Another GREAT way to play YouTube, Google Video & Veoh Videos for the Smartphone!!
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1412213 - you will LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!
(and don't forget I cross-post a LOT of Smartphone-related info in the General forum ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=256 ) too but, to avoid flooding, don't necessarily announce them in here; therefore, make sure you follow my posts there for the latest Smartphone tips & reviews!)

How to sort videos as to date in YouTube?

Hi guys,
I like the youtube application in my device and use it frequently. My problem is that I can't sort the search results as to date.
I run into this problem in two places:
1. When I search for any video I am always shown the most related ones as default, however after some time I am being already-seen those videos and only would like to see the new ones; imagine for example you're following review videos for Touch Pro 2 for example.
2. I can subscribe to a channel, for example in my case pocketnow and they upload a video daily and sometimes more than one in a day and there's no easy way to sort the subscribed channels as to date and find the new videos easily.
I hope I could clarify myself; any help on this?
Regards,

Encoding video for use on the Leo

Hello all,
I have a few DVD's which I wouldnt mind converting to a format for my Leo, mainly to make use of it's simply sublime screen and to keep me entertained on journeys to/from work and on lunch.
For my Blackstone I used to use MP4HD and disappointingly I used to have some issues syncing the sound with the video.
Despite browsing the forum for a few days, I have found precious little on this subject besides the real "OMG This screen is amazing" comments (which I wholeheartedly agree with).
Does anyone have any recommendations for conversion software for DVD's or general clips to convert for the Leo? Also, any recommended settings for conversion would be superb!
PS. If anyone has already converted some very high quality video files to show off the Leo's quality screen, any links to those would be welcomed. I downloaded the Samsung Blu-Ray teaser featuring the Helicopters which was attached to one of the threads I found via. search.

Any movie making apps like imovie?

I am just curious. It would be great to create and edit like the imovie app.
WeVideo?
I do regular web searches to see if anybody has developed a viable video editor / movie maker for android, and finally there's some hope.
Just came across this tonight - http://blog.wevideo.com/bid/272187/WeVideo-Launches-iMovie-Competitor-App-for-Android
It's a new app called WeVideo (just released, so it's still in BETA), and it's pitching itself as an iMovie-like editor for ANdroid, with some cloud-based features and other differences, but what's important as it appears to provide full "movie making" capabilities across various Android devices.
I just tried it out and it works well, with a few oversights like:
- No transition control
- No volume control for music tracks
- No local, uncompressed storage of published video (not that I've found anyhow)
Just for starters. But, if you don't mind using their simple theme, and don't want to include your own music, it works pretty well.
It's also nice that it supports publishing of your videos directly to YouTube, despite not exporting to sdcard etc.
I'll post this reply in a few other threads asking about better video editors for Android as well.

I've just downloaded AndroMedia. Seems pretty fully featured

Xoom Media Organization Apps

I'm not sure if this or Q&A is a better place for this, so I'm reposting here as well.
I really like to sort my videos into a nice little heirarchy as supported in iTunes. Ie: Movies, Video Clips and TV shows then TV Shows further sorted into series and then possibly season. I've always liked iTunes' ability to let me do this but the program is slow and resource intensive and doesn't sync with Android.
I recently got an Xperia Play which came with the Media Go software. This software lets set videos as Movies, Clips or Shows and set season and series info, etc.. all that wonderful stuff. Now I'm hoping to find a media player or organizer that can continue this.
Does anyone have a program they can recommend that can detect the type of media a video file is from this data and sort it appropriately? And is compatible with Xoom as my Xoom tablet is the device I intent do use for viewing videos (Bigger screen and all that after all. )
