Battery I dunno, some people seem to conclude the batterylife is bad within an hour after flashing For me, just about all roms are pretty similar in battery, getting me through 1 day with ease, and not getting through a 2nd day Thats fine with me really since I charge at night.
Available RAM is indeed pretty low in 2.3.3; starting off at about 115 but quickly dropping to 70ish when actually doing stuff. And this is with a pretty conservative amount of installed apps. *misses cm7 for available ram*

I prefer 2.2.1 task manager as got option to clean level 1 or 2. Thats gone lol any one else notice barcode scanner

Firstly how did you come to that conclusion?
Secondly, how do you know that process isn't doing a lot of needed work? After all, Dalvik drains a huge amount of battery too. Without it though, the phone is pointless..

I have 0 but battery life is normal. Just because the bar is full, it doesn't even indicate that it took much power. You might have other factors to consider for the poor battery life.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Ive come to the conclusion because:
Once the process didnt show up and i had like double battery life.
The proceess also doesnt show up on every sgs, and ppl who got the process r also complaing about battery life (most of them)
I believe it has something to do with rootinga

STOP BUMPING THIS! It's damned annoying.
Secondly, it may be caused by a broken application, or something else. The best way to learn more is to run proper tests. Remember, a few guys might "have this problem", but that doesn't mean the firmware is faulty. There are also people here who are saying that there is no GPS problem, and that Google Maps/MyTracks is faulty. Just because someone says something, doesn't mean it's accurate.
Process 0 may be sucking up your battery life, but if you want to solve the mystery, spend your time running tests to isolate what causes it, don't spend your time bumping a thread. .
Bump
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Have you test to flash the rom after backing up your data ?
Maybe this could solve the problem !
Because bumping and bumping is simply useless !!
In fact, I have just tried. A full reflash, repartition on Odin using DXJPE firmware (latest SEA firmware).
Without rooting, or any apps being installed or any custom kernel, '0' process was seen active immediately after the first reboot.
Pretty much we can assume it is a designated Android process.
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere 2.2.1 hides system processes like "0" in settings, they're still there, just not shown. You can see their stats in spare parts though/

1200 mhz on galaxy s. Safe?

Im wondering if anybody can attest to the stability and reliability as well as safety concerns with running a galaxy s phonew at 1200 mhz. I see a lot oflash kernels boasting this overclock. Thanks in advance

Flash and find out. If it doesn't freeze, your good. Some phones can't handle the oc. There's really no grey area, it will either be stable, or it won't. 1.2 is the standard, and is probably the safest. I'm at 1.48 and stable.

Use setCPU and set up a temperature profile. I have mine set so when the phone hits 120 F, the processor scales down to stock clock speed and cools off.

U will not have any heat issues unless ur charging ur phone. When u charge a galaxy s phone ur gets very warm including in stock speeds
Definitely. The Infuse 4G has the same hummingbird chip overclocked to 1.2 ghz by default, so it should run with no issues. I can doing 1.3 ghz with no problem. Can't hit 1.4 though.
Sucks since my last phone could handle 1.6 ghz (through a custom 1.6 ghz DOW kernel, thanks Morific!).
It is safe but you lose battery life so that didn't work for me but it is safe and no overheating issues
Dunno what Kernel i used but it was by Morific, and was discontinued for being unstable, but my phone has been able to go up to 1.4, they tried a 1.6 but was far too unstable or something.

Yes, the Manhattan project was a dud since it never really overclocked the device. In fact it only slowed it down.
But I requested a 1.6 ghz version of the DOW kernel from Morific, just for fun. Surprisingly it worked well with my old device.

That depends on the phone a lot. I know lots of people who use 1200 but I did with Overstock and Tigers Blood and my phone would freeze. Also use set cpu for the same side to keep an eye on temp.

I've had no problems oc'in, but it really does depend on your chip. Been running mine at 1420 for a week, super stable never gone above 29c under load. IMO, just have to give it a shot and see how stable it is for you.
I'm using Bullet and have been getting great battery life even with it fully OC'd. About 20-25 hrs with moderate use.

This baseband does appear to improve on battery usage, but it's still early days - weekends tend to have less phone usage than weekdays.

I have a problem with .67 and .61.
Here's my story:
I am on Froyo MIUI for the past two months, I think.
I had baseband .58 with the baseband patch.
Battery life was damn good, I could easily get 35-40 hours
and even more if I was using the phone less than usual.
With CPU Spy (a great piece of app, by the way) I could see that when I was not using the phone,
it was almost immediately falling to "Deep Sleep" state, meaning minimum to none CPU usage.
After installing .67, I noticed a slightly increased battery drain.
Opened CPU Spy and saw that the phone didn't get enough Deep Sleep.
Half the time the CPU was working, even during the night.
Then I installed .61 but the situation was exactly the same.
Also, in Spare Parts, the Dialer appeared to keep the phone awake for 70-80% of the uptime.
It's very weird, could it be related to my region?
Could those 2 basebands be incompatible with my country's networks?
The signal, however, was vastly improved from .58 .

it could be software related,i know theres a few apps that cause problems with deep sleep such as power amp,flikr,meebo/juicedefender atc. what miui rom are you using? also you could try system app remover from the marker and disable the dialler. the region shouldnt make too much difference as my regions isnt compatible either.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Actually, the Dialer is the com.android.phone process, so if I disable it,
I will be disabling radio connections!
I haven't installed any new apps, so it can't be that.
I am thinking about doing a repair with SEUS and then reflashing my MIUI ROM.
I am using Trip's MIUI 1.2 by the way.
Never before have I had such issues though.

RE: force closes, usually it means you restored apps or data that need to be reinstalled. If an app FCs, uninstall and reinstall it.
RE: battery life.
You can't make a judgement until you run a calibrate cycle and go through at least one charge cycle. Usually the first battery cycle on a new rom seems like really battery life, then things improve quickly. Since the rom has only been leaked for about 18 hours now I don't think anyone can give a useful opinion on battery life.

I flashed it at around 10am this morning, and with some pretty good, but not heavy use, I made it to about 6pm. When flashing this morning, I was around 92%. So yes, battery life is pretty good. Nothing will beat SRF, but now that I've tasted the gingerbread, I'm not sure I can go back to Froyo.
*Edit* Since being off the charger for 4 hours, and surfing the internet on both 3g and 4g, chatting on gtalk, multiple text messages, I'm at 76%. I'm impressed.
