[Q] Help please. - Droid X General

Hey. I am very new to the Droid X. I just got it as a replacement phone because I lost my HTC Incredible. I was so used to my Incredible that I only know how to half-way use this phone. I rooted this phone as soon as it was in my home. However, while trying to install GB on it, I realized I used the wrong Bootstrap Recovery. So now my phone just gets stuck on the "M" Logo. I'm not some fool that didn't do any research about this before coming here. But nothing has worked for me.
I tried re-installing to the stock rom 2.2.1 (2.3.340)
But whenever I try installing from the STOCK RECOVERY (because I can't seem to access Clockworkmod Recovery) The bar fills about 25% and cancels leaving the message :
"E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
-- Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
.E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted."
Please help. Thank you ><

Nevermind!!! DD FIXEDDDDDDDDDDD

When u fix a problem please post how you did it.not just nvm fixed it

Re-download and test both of Modaco Paul's FroYo updates (the normal one and the one from the mirror). Do both give the signature error again?
If neither work, try Cyanogen 5.0.6:

If not even flashing Cyanogen works, something is wrong.
Remember to try wiping too!
You need to flash Amon-Ra recovery image. Then run paul's update,
OR:
Seems to me like it is possible that your download is corrupted. Did you download from the google address or a mirror? Get it from google directly.

Can not install 2.2.1

Hey guys I am hoping someone can help me out. About a week ago I did the one click root with my phone and used it to clear my cache etc... but never installed any roms. I got the update notice for 2.2.1 and when I go to install it, it always aborts when it gets to the end. Even if I do the root manually. The error looks similar to this:
--Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
Verifying current system...
*Has a bunch of letters here*
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
I wiped clean the phone and even tried it with the fresh install and it just won't take. When I do it with the official update it shows the icon with the box open and the arrow coming out and then goes to the guy with the exclamation point. Any help? Please?
Official signed updates don't work with rooted phones, dummy.
DDM123, before doing the update I used the "one click root" to unroot my phone. Is there another way to unroot the phone or am I stuck from not getting anymore official updates?
Did you install custom recovery? If yes - you need to install the stock one back.

[Q] Rom Manager- Not able to verify whole-file signature

Hey guys,
I am pretty new with the android OS but I am trying my hardest to read up on it and wrap my head around it. so please bear with me.
I have a verizon fascinate that was purchased a week ago and I rooted it.
I have the Rom Manager installed and the OS is running smoothly. I was going to install a custom Rom on my phone but when I tried to back up the current Rom using the Rom manager. it will boot into the Android system recover (2e) and this is what shows up on my phone:
-- Install from Package...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
verifying update package...
E:faield to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
with that massage I dont think that I have my current Rom backed up any where...
does any one know how I can get passed this step?
I dont have much knowledge about the android operating system so if some one can help me out with this it would be freaking awesome!
---
I have not installed anything crazy, Rooted with the One click root. and Used the Titanium back up software.
You have to flash the Clockwork kernel/recovery onto it to run the update.zip that activates the backup stuff. See here.
MAKE SURE YOU FLASH INTO THE "PDA" SECTION OF ODIN AND NOT THE "PHONE" PART. "Phone" will brick your device.
Works perfect now!
Thank you very much!
i'm having the same problem, but i've already flashed clockwork? did i miss something?
fail fail
E:faield to verify whole-file signature

[Q] Rom MAnager Question Please help

to start im new here
ok but the problem is that when i try to back it up threw rom manager it goes to the recovery screen and sas
--Install from package...
Finding update Package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
That doesnt sound like its even trying to back up i dont want to do anything with it before i have a back up and i am already rooted
sounds like u need to flash the clockwork recovery with Odin and then go into to Tom manager and hit "flash clockwork recovery" then try it all again.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Go to second post in Fascinate Android development; click "ROOT, Recovery and Update"; click "Flashing Clockwork" under Note 1; follow instructions; problem solved!

Errors when attempting to apply update.zip

I have the European (stock) version of the Galaxy S running 2.2.
I am attempting to install Darky’s 2.2.1 ROM and when I attempt to apply update.zip in recovery mode, I get the errors
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
My phone was originally rooted using the ‘one click lag fix’ that you can download from the marketplace. I also had Voodoo, but I disabled this. When I try to use OCLF to root my phone again, everything is ‘redded out’ except for check free disk space. I’m not quite sure why this is.
Does anyone know what’s going on here? I want to get my super fast cool looking ROM!
e3 needs signed updates, you need to flash e2 recovery to apply unsigned ones. CF-root includes e2 recovery, there's others as well
XIAfbk is totally right, first flash CF-root with Odin, then go into recovery mode.
