SE Arc Vs SGS ringtones loudness - Xperia Arc General

Yeah I know but for me it's very important to hear the ringtones wherever I am!
Mobile Review said the SGS2 has the same speaker level as SGS1 so I wonder if someone here can tell if the SE Arc is louder than Galaxy S1?
I am nearly convinced to get the Arc instead of SGS2 but this one is getting closer and closer even the price is much lower than forecasted so I need at least a good + for the Arc over the SGS2

I don't have access to an SGS, but can confirm that the Arc is very loud, compares well to any other phone I've owned before.
Sent from The Arc!

Just sold my SGS and got the Arc - imo its just as loud as the SGS. Speaker quality pretty good really considering how slim it is

I never understand how they test the speakers at Gsm Arena!
Speakerphone test Voice, dB Pink noise/ Music, dB Ringing phone, dB Overall score
Samsung I9000 Galaxy S 66.6 65.9 66.6 Below Average LG Optimus 2X 65.7 60.0 67.7 Below Average
Motorola MILESTONE 2 66.5 63.6 74.9 Average
HTC Incredible S 66.5 66.1 76.7 Good
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc 66.1 66.3 78.0 Good
HTC Desire HD 69.7 66.6 78.3 Good
Nokia N8 75.8 66.2 82.7 Very Good
HTC Gratia 73.2 73.6 83.5 Excellent
DHD is known to be quieter than SGS but here it's louder than both SGS and Arc

I have used both dhd and sgs and I can says arc ring tone is loudest and in calls is as clear as my old Motorola startac =p

xperia x10 headset sound quality

i want to know about x10 headset quality?is it better than ipod/iphone or same as iphone/ipod
help me thanks .
(bump) help me
Much better i can say, iphone's earpiece has way to much treble and lack of bass, where as X10's on is balanced between both. Of course they both cannot be as good as the standalone ones
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
If quality is important to you, you'd better spend a little extra and buy new ones. There's plenty of good, low-cost options. I have the M9's from Meelec.com. The quality of the wires is very good, and you get alot of different earbuds to fit your personal needs and ear size. And they don't cost much.
i used monster turbine inear headphones sound wayyyy louder on iphone 4,
im a proud x10a owner though
Ok thanks fellas

Info required on quality...

Hello people,
Just a quicky to ask a hopefully simple question.
I have never owned a Samsung made phone and was wondering if any of you could enlighten me on the quality of audio output from them, in call audio? Headphone quality (obviously depends on quality of headphones, but general quality), and external speaker quality?
I'm currently using a Dell Streak, and one of it's biggest flaws is it's audio, shocking to say the least! Prior to my Streak I was using one of Satans phones (iPhone 3gs) where the audio was much better in general!
Can't wait for general release of the SGSII, ticks all the boxes and more - just hope O2 have it on release day and not delay it and fill it with there usual bloatware!!! Gonna stick with my current contact due to it being an old iphone unlimited data plan!!!!

Not sure about the GSII, but headphone and speaker audio quality of the GS has been superb, better than even the Itouch. And with possible Voodoo sound tweaks, it be even better.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
With a kernel running voodoo sound (all of them at this point) it's flawless.
Sent from my Captivate
Audio quality via headphone out should be good as this uses a Wolfson DAC like the original S, Wolfson are one of the better DACs around and good to see Samsung putting in a decent DAC on their phones! Not heard the sound from any Samsung phones but I've got 2 Samsung mp3 players and they both sound good with decent headphones.
As soon as shops have the SGS II in stock take your own microsd card filled with high quality content & your own headphones and just try it out.

