[Q] "No Service" Error After 30 Minutes of Switching On the Phone - Galaxy S II General

Hi,
This is my first post in this website. Kindly apologize if I have posted it to the wrong audience. But I could not find a separate forum space for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830.
My issue is:
I purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 on 14-Apr-2011.
I am facing the issue related to the connection to my phone network. After I switch on the phone, I get my mobile network signal for about 30 minutes and after that the "No Service" icon is enabled and there is no signal at all in my phone.
I checked the SIM card on a difference phone and there is abosolutely no issue in getting the network signal.
I tried a different service provider SIM on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and I find there is no issue either.
The problem seems to occur only with my SIM card on this phone. I changed to a new SIM and apparently that also did not solve the issue.
I am also unable to find the "Network Mode" option under the network settings, which I would normally find in other phones.
I tried with the option "Use only 2G network" but that also did not help. I am not using any 3G service at the moment.
I am now stuck in this situation and not able to use my new phone.
I am from Chennai, India and use Vodafine India post paid service.
Hence seeking your kind advice to help me resolve this issue at the earlier.
Thanks and Regards,
Venakatraman R.

Since you just bought the phone few days ago its best to take it back to the place where you brought it from and let them check.
You donot have to worry as you might be covered under warranty.
I would also suggest posting this Q in the question and answer section to gwt more help. This is a SGS II section.

Agreed!
Rather than figuring out whether if its the ROM or doing Resets, it would be best to get it replaced from the dealer.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I will repost this question in the QandA section.
BTW, I replaced the phone and still the same issue. Very weird.

Venkat R.

I think then its a bad sim card. Just taking a guess since u replaced the phone.
Or there might be some setting for it.
I think you might not be getting good signal or no signal so the phone gets reboot everytime.
Again just taking a guess.
Would suggest to take it to.dealer n show the problem.

Well...I tried the SIM card on other phones and it worked fine. Waiting from Samsung to get some info on this now.

The phone is not ready. Wait 15 second and try again.

greetings to the greatest forum ever
I get this message "The phone is not ready. Wait 15 second and try again." whenever i try to access the phone settings or send a message....
well... i waited 15 seconds... 15 minutes.. 15 hourse... and even 15 days... but i always get the same message..
I searched this forum and found (for a different device) someone who is suggesting trying a different Radio varsion... i tried 3 ones, but the problem was not solved (I am using Radio ver. 1.13.25.24, and it is by the way the best in terms of battery saving).
I have also tried a different solution ... tried a my wife's sim card, and it (surprisingly) worked fine... but when i installed my sim, it didn't work!!
is there anyway to get around this problem???
thanks a looooooot
If it worked fine with your wife's card it seems to me as if your card might be defective! Maybe you should take it to a shop by your provider and have it checked!
it happened to me with a previous phone that i owned (Asus P535)
i had an old sim card. i just changed it with a newer generation (provided free of charge by my operator) and the problem dissapeared
good luck!
You can also try upgrading your radio version.

Did you even read his post???
"i tried 3 ones, but the problem was not solved"
Definitely sounds like a SIM- card prob. Get it exchanged/updated....
Thank you guys for your responses.
I agree that this is definitely a SIM problem. I talked to the tech support from my service provider... it seems that these are the only SIMs they currently carry!! OR whomever I taked with from the tech support is not qualified enough to answer my question. I will try to meet them personally (the tech support) and see if they can get my problem solved!
will let you upadated!

If that actually is true - that would really suprise me! I'm quite sure the guy you spoke to had no idea what this is about...
Why not just port your number across to another service who have better sim cards?

