[Q] Android of NAND version has been finished on TP2.Is it possibe for Blackstone - Touch HD General

News come from:
forum.ppcgeeks.com/android-tp2-development/134598-nand-boot-testing-03-24-frx05-nand-testing-new-ril.html
As I know the nand version take the haret and android all into NAND.

seems good news

Wow i'm very happy !!!!

I'm so happy too....

This needs a little clarification:
TP2 NAND Android is NOT finished. It's not working for GSM TP2 users for some reason. I've tried porting this to Blackstone a while ago and it didn't work (yeah, Blackstone is GSM too...). I can try again when they fix this issue - there's a good chance it will work with only small modifications.

Great! I totally agree you and waiting your good news!

I think the same of you, and waiting for the version for our HD.

i dont know exactly about it , but i think it's different from hd2's nand android, isn't it??

NAND on Blackstone is not working yet, but it will be like in HD2 - Winmo will be completely removed.

Hi, has there been any further developments for NAND based Android for the Touch HD T8282?
Thanks in advance
Chris

Any news about the HTC Android NAND HD Blackstone.
I do not understand why it is so difficult to work in the blackstone if they are very similar in features and hardware to the HTC HD Blackstone.

Similar =/= identical. Even the small change in hardware require different drivers. Since documentation for our devices is not available to public trying to fix anything is even harder. Imagine writing the code for device when you can't be sure how it should work - you can only guess and see what happens. Plus the original kernel wasn't meant for NAND so there's a lot of things that have to be redone. Be patient - NAND for Blackstone WILL happen some day.

Any progress on NAND for Blackstone Touch HD please?

Wow momy, now that you have milk, give me the HD camera port.
Saaaweeet! Mdeejay should get a hold of this soon!
Yay! Does this mean that we will have a Camera on the Desire HD ROM soon?
C'mon devs, make us proud owners of HTC Desire HD2!!!

Great news. New challenges for the guys, my guess is that they will love this.
And we all love/appreciate the work they doing. It´s a Win - Win : )
Great news, and now Camera HD for HD2
Great, hopefully also help with the PPP issue
Big news for HD lovers as me and greats chance for our dear developers ... thanks to all developers for continuos support ...
Camera ?
NAND ?
That is a good news.
Now waiting.
Theoretically it should be not much more than finding the references to the HD camera sensor (S5K3H1GX) and make sure that the HD2 sensor (s5k3e2fx) is referenced there. The source for the HD2 sensor is available in the published kernel source. Now we only need a cook to do it.
first want to see that they have published whole kernel and not everything except the camera ( i know they are watching us ) and ofcourse they dont like it if we finish the build .
waiting patiently for the devs and hope they fix it soon

ok, a noob question, but with this release can developers now make a ROM that can replace windows mobile on the device memory or does this just fix minor glitches like the camera? if this relese does NOT do this wht will it take for us to have a rom that no longer has to be used from the memory card? thanks in advance.

No, this will not enable the NAND procedure. Actually, what gain do you expect from that except faster booting? The current SD version is a bit slower on startup but changing and upgrading is a breeze compared to NAND and you can have multiple versions installed and even the option to boot WM if you really feel the urge. With a fast SD card I doubt that Android will run much faster in flash mem.
So if you really prefer Android in firmware you will have to wait until the chefs are ready cooking this version (which probably should happen in the next month or so)

I do not fully understand what is the difference between NAND and SD boot. Is it really the case that after the boot system is sitting in the NAND... or maybe simpler Yes/No question:
After the NAND boot system is in THE SAME STATE as after the SD boot. The ONLY difference is that I have Android folder on SD card? (YES/NO)

when will android be useble?

when will android be useble on the htc leo?
what contains useble in the developers opinion?
and what are the thing we are waiting for for now for a useble android?
and when will it boot from startup?

It is unlike this will every take place. The complications with NAND and drivers for the Leo are the issue. Even the phone is similar to other HTC devices hard is different to drivers are as well. In the case of the Leo it will likely not happened. If you want a Android device I suggest you move from the Leo.
I understand the 4.3" screen is difficult to match on a carrier like T-Mobile. I personal just left Verizon where I had the Droid X. Android is nice but I was more focused on a phone with a nice hardware and set up.

Android is useable now.
Waiting for Devs to release it to NAND although it works flawlessly from the SD Card well at least mine does
Boot from Startup is NAND and won't be released untill it is finished.
The guy above this post is an idiot. It won't be long before it replaces winmo completely so stick with your HD2 as WP7 might be an option in the next few months or so as well.

