Official Samsung Honeycomb Tablets, Thinner than IPad2 - EVO 4G General

It's official Samsung will launch its 8.9 and 10.1 tablets this summer starting at $469 and $499!!!!
Both are to be thinner than the Ipad 2!
You better believe that Samsung tab is loaded! I wanted something thin like the Ipad 2 but I didn't want the stale iOS not very complex for me.No offense to anyone, and wayyy better priced than the xooom.

Probably! Honestly I just like how Samsung isn't backing down to Apple they go all out with specs and sell chips to Apple so either way they win

Evidence of iphone on sprints own website!!

CHECK IT OUT. See the front left phone? Looks to me to be an IOS Phone.http://www.sprint.com/landings/whatsnew/index.html?INTNAV=LEG:HE:NewStoreComingSoon#
Or you know... the peel that attaches to the Ipod and gives it VOIP capabilities. But hey that's just my guess, unless iphones got a hell of a lot bulkier.
That is a iPhone,in some sort of dock, that's why it looks bulky like that

+1. It's definitely not an iPhone, it's an iPod Touch in a peel.

Samsung developing OCR-stylus app!?!?

When I bought my Tab this past weekend (BB 202 Wilmington DE) there was a Samsung rep there and he was telling me that Samsung is developing a hand writing app to use with a standard stylus. Part of the screen, think where your keyboard will be will be dead as a wrist rest and the screen was designed to be used with line drawing so no lag. So anyway he goes on and says that there is going to be an app like one note coming out as well.
I didn't think anything of it really till i was looking at Samsung's website for a case for this and I saw that one of the accessories was a really nice capacitive typed pens. I just thought it was an odd coincidence. Also I did ask him where he heard this he said he was at Google IO and they were talking about it there. Anybody heard any of this or was this dude full of ish?

This would be cool if it was true. I for one hope that it is.
This feature will make me complete.
I'd love a good handwriting app. Nothing in the market now even comes close to the iPad app

A small tablet?
I use this as the in-between my phone and laptop/desktop. It runs Windows 7 Ultimate, has an 8" 1,280x600 display, a 256GB SSD, GPS, and an imbedded VZW modem. For real stuff, I need a real (not virtual) keyboard. And with any tablet, no matter how thin and light, the crap you have to tote around with it to make it a PC replacement makes it as big as a laptop. Maybe Samsung will be successful but the Dell Streak certainly bombed.

I will buy it it will gid rid of the need of a tablet which is really not needed anyway. I can count on one finger how many phone calls I have made in the last month. Count me in
I will buy it if its not as heavy and bulky as dell streak. Streak is twice the bulk and weight of s2. I need a larger screen as around 90% of stuffs I do with the s2 has been as internet device and pdf reader.

Slightly off topic - samsung-unveils-the-5-3-inch-galaxy

WOW really a 5.3 inch screen with Super AMOLED resolution of 1280x800!!! Wonder if it will come to Sprint (hope so)
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...-note-with-a-1280-x-800-super-amoled-display/
I liked the idea of the streak but my wife made fun of it saying it looked like you had a book on your ear.
I would still like a 5" phone...but with LTE and HSPA this is prolly a Verizon device, right guys?

Imagine though. You just use it with a bluetooth headset. Its big enough to really browse the web and do more data oriented things.
Pair it with a fold up keyboard and think of all you could do. It can be both the tablet and the phone. Get the best of everything to fit in your pocket.
I wouldn't want a 10" tablet anyway because its to big to really use with one hand.
Hope you carry around solar panels to power that thing..

Why would anyone prefer a 4" over 5" phone? That just views my mind... Think outside the box. A 5" phone wouldn't have to be any bigger than the epic. There a ton of wasted space on the epic fire the screen size.

Note 2 theory

I've read a lot on here about people comparing the Note to the Galaxy S3. And the general consensus seems to be the same: They love the speed and updated UI but the lack of the S-Pen and smaller screen were the turn offs. Now consider when the Note first came out, the experience was like a larger S2 with a stylus so it makes sense to theorise that the Note 2 will be a larger S3 with a stylus.
What are everyone's thoughts on this?
