I'm sure you could use root explorer to edit the values
The question remains whats the location of that??? way too many folders and subfolders to look thru
thats why i disable the auto and set it for manual
Maybe some else will know the location

Disable timesetting by clicking the clock

Hi guys,
my problem is that i sometimes click the clock unmeant an it will load the time setting.
Is there a workaround to disable the clock to get into the timestetting by click on it?
Thanks a lot!
I would love to know if there is a workaround to this as well. I find this very annoying
There prolly is a way to disable it somewhere in the registry, though I haven't looked. But what u can do is set it to load something else (i have it loading GAlarm which is really convenient)
Could you tell us exactly what setings did you change to open Galarm via clicking the clock?

Display brightness

The Display brightness is too low. It is hard to see, if ambient light is higher.
Does anybody know, how to controll autolight in registry?

U don´t need registry. Goto Start, Settings, System, Powersettings and deselect "...set automatically". Now u can set brightness with the sliders.

Thank you, I know this, but I want that phone controls the light automaticly and there is more light on display. If I deselect " set automatically", it is necissary to move the slider for a while.

device auto lock and off when i want use Garmin

hi all
i want to use garmin for 30 min or much but after 1 min my device lights goes off and then display off and lock what can i do for disable auto device lock and auto off after 1 min
BR
weird, i don't have that problem.. try configuring your GMXT, go to settings --> display --> backlight override and check all boxes..
p/s: if u wanna enable auto rotate so that u could view the maps in widescreen mode, add these codes to your registry..
for hkcu\software\htc\htcsensor\gsensor\modulename, add registry value "Garmin Mobile XT" = "\Garmin\Que.exe"
for hkcu\software\htc\htcsensor\gsensor\WhiteList, add registry value "Garmin Mobile XT" = "QUE_SUBAPP_WND_CLASS"
Garmin in landscape
Hi, thanks for the tip!
I always wanted to see GMXT in landscape, but didn't know how to do it.
I have copy/pasted values to the suggested locations, but nothing happened.
The registry values I have created are string values. Should I try with e.g. dword, or something else?

hi man i check all boxe in setting -> display -> backlight but after one minute my device goes to lock stat and after that my display goes off .
i want registry address for time of suspend mode for device to lock and change it to example 20 min

Maybe you should check only the first one that says "always on".

have u tried re-installing the GMXT..?
non of your help is useful we need registry value change for that
I'm having the same problem. Garmin worked perfectly for the last 2 months up until last week. now it locks automatically (but you still have to press the unlock button to be able to slide across the tab) and it loses satellite reception for a second. To avoid it I have to, say zoom in or out on the map, every 50 seconds otherwise it locks after it reaches a minute.
Has anyone found a solution or is it just a case of reinstalling it?
Sorry to revive this thread but I also have this problem. "Backlight Override" is checked but still have the lock come on after a minute or so. Really annoying. I also try reinstalling but no help.
Could this have something to do with CHT editor's lockscreen? or BSB tweak's setting? Just a thought. I have been using Android mostly so haven't got time to test out all the setting to see if it will make any difference.
as a work around, can you just change your backlight settings when you need to use garmin?

[Q] Backlight setting help

I think this is a problem specific to the HD2 - basically, when i leave the phone on the auto backlight setting, it is too bright and therefore draining the battery. of course, setting it manually is a pain and it needs changing as conditions change etc.
What i am wonder is if there is any way of changing the auto so that it is consistently less bright? I have had a dig through the regedit but not really sure what i am looking for or doing!
I was guessing that there was a value that would be assigned to the brightness above the ambient brightness (from the light sensor) - can anyone enlighten me further?
Many thanks (and also for all those other posts i have used to help me make my phone exactly as i like it... CHT, BsB, Scilor etc!)
try Lumos.
nice. almost does too much! but good bit of software thus far. now to do some benchmarking... if only the sun would shine!
Controlling Backlight Settings
I took a different approach to resolve my problem -- keeping auto backlight turned off, but easily changing the backlight settings when I needed to change them. I created a shortcut called Backlight.lnk (that's a lowercase "L", not an "I" I discovered). I used a text editor and put in this line:
12#Powerexe.exe 2 - backlight tab
I saved it with the name Backlight.lnk and copied it to my Start/Programs folder using File Explorer. I moved the shortcut to the top of the Start menu where I can get to it quickly. I just tap Start and the shortcut icon and I am at the Backlight screen where I can quickly change the backlight level or the timeout settings. This saves a few taps compared with going in through the Settings screen.
I had tried Lumos and another program I found on the MS Marketplace, but both caused other problems for me.
PS: I found the line above in a posting at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645916
It's an excellent tutorial on creating all kinds of shortcuts.
Try MVBKLight.
Very handy popup (plus a usefull torch).
I have both Auto and Manual controls. With links I immediately switch between sensor and the MVBKLight slider.
Try searching for autobacklight toggle. Basically, its an icon which when pressed on main screen enables disables autobacklight. So much better than lumos.

Auto brightness code

Hi Devs
I need some help to set my own auto brightness values. Attached is the framework can someone please help me find the code for auto brightness.
The frame work I am using can be found at the below link:

Regards,
lol so many views and no reply
no one know what should I do??? :s
I am also interested in this field.
I would start with a simple cronjob that reads brightness.
Do you know, where to read it?
background:
For the Motorola's there is some magic setting, boosting the backlight.
Would like to set it, if brightness is over a certain threshold and set back if it is below another level. Sounds easy ...
