom which is the same version as your NANDroid, 4.4.4, first. Then restore your NANDroid backup.
You shouldn't have to, but it might work.
That doesn't seem to work. The apps still force close / stop working over and over. Here's a lengthy logcat. Anyone have any ideas?
