I know Best Buy in Victoria got a shipment of Xperia Plays (White) yesterday - I played with one of the units too. I hope that the Arc also gets delivered earlier so as to avoid the run around on release day.
I've been informed that some Best Buys got their shipment of Arcs today. I'm not sure whether they are going to be selling them though!

There are only Blue Arcs at Best Buy; the Play is available in both colours.

After shopping around a bit I can now confirm that we won't be seeing the silver arc in Canada
Maybe it'll come eventually, but for now we're stuck with blue.
Luckily my X10 still has some fight left in it!

They are all 16Gb.
The store I checked had 4 white ones in stock. They said they might receive some blue tomorrow morning. If so, I'm going go down there, compare the two colours and buy the one I like.
nice to know they got white, hopefully that means the online stores wont have a delay on white.

Good old Dubai the bastion of capitalism where the gulf in society is bigger than anywhere else in the world mind you anytime ive been there it's been amazing and despite it's faults i miss the place although im not sure i could live there full time with their outrageous laws, i remember when the HTC HD2 was first released Dubai too seemed to get that phone first.
I picked one up today from the Stratford store in London UK - Price was (inc VAT) - £399.00
They only had the wifi version in white - couldn't resist so purchased although ideally wanted the 3g one with more storage.

Samsung website says Argos is a seller, but they have no idea.
Carphone warehouse is selling it and has the 16gb white vetsion in stock. Expansys and clove are selling 16Gb and 32gb white and grey but are showing No stock until 1st Sept.

Only the grey 16gb version is available and the white 16gb. Funnily the grey version now shows as unknowing date for delivery and stock. Only the white shows as in stock on the 1st of september.

Yes, it appears to be only available (sim-free) at the higher price of ~£430 from both Carphone Warehouse and the Sony Mobile GB site. I think I read somewhere, maybe here, that it's to encourage buyers to take it on contract.
It is available with Expansys as well.
unfortunately expansys is the only company that asks you to preorder and put your credit card details in without telling you how much they'll bill. Probably hoping you'll forget to check (yes you can cancel)

nvm turns out the product code has the phone name for expansys, 5803.
i asked them for some shipping ETA but they have no idea so far.
that said its the cheapest green 5803 exported to the USA so far. (obviously 100 bucks more than clove if you don't get green)

it makes sense - thats the time they need to ship it from europe today, to them, including the weekend.
i dont think sony will ship earlier than expansys if they do announce US availability. But it might be not very far apart.
In general sony doesnt release to the US directly only through carriers and even so its pretty rare and very late. so generally expansys usa has them way before sony/carriers (month(s)). but this time around it could be that sony has them a week or two later who knows.
All I know is.. i should get mine next week at this rate

I would say it's somewhere around 15-20 % depending on sending country VAT (plus customs expences?).

It's not too much of a problem in Asia, stock there is high enough and there are enough distributers to place your order from. Here in Canada you have limited choices due to how much power the telcos have.

Vr does not ship with phone. You submit a scan of the receipt and upload it to samsung promo site and then it ships direct from them in 4 weeks or so. Same as it was for S7

The ones from Samsung supposedly arrive on the 20th and they include the promotional items. No filling out forms or wating for them to process and ship it separately.
Mine was a complete rigmarole. When I moved from the V10 to the V20 because the V10 just stopped working, they took away my Jump and then when I wanted to upgrade to the S8+ I was told I'd have to pay full price.
Next breath, the rep said, "If only you had Jump..." I lost it on her and told her I was told I couldn't keep jump. Very long silence, and she comes back with, not sure why you were told that, maybe we can put it back. An hour late, and a supervisor re-established Jump and I was able to upgrade to the S8+. Very weird they are stripping people of their Jump when it wasn't sunsetted at all.

they aren't sold in conjunction with partners/deals. All phones I've bought from Sammy UK have been unlocked. As are sim free phones from CarPhoneWarehouse.
Preordered a midnight black AT&T S8+ from best buy the night of the 30th. A $100 savings was too good to pass up. Anybody with experience on best buy phone preorders? Is it likely to arrive by the 21st? Or earlier?