Speaker sound

Hi,
How is the sound of the speaker?
Is it louder than the HTC Desire HD?
Thanks
Daniel
Not sure of the Desire HD but it's a hell of a lite better than the one on my Desire.
It's a little louder but the sound is clearer, less tinny and overall a crisper range.
DHD is crap! Compared to my Dell Streak anyways
Do not mention even Desire HD. I am not a user of SGS 2 but I am pretty sure there is no other companies than HTC can prodecure a lower speaker phone than Desire HD. That was my one of the main reasons to sell Desire HD.
My Desire Hd was crap UBER CRAP! i hope SGS2 is better, any improvment is a +, also curious if its better than iphone 4 speaker as that was my most recent device, anybody know? thanks
Do not expect too much from mobile phone speakers, as they can not have that good quality because of their dimension and form. IMO every mobile phone has bad speaker quality (never had one with good).

True but its all relative. I seem to remember my 1890 hd or whatever we caled the omnia hd having quite good speakers.
Comparing with Dad's iPhone 4 I'd say it's on par if not a little clearer. It misses all the low-end bass but it's not meant for music and the speakerphone quality is ace.

You've never owned or heard the Nokia 5800 then? Astounding quality speakers (yes there are two). Never heard another phone better than it, proves it IS possible to get good quality from small dimensions.

Obviously better than Desire HD, none of us saying mobile phones' speakers should rock our world but Desire HD's speaker is really really unacceptable.
i am also an ex dhd user. every time this thingy rang, and i was surrounded by other people, i felt ashame for the super low budget speaker this phone was ringing with. peace of crap
Below Andy's very useful comparison video related with Samsung Galaxy S2.
It's so obvious that new speaker champ is SGS 2

Samsung Galaxy S2 vs Htc Sensation Sound

Hi
I would appreciate your opinions between the Samsung Galaxy S2
and the Htc Sensation.
Sound and clarity are very important to such as/speakerphone/talking on the phone/media player sound/game sound. On a scale of 1-10(MAX) I would like to have sufficent/loud sound at 6 and not have to play it a full volume.
To give you and example I listened to the Htc Legend which has good sound but not very loud.(But better sound than the Samsung Galaxy S(I was surprised) I listened to the Atrix and was impressed with the volume/clarity of music.
I'm leaning towards the Htc Sensation but have no idea about the sound.
I don not intend to use a small amp with unit. I will purchase good headphone
Thanks for your help I look forward to your feedback.
Greg
Htc are known for speakers to sound tiny.
Sg2 is great, i work with barking dogs 10hrs a day and never any issues hearibg.

i tryed desire S(wifes) and yesterday also finally sensation...it has nothing to do with SGS2 in terms of quality -
- on low levels ok..they are almoust the same..but once u reach the higher sound levels SGS2 is leading...
so for me 1+ for SGS2
I think there is another post that asks this same question somewhere on here, but I second this question. I want speakerphone and video watching to be loud enough to cut through Asian street noise!

Trying to decide between experia z or htc one

Ok i gave my htc one to my son and will be buying a new phone part of me misses my htc one and have no complaints about it,part of me wants to go with the xz, im in the us on tmobile so both have lte and both are awesome phones just looking for any input, i know its my decision just trying to get some advice from xz owners
Go to a store and play with it for 10 minutes, then decide, no one will tell you what will fit in your hand, which interface will cover your needs and please your eyes. I believe that both phones are incredible, I own an Xperia Z of course.
I really recommend trying the camera of both.
I bought HTC one for my sister, and I saw the camera very bad.
XZ camera is not what you will expect also.
Try S4 our is good also

IP75 of Xperia Z
Bigger Screen
if these are important for u so buy xperia z if not just play with coin
I heard T-Mobile is pricing Xperia Z relatively cheap. In you're value caution, I strongly recommend Xperia Z. HTC One's camera isn't impressive and HTC is known to abandon phones after a year.

I think you can go a very, photo taken in low light are very disappointing on the XZ, or you know something I do not know ...
Was in the same situation a month ago. I did what everyone suggested and went to the store to try all of them out. I chose between S4, HTC ONE and XZ... XZ's waterproof feature won me over.

