Emdebian on HD2 - HD2 Ubuntu Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and General

Is it possible to port Embedded Debian http://www.emdebian.org/ on HD2?
I think it must run much better than ubuntu, because ubuntu uses the same base as debian, but too fat!..

Gonna explore about this.. Thanks!

Linux on HTC?

Hi there!
I was just wondering if anyone got linux up and running on one of this phones (especially I'm interested in the s730). Some kind of openmoko on a HTC would just be really great
So anyone - any information?
thx
Ali
EDIT:
I think, it should be possible, cause Android seems to run (better: is designed to run) on Qualcomm MSM7k series...
nothing? nobody?

There is a thread here about running win95 using bochs. I want to try to run DSL on bochs the problem is that i cannot find the wince version of the emu. If that is successfull i am looking at building a small gentoo system using matchbox as the window manager. Unless i can find a wince port for gtk that is
look up the WIKI and u will find all your answers
@cornelha:
bochs isn't the best solution when it goes down to linux. I think using the right compiled kernel (for arm9/11) would do it...
@ather90:
thanks
will look into that

[Q] How can I install ubuntu or other linux on my hTc Wildfire?

Good day,
I want to setup ubuntu or debian on my wildfire

Uhhm Ubuntu is a OS for Desktop Computers..

everything is possible..
But it is probably not worth the work, it is really alot of work included to do anything like that.. and I dont think it would run smoothly either

[Q] ReactOS Port to HD2

Its possible to port the win32 compatible ReactOS on the hd2 doing so it boot natively (without bochs or qemu)? It would be great!
I hope that devs a near day do it...
Isn't it just like Win98 ? Why would you want it on your HD2 ?
No, it's like windows xp (apart for the shell), it's compatible with ARM processors natively and it's FREE

[Q] Rename forum to HD2: Linux?

I find it a bit troubling that this forum is called HD2: Ubuntu, when the latest Ubuntu build here is utterly outdated, tons of other Linux distros have been featured, and that the only viable Linux release on the HD2 is based on Debian.
Why not just rename it to HD2: Linux? On that same topic, we should merge the HD2 Meego forum into this one, it's Linux in itself, and any development involving Mer or Meego would use the same AD SD method. (though it's not like much work is going into that anyway...)
Following your logic we can merge android development in here too. Ubuntu is linux as much as android is linux. Linux is just the kernel and the whole OS use GNU software together with the Linux kernel, thats why these OS shuld be called GNU/Linux distributions, and not Linux distributions. I would suggest renaming it to HD2: GNU/Linux.
agree with you
