my ms2 is rooted, i used superone click
now i want to go back unroot status. I had factory reset in setting, however the superuser is not deleted.
After that, i use rsd lite 4.5.3 to go back origin rom, however, i meet error that "failed flashing process unable to retrieve initialization for ini file (0x7029)".
and i use rsd 4.9, the table is blank, there is no my ms2 appear.
please show me the way to go back unroot status and convert between the offical roms

Ok theres a bug with RSD Lite 4.9.. download your SBF of: http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2
Install Moto Helper drivers.
Put the .sbf file (You have to unpack the .tar file) into C:/
Shut down your telephone, hold ArrowUP(On the phone) AND PowerButton(On the phone aswell) hold it for like ... 10seconds, then stop. the "Bootloader" screen should appear (Black screen with white font)
If you got that, plugin the USB Cable.
Then open the windows command promt
and type:

cd C:\Program Files\Motorola\RSDlite\
SDL.exe -f [FILENAME].sbf -t 2
Note: Replace "C:\Program Files\Motorola\RSDlite\" with your InstallDIR
and [FILENAME] with the SBF Name (You can rename it to something smaller like: UKSBF.sbf)
Then RSD lite should start .. and flash your phone.. if it doesnt start and shows the 000710something error just try pressing "START" wich should appear after the error..+
PS: Next time use z4root it has a UNroot function

Okay to make you understand:
1) Download the .SBF file and put it to C:/ under the name "test.sbf"
2) Open console
3) Cd to your RSD Lite directory (Wich is normally C:\Program Files\Motorola\RSD Lite\) (CD means you type: cd "C:\Program Files\Motorola\RSD Lite\")
4) Type: SDL.exe -f test.sbf -t 2
5) now rsd should start.

No, use RSD lite to flash the UK rom.

hi guys
i have some problems on my friends htc tatoo
i dont know what he didi,but the phone locked after start up and wanted to sign in whit my google account to unlock!
but i cant access setting to set connection setting for internet
and icant connect with wi-fi network because the phon is lock and i cant turn wi-fi on!
i cant acces recovery menu because the phone wasent rooted and flashed any recovery menu
no nandroid back up exist!

I even tried factory reset (while phone is off - press Menu+Back+TurnOn) but nothing happens.
You can flash the official rom again if you cannot wipe. Running the RUU utility, take the rom.zip from user's temp folder and rename it to CLIKIMG.zip
Then copy it to root of sdcard and reboot to fastboot. I don't remember the key compinations, but you can find them if you search the stickies of this forum.

i done it for now,and the screen lights is on and off repetitive and it takes until i pushed the buttons,then when i release the menu+back keys,the phone boots and still the same problem

I can't help you if you don't know what rom you have. You can try them though, if is they aren't suitable the didn't flash.
You must run RUU utility from pc, and will extract the rom.zip file in your temp folder.
You can access fastboot if you power off the device and hold volume down and power button. After that in fastboot you can flash the rom pushing the volume down key.

i tried the version RUU_Click_HTC_Asia_WWE_SEA_1.67.728.8_release_signed_NoDriver
from the link in my previouse post,
nothing was extarcted ! its begining to update rom just from pc to phone!
i installed htc synce for android devices it first and fortunately the phone was found by pc!during it was in lock screen!
i did run the update file and its begining to flash the phone
atlast the phone flashed and the new version startig up

Yes, I searched. I have a GS2 Locked to Virgin Mobile in Canada.
First off, I have a mac, so the whole rooting/unlocking thing seems to be impossible as ODIN and the other programs are all .exe's.
I tried buying a code online and they said they couldn't unlock it and most others sites don't like the phone as compatible.
What are my options here?

I have used Heimdall and it works
I'm struggling here. heimdall doesn't read .tar. I extract the tar and I just get an zimage and nothing more.
It seemed simpler on Odin, but I'm lost on this.
Take tar or the zimage and put it in the kernel slot and hit flash, it's less picky about the file type.

I appreciate the help, but it's not that simple. It says firmware.xml is missing when I put it under the load package tab under firmware.
When I put it under the flash tab, it says not a valid PIT type. These are the only two places I can select a file.

could you verify that you have managed to flash with latest version of Heimdall? i have tried everything with beta2, 1.3 and it simply refused to work. i just used a pc to update to latest version, and i have no files to flash to test (it's been one day and if something happens i have to reintsall everything again), so if you could verify this, or teach me a trick or two to get it to work, it will be much appreciated
FWIW, I loaded 1.1 and it was not compatible. 1.2 looked the same as 1.3 for me.
SGS2 has only been supported from version 1.2 onwards, maybe try the newest 1.3 that's just been released.
I have never used it apart from on windows, it looks like you may need to give it a pit before it will do anything.
You should be able to find it in an official rom, when I get home in 4-5 hours ill have a look at it.