I bought the HTC One and sold it after about 2 weeks. I took it on a cruise, and was terrified of taking it anywhere, the pool, the beach, anywhere near the side of the ship.
I found it was extremely sippery. That metal makes it hard to hold. Also, it was incredibly easy to scratch/smudge. Also, the camera really wasn't that great. I really liked the Zoe feature and the autmatic gallery but I've since found some Android apps that do almost the same thing. The Z camera is hands down better overall.
I bought the Xperia Z and have been using it like a real phone. Not afraid to get it dirty or wet. I even took it in the water at the waterpark last week and took some great pictures floating down the lazy river. Can't do that with the HTC One!

I really recommend Xperia Z, the only problem with this phone is its battery life, it's not as long as HTC one, but overall it's better

And the battery life really isn't as bad as everyone says. If you know you're gonna need long battery life on a particular day, disable Bluetooth, LTE and GPS, dim the screen down a notch or two and I think you'll find the XZ has really good battery life when you need it. With everything enabled I never have trouble getting it to last a day with about an hour or 2 of screen use and about 10-15% left at the end of the day.
Personally, I'd go with the xperia z

I wasn't speaking of copying Zoe, but rather the auto clip creator the HTC one Gallery does. Check this link for apps that do a similar thing (though more manually)
http://techbuzzes.com/2013/03/best-video-editing-apps-for-android/
Having owned both the Xz and One, they both have there plus and minus points.
The One has the best external speakers on any smartphone out there, incredible in fact. Zoe is fantastic and since i got rid of my One, that is the main feature i miss along with Blinkfeed, which at first i thought was going to be crap, but once you load it up with Facebook, twitter and your favourite news and television channels, its so handy, also the infra red control of your tv is pretty amazing as well.
The Xz has a larger screen and if you view straight on I would say its clarity is the best on any device, the sound through the headphones with all the sony options is near perfect, also you get to be able to expand the memory with a microSD which the One doesn't have, for me taking my smartphone out for a run, the xz I could simply lob in my running tops pocket and it repels the sweat and rain, where as the one or any other phone you have to put in a sandwich bag or something another minor thing i like about the xs is the power/volume button locations are absolutely spot on, perfectly located for me anyway.
Alas there is one thing that totally lets down the xz in my opinion and that's the WIFI, its totally appalling, Same router at the same time, the One could pick up a signal right at the end of the garden, the iphone lost if half way up the garden yet the xz lost it in the kitchen, didn't even make the sunroom, maybe mine was a faulty unit...I could live with the mediocre battery life and the poor viewing angles, but the weak wifi was a show stopper.
HTC one Boomsound is amazing, compared to Xperia Z speaker ("crap")
but Xperia Z water-resistant, sometimes i like to wash in with water, somewhat fun! lol
Xperia Z camera win in "quantity", 13MP
Both of phone, almost same camera quality.
What i like from xperia z
- Clearbass, is perfectly clear! (get a good headphones, the one included is clear, but not "soul shaking clarity", and low sensitivity, very low volume.)
- 80GB of storage (16GB internal + 64GB microSD)
- Build quality, Glass and polyamide frame (HTC has nice aluminium unibody too!)
- 5inch FHD display (same as HTC one)
I've owned Xperia Z.
As i said i own a htc one but gave it to my son i did go ahead and order the xz tmobile model off sony today if i find i dont like it as much as i did my one ,ill get my son to trade back ,i do like the dev on the htc one and really loved the vipor one rom by team venom but just felt like i really wanted the sony but thanks for everyones input

When you say crap... Can you rate I to a scale of one to ten... Considering Htc one is a ten... Currently I have the one. But I want the so y z.
How does speakers compare to let's say the samsung galaxy s4 or iPhone 5?
The reason you don't listen to music through the built in speakers on smartphones is due to the fact that most are pretty poor speakers. Until the htc one came along with its stereo front facing amped speakers. They really are a step above anything else. Alas the Z's speaker as its only one side mounted low quality thing. But thankfully listening through headphones is phenomenal on the z
Scale 1 to 10 external speakers
Htc one.... 10
iPhone 5....6
Xperia z....2
Scale 1 to 10 headphone listening
Htc one....9
iPhone 5....8
Xperia z....9