Im sure, instead of wasting our valuable time, you could have spent some of yours searching through these threads and reading the state of the world of Android on the HTC Leo. But you didn't you chose to let loose another regurgitated thread asking the same question people have been asking for the last year.
Please read before posting.
Usable?
Usable? Um... I have not used winmo for about 2-3 months. If you have not tried it yet you should. There are several extremely stable builds right now. I recently switched from Bangsters to mdeejay evo revolution, only because I wanted to try a Sense build. Sound/voice quality is perfect, data speeds excellent, no issues with mms or any other functionality. Battery is also very good. Not as good as winmo, but very close, and who doesnt have a charger at their desk or in their car these days?
Sure you may lose data connection occasionally (maybe 1-2 times a week), but cycling airplane mode clears that up. The issues with android today are no worse than the shortcomings of winmo.
Its not like you lose winmo by loading up an android build. Just do it, you will not go back.
thanks for all the replays

I'd say that, provided that you are willing to read the forums to troubleshoot your issues, android on the hd2 is as capable as any other current android handset.
How to disable Active Sync security?
Hi
I'm sure this is an issue already solved and even discussed here. I did the search.
Could you tell me where to find software which will disable Active Sync security feature on Sence Revolution 2.2?
I have installed LockPicker already but I'm not able to get it work properly.
Thanks in advanced.

no way - thing i dont get is when the HD2, came out it was only a couple of months before they had NAND working, yet the HD been around for what 2/3 years and its not got NAND, and when you compare the specs of the HD n HD2
theres a small difference, So whats holding us back from getting NAND ?
Andoird on HTC Blackstone NAND
well actually there are huge differences between HD and HD2, especially in layout. HD2 is a new-gen phone, that means it's much easier to get full acces to NAND and everything else is much easier. The real question is not when, but IF will our HD get NAND android...
Yes, but first of all we have to see this NAND on HD and then we will find and resolve the problems ...
check tiad8.com from time to time. They are expecting a nand version soon.
As far as I understood, he is first focussing on the CDMA version and afterwards the GSM version.

DFT_Flashing WP7 to LEO #2 ?

i just spotted this on youtube but after looking deep into the forum there is no where the nand rom can be found.
Is this for real ? did the DFT Release it yet?
And by the way, don't roast me for dropping it here , but this is the NAND Section..

Yes, this is the Android NAND section... heh.
A release was done by DFT off their website and on a few chinese sites. I don't know if it's a leak or not, but we should be getting the ROM reaaaaal soon on the forums. I personally already did my work and got the ROM and all documentation related to it. Will flash once I have another SD card.
i have it allready, is working great.

Hi,
All the functions are working ok? It's running smooth?
Thanks
yes all things are working well including 720p camcording
Ya the news is true, its MAGLDR 1.12 with a stock WM 7 ROM by the invisible DFT..!!!
I presume it to be a leak or somethin but its an orginal DFT work..!!!
Everythin stated by COTULLA on htc-linux chat works..!!!
Try it at your will..!!!

Yes! All things works but I can't find any reasons to use WP7. Definitely it is a big change from wm6.5, but the change is become more worst! Just played with it for ~30 minutes and flash back to Android! Of course, having wp7 on HD2 is great to show off, but not for daily use.
A link please???

Apparently it is - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10566003#post10566003
Switched back to Android. I like WP7 because it runs so smooth compared to Android. Camera software is so worse, i don't like it, but 720p recording works like a charm (don't know why this feature doesn't work on Android)
I find Green button assigned to the camera a little weird to use (is more handy to assign the phone software).
Anyways, it looks promising but i'll stick to Android until something good about WP7 will show up.
Many thanks to Cotulla and all the devs for making this happend!
camera is very ugly on WP7 :-D

[Q] Android on NAND (i.e. replacing windows mobile)?

There are several thread teaching replacing winmo with android eg. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5540986&postcount=5 thread by tatnai
is this workable on blackstone as well?

There is already a thread about blackstone NAND. We're basically waiting for improvements in similar devices, because no / very few devs have a blackstone.
If you want faster improvement, buy/get a blackstone and donate it to one dev

Exactly.
There are issues with GSM modem handling. I could load linux kernel from NAND but it hangs before Android boots. I don't understand the radio related code enough to fix it but someone eventually will do it. It works in HaRET because Winmo does all the dirty work (hardware initialization) and than Android takes over. Probably this is also the reason why WiFi kills 3G data and maybe other problems.

Not similar at all. Different generation devices, different hardware... HD2 was almost identical (at least at a instruction level) as another native android device I don't remember, so they had almost all work done.
The Desire ?