HOWTO: flashing via Heimdall Suite 1.3.0
1) put your phone into download mode
2) connect to pc
3) load Heimdall GUI
4) click Utility tab
5) click detect device (if it detected goto 6, if not install drivers which should come with Heimdall)
6) click save as under "download pit", save it somewhere easy to find with a name like SGS2 (no need to add .pit)
7) hit download
8) phone will reboot, put back into download mode
9) click "flash" tab
10) click "browse" near the top and select your pit you saved earlier
11) on the righthand side there is a window saying "Partitions(files)" click "add" below it
12) select "kernel" on the lefthand side below "partition details"
13) click Browse below "partition details", select the kernel you want
It should now look like the attached pic
If it does, hit Start, and it should flash
i think problem with mac is still there :
although i have yet to try flash a ROM or parts of it, to see if it could successfully flash it.

at last step, that you will return to WM and nothing happened,
that should be wrong shipped ROM that you install,
please check your IMEI number at HTC website
and download the right shipped ROM again.
Reinstall recovery if it doesn't work..
Then enter recovery, go to "Mounts and Storage Menu" and mount usb...
Copy the .zip file and install it

When you are in fastboot (photon connected) launch recovery.bat
It will reboot, and to enter recovery just keep "volume +" at white screen and wait for menu

first of all thank you for your help, when i get to the recovery menu i try go to mount and storage then mount usb storage and i have access through the computer to the sd card i copied the sense 3.5 went to install zip from sdcard chose the file and it wrote finding packege then opening packege and then it get stuck whats wrong?
it could be long (10-30 mins), depends of your sd card.
Maybe your sd card isn't very good and not compatible with android.
Try to format your sdcard or try another sdcard

(REMIND: I tried on Windows 7 but it doesn't work, it needs Windows XP!!!) 1) download and install drivers drom file V788D驱动, download from page: w w w . zte. co m. cn/cndata/mobile/mobileinfo/201204/t20120405_299693.h tm l (maybe needs reboot) 2) download three programs from post from b b s. malshenzu. c om/read-htm-tid-107055-fpage-2.ht m l , 3)copy root_73356 zip file to SD card. 3) unzip and install MotoHelper_2140_Driver_550, 4) link USB cable 5)unzip and run recovery_V788_v2 , it flash the chinese flasher(if not or if it stops on WO screen, remove battery and reboot and try again, I did it twice. 6) reboot to recovery (sound up and power button) . 7) on chinese screen find 从SD卡选择刷机机包 , choose your root_73356 zip file on SD card, enter and it will flash root. 8) reboot 重启, and that is it, ROOT!

Appendix: If you succesfully flash root (or ROM) you can discover that if reboot to recovery, it is back in factory english recovery. If you want upload the chinese recovery flasher to V788D again, it doesn't work. The very simply SOLUTION: 1) after install RE(root explorer) go to /system/ and erase the recovery-from-boot.p file 2) go to system/etc and erase the install-recovery.sh file. 3) on windows XP run the recovery_V788_v2.exe and reflash it again. Reboot phone to recovery and you have got the chinese recovery again ! ! !

Installation:
Extract the rar file
Move the downloading "system.img" file to the root of your phone's internal storage
Once this has been done, POWER OFF your phone normally and disconnect from PC. After LED stops blinking (OFF properly), Hold the UP VOLUME key and re-insert the USB cable from your PC to your phone. If done correctly, you should see DOWNLOAD MODE in small font in middle of the screen. it will then display another screen with text: FIRMWARE UPDATE (a USB logo) a warning to not unplug and a status bar at 0%.
On a windows PC, Start a command prompt (Start > Run > cmd) and navigate to the unzipped contents folder of LG Root (which is downloaded for LG g4 Root process). (On my PC, the command prompt line after navigation to my unzipped folder looks like C:\Users\star\Desktop\LG_Root\ ).
Let's verify the COM port your phone is connected to. double click the file "ports.bat" in LG_Root folder. Look for the COM number that corresponds to "DIAG1". **WRITE DOWN / REMEMBER THE COMM PORT NUMBER!** Let's assume it's COM3. Click any key/exit this window now...
copy/paste or type this command MAKING SURE THE RIGHT COMM NUMBER IS ENTERED: Send_Command.exe \\.\COM3
You should see Author: blog.lvu.kr and SPECIAL COMMAND : ENTER, LEAVE on 2 lines followed by a hashtag (#). If you are up to this point, type id and press ENTER
You should get back some text starting with "uid=(0)root gid=(0)root".
If it worked for you, from here run the command below (copy/paste next to the # and press ENTER)
dd if=/data/media/0/system.img bs=8192 seek=55296 count=529920 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
If you've done this correctly, as soon as you've pressed ENTER, you'll see a blinking cursor, probably for a few minutes. Basically the pre-rooted system image you are FLASHING to your phone is being written, so it may take a few minutes. When complete, you should see #. If you see this, it's DONE! Type LEAVE (in CAPS)and press ENTER. Your phone should then restart... Here's mine, it worked like charm!

you need to flash the marshmallow rom in the nougat thread to revert back to marshmallow after that flash lollipop kdz and follow the above instruction
I am on stock MM V20h can I upload this rom? Do I need to downgrade to LP? Can I go back to stock MM after trying this rom?
