[Q] How do you have your trackball colors set? - Nexus One General

Hey fellow Nexus One diehards, how do you have your trackball notifications set? Just curious...
I have:
Red - Gmail @ 5 sec
Dark Blue - Missed Call @ 2 sec
Orange - Exchange email @ 4 sec
Green - txt/google voice msg @ 2 sec
light blue - calandar notification @ 6 sec

What do you use to set the notification colors?

Trackball alert from market or some ROMS have capability built in (Cyanogen)

And you will need to be rooted if you didn't gather that.

You can use many programs for this.. not only TB alert. (Light Flow - my fav., Blink, Tasker, Missed Call....)

gmail-red
twitter-cyan
missed call-yellow
google voice-green
text-blue
everything else is random color assigned.

I use the approximate color of the official icon/logo when applicable.
Almost the same as the op, purple for gvoice.

gmail - green
missed call - red
twitter - yellow
text msg - magenta
market - white
status bar - blue

Gmail green
Message blue
Missed call red
Market white
Facebook cyan
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App

SMS/MMS - Blue
Gmail - Green
Email - Yellow
Missed call/Google Voice - Red

gmail - green
missed call - blue
low battery - red
text msg - orange
calender appointments - pink

White is the only one i use. Anything else looks wrong tbh.

Some LED questions

Hiya All,
I have two questions regarding the Jam led:
1. In normal operation the LED flashes under green color around each 7 seconds. Is there anyway to shorten the interval to around 4 seconds ?
2. When an appointment is secheduled, the notification window pop ups and display the appointment detials. After I'm dismissing the notification window, the LED still flashes with yellow color and only SR can resume the LED to its green light. Is there any way after dismissing the appointment to resume the LED to green light again ?
Thanks in advanced,
Bright Star
hehe i can't even see the difference between these two colors.
flashing blue would be nice
1. There's no way of changing the flashing interval.
2. Check your settings under Sounds & Notifications - Reminders - Flash light for...
Thanks for the interval info...
However, when I'm going into notification settings and removing the flash list for missed calls or new sms messages, after approving the new settings, it's always coming back to default.
Any ideas how to fix this ?
Thanks in advance,
Bright Star
default to what?
Defualt to flash light and notification on the Start line...
Anyway to remove all notifications such as missed calls, incoming sms and voice mail from the Start line ?
Tia,
Bright Star
Yeh mine seems to sometimes get 'stuck' on flashing the orange light, even if you've dismissed the alert. It does it for some SMS's when on vibrate mode, and some reminders on normal mode.
You can fix SMS's by going into Sounds & Notifications, clicking the 2nd tab then ok. I've found no way to fix it for reminders other than SR.
Annoying!
Noone found why the led can't be flashing any faster?

Notification blinking green

Hi, I searched the threads and google and saw that someone asked if they could change the flashing green light for a text, email, etc...to like purple or red or any other color. Is there a way to do this? For AIM i changed incoming messages to blink purple, but how about for sms, email, etc... thanks!
you can either download chompsms in the market and change ur sms LED settings there (note that the led change will work only for chompsms)
or
download missed call and change your sms LED settings there.
For SMS messages, you can also download the latest apk mod from rgv151

As far as I'm aware there's no way to make the standard notification colour change, but there are lots of apps out there that allow to switch off the standard notifications and replace them with an app-based notification of your choice.
For example, SMSPopup and Missed call allow you to replace the LED colour to one of your choice (from pre-defined colours) as well as change the frequency of the flashes, and also the type of vibration (e.g. long vibrations, short vibrations or combinations thereof)
I recommend SMSPopup as it will also wake up your screen and display the text message, like the majority of phones do as standard.
thanks for the info.

Problems with facebook and phone LED

Hi,
I've set my facebook application to update every 30 mins, I wish it had less period than that. Anyways, when I have a new notification, poke or message, the phone makes a notification ring and a GRAY facebook sign appears on the top bar and the phone LED doesn't blink.
What does that mean? why the facebook sign is gray and shaded and not blue? anyone else having this problem? I'm using 026 firmware with no root.

Most obvious & needed missing Droid app.. LED alert control across the board in 1 app

Most obvious & needed missing Droid app.. LED alert control across the board in 1 app
No, this app does not exist.
I have tried them all and since Froyo 2.2..
1. most are not reliable
2. some only do 1 thing
3. some busted
4. some are no longer being actively updated by the dev
examples..
1. Blink get's so so reviews. Does not work for me on Droid rooted. same for many others. fails.
2. Handcent still works for SMS and MMS custom colors + sounds.
3. Missed Call app is busted also for colored LED on 2.2 Droid & dev admits it and just does not keep up on the app. Calendar events no longer even work, missed call LED reverts to stock green, sound alert does work.
4. Calendar Notification can do custom color LED & sound for calendar events
5. gMail Notification can do custom color LED and sound for gMails
6. Tasker can be used to adjust SMS & Missed call LED settings & sounds.. but I get 50/50 results with colored LED and it gives dual notifications for missed calls.
7. Blinker fails... see my review here in the devs thread
what is needed...
1 app that can change sound alert and LED color for (no order):
1. gmail
2. missed calls
3. Talk
4. Calendar event
5. Voice
6. waiting VVM
7. SMS
the problem is that no 1 app does them all and no app has ever been able to do some of these. For example, no app can or has ever been able to intercept #3 and #5 or #6 for example. So now, we have a weak selection of LED alert apps, you have to have several, just to get simple control over LED alerts + sound in Froyo 2.2. The Missed Call app was so close to the concept BUT it cannot change stock things like Talk or Voice from the stock green LED. Plus, the calendar function and missed call both broke in his 2.2 latest release, which was back in May, and never responds to emails or maintains his app.
Point...
we need 1 app that can control these LED alerts + sounds for all of these apps all in 1 simple place. and it would be worth charging money for it and seems absurd such a thing does not exist.

[Q] Multi-Notification LED?

I see a lot of questions about multi-colored LED, but none helpful to me. However, I apologize in advance if I missed it, and this is a repost.
Anyway, I was wondering if there was a "hack" or app that would allow the notification LED to show multiple notifications. Right now, if I have an unread text, it only blinks purple, regardless of whether or not I have a missed call, or Google Voice message as well.
Is there a way to set it up to alternate colors? So it would alternate purple and green if I had an sms and Google Voice message, or alternate green and blue if I had a Google Voice message and missed call?
Any help is very appreciated.
Thank you,
-Rex
Try blink.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Hey, I was wondering about this myself. I tried Blink, neat little app however, it looks like the Droid X's LED only comes on when the screen is off. It would be cool to have the LED continuously blinking until you address the notification. (unless there is an option to change it?)
I did not know the DX has a full array of colors for the LED until I installed this app, I will use it regardless
handcent allows you to customize ringtone, notification light, vibration pattern, and theme of texts. i HIGHLY recommend using handcent instead of the stock texting app. just make sure to turn off notifications in your stock texting app or else you get two notifications per text.