"Not registered on network" "No Service"

Ok got this phone but it wont ring or recive calls ! .
After putting in my SIM card, entering my PIN code it still says no service. When you try and make a call it says "Not registered on network".
It was on T Mobile which I have had it unlocked via eBay. I got past the Google registration page by entering APN settings for my SIM card (O2).
Now I can user the browser and market etc but no calls.
I have done everything in THIS thread and think I have flashed it with
JFv1.43 RC9. (When I say think it seemed to flash but I cant see any difference so not sure if it worked).
Does anyone know how I can get the phone to work?
Thanks for your time
i have been in this same situation for about 3 weeks and after spending countless hours on phone and at store with tmobile 3 replacement phone 5 sim cards and a new number they close my account and reopened it this was just tonight so i am testing it out so far i have lost servie twice within 3 hours restarted my phone both times and regained service so im not sure if it is completely fixd just yet
Its really annoying such a simple thing. When I try to manually select teh operator in settings it says "Your SIM dosnt allow connections to this network".
I tried an orange SIM card and for some reason it puts the phone in airoplane mode and wont come out :s
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Anyone got any ideas on what could be causing this ?
Thanks

man I'm telling you that's been happening to me. except I upgrade to ION and then reverted back to haykuro's 6.0r1. everythig that;s happened to this guy has been affecting me
No service
I also have a problem with my G1. Bought it from my local polish netwerk (Era) and the phone works OK however, from time to time it looses the connection to network and it needs a reset in order to login to network again. Don't remember if it happened before they released the software which supported polish language. So what do you recon is it a hardware problem or did those useless local IT guys screwed sth up while translating android??
hi i have he same problem stuck in airoplane mode and no service has anyone found a fix yet????
I´m yet another user with the same problem. For a few hours yesterday I suddenly had service, but it stopped working in the evening again.
Any solution?
A similar problem. Tell me what to do. Thank you.

So i purchased a sprint s4 off somebody of craigslist. I asked if the imei was clean and they said yes. They seem like an honest person so i didnt bother to check the imei until i was on the way home. Turns out the fing **** was lying and no i am stuck with this phone. So i found this post on how someone with a similar situation got it to work on domestic carriers that are GSM. I tryed it and it was working flawlessly i was very happy. So i took out the sim card i was using to test and put it back in my normal phone LG G2 and the next day when i put the sim in the S4 again it stopped working. I did not change anything and it is just not working. I will link the post i followed hopfully someone could help me out.

Refurbished and China seems Frankestein.
If it's a Frankenstein as Joku1981 suggests, run, don't walk, and get your money back.

what can i do now please help me. i upload pic about samsung info.
It's clearly not a Frankenstein, so that's good news. What carrier are you using?
In the first pic at the last line you can read imei cert:NA that mean that your phone has loose its imei certificat.
so you can return it and have your money back or give it to a sepecialized shop to push a new certificat with a box
PS: i have an i9500 and mine show : Imei cert: fail
@sentinelle20: "IMEI Certi: NA" is normal on the S4. I can confirm this because my S4 has the same readout and yet it works perfectly. On the S5 it may make a difference. See here for details.
Ok ggod to know...
in my working i9500 the last line says imei cert : pass

yes my sim work,s fine in any phone , i tried many sim in my phone but result is same. please tell me why some time phone work properly ? do you think its a hardware problem? because i upgrade its room many time but same result.
If you've tried multiple SIM cards in the S4 and all of them aren't working, then you definitely have a hardware issue. Either the SIM card tray has died or the fault lies in the motherboard. From experience, replacing the SIM card tray is both the least expensive route and the easiest, being something that you can do yourself. Replacement trays cost about US$10, a small phillips screwdriver, a half hour of your time, and the foam pad that sits on top of the connector of the original tray.
You purchased this as a refurb unit however, so you should have a warranty of some sort. Take it back to where you got it from and have them look at it.

Network problem

Hi.
I am having a problem with my network connectivity. I get the "Emergency calls only" message in the notification bar and I am unable to make or receive phone calls or messages. Wifi works though. When I restart my phone, I have connectivity for about 30 seconds before it disappears again. I have done a factory reset and upgraded to the marshmallow firmware, but nothing worked. My sim card works in another phone, but with another sim card in my P8, I get the same issues.
I am someone that always tries to fix something before throwing it away, but this repair might just be beyond my skills.
Does anybody know what the problem might be? Any assistance will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

No. I have had it for a few months and it was working perfectly until Friday.
And I also don't have a guarantee, as I am not the first owner of the phone.

I did. I just found out that I have to take my phone for repairs. The sim card reader has apparently gone bad according to the local cellphone shop. But thanks for the assistance anyway.
