can transfer Android market apps to samsung Wave 2? - Galaxy Tab General

helo
my fren is using samsung wave II - Abada Operating system ....
i am using Tab - Android
can i transfer Android apps that i downloaded from Android market .... to her samsung wave?
if yes... them how to transfer to her ?
thanks!!

Bada is a different os compared to Android. Also the market for Bada isn't managed by Google. Unless the apps have a Bada version, there will be no way to use them... It's the same as if you had an iPhone, bought iMovie and wanted to use it on a Galaxy S (or any other phone for the matter): it's not going to happen. If instead you had bought Asphalt for the iPhone, you couldn't get it on the Galaxy S even if it has the needed version on the Market: you'd have to pay for the Android version, too, as it's different from the iPhone one and you'd have bought it from Apple and not from Google.

Samsung App Store Kies

When I connect my phone to my PC, Kies says my phone is not supported when attempting to use the app store....
WHAT THE **** SAMSUNG? Are you kidding me?
Please watch your language! no profanities in the forum, Thanks
I noticed this to yet the phone comes preinstalled with Samsung Appstore with about 14 available applications/games
Appstore is made around Samsung's "old" os, Bada.
SGS is build around Android.
For Android, Use market. I don't know if they plan to rewrite SamsungApps to work on Android since Market works pretty well!

COMPARISON: Purchasing Apps from Samsung Apps Store versus Android Market

Is it advisable to purchase any particular app from the Samsung App Store or should one buy it from the Android Market?
In my opinion, one should prefer to buy any particular app from the android market rather than Samsung Appstore which is yet to grow with even basic professional relevance!!!
I am saying this after I have had this experience...
Last week I bought SPLASHTOP REMOTE DESKTOP from Samsung App store on my Galaxy Note for about 0.99 USD. There were few noticeable differences:
First thing I immediately noticed was that the version I downloaded (1.6.0.5) was OLDER than the corresponding one available (1.6.5.6) on Android Market.
Still I preferred to buy the app from Samsung App store as it was much cheaper (0.99 USD) as compared to the one available on android market (USD 4.99).
Just two days after this I noticed the CERAMIC WHITE model of NOTE and of course could not resist the temptation of owning it, so gifted my (erstwhile) dark blue NOTE to my bro (after factory resetting it!!!, which my bro is now using with all his relevant google/samsung account credentials!!)
And this is where I learnt that because I "changed" my device, I can not REDOWNLOAD my "purchased" app from SAMSUNG APP STORE despite regitering with same Samsung Apps account!!. This is so very weird, as I have been seamlessly transitioning my all apps to my all new devices just by ensuring that I have the same google/android account registered on my new device.
I tried to restore my app through Kies, but in vain, then I tried to get in touch with customer support at Sumsung App Store and which is when I noticed that that they have a very LOUSY and LAME UI, that just leads no where.
Needless to mention, I purchased the app again, but this time from the android market. Although I had to shell out USD 4.99 (instead of 0.99), I find its worth it as now I have a app, that is LATEST VERSION (yes, in this example of splashtop, it has significant change of opting for custom resolution of native device), and that I will be able to use on as long as I want, even after I move over to any new device (of course there is nothing better than Galaxy Note as of now!!).
So in conclusion, Samsung App store SUCKS while Android Market is far much ahead. Thus in my opinion, assuming all fundamentals remain uniform, its better to purchase an APP from ANDROID MARKET rather that Samsung App Store!!!
Go on getjar.com and download the getjar app. Follow this link getjar.com/mobile/76092/splashtop-r...1exu1ijoujnhdvyb&c=byosqnnawl4xis5cC9&lang=en and you'll have it for free.
Personally I uninstall getjar afterwards as it is running as service in the background.
As these paid apps are offered for free they are not updated by the android market.

It is simple thing, Samsung application can be redownloaded to Samsung device only, (and it is even more strange when it not supports change of device.)
Android purchase will work with any Android device, if you change in future, as it is linked to your Gmail.
And thats Y i think, samsung store provides somwat cheaper thn Android Market. But in long term it cost more.
Very right dr.ketan, its indeed strange that it does not support device change too even if one changes to a different device of Samsung make!! And that's why I reiterate that although on one end they make superb devices as NOTE, on the other end soft serves like their app store, their kies... lack professional relevance
I wish Samsung guys are serious enough to listen to the forum members and take all this as feedback to improve their soft services with needful
"And this is where I learnt that because I "changed" my device, I can not REDOWNLOAD my "purchased" app from SAMSUNG APP STORE despite regitering with same Samsung Apps account!!"
For me, the solution to this is... If I buy something, I own it (which is why I don't buy apple). I can make a back up of CD's, DVD's etc.. that I have paid for. It is the same with apps. I don't care if I'm slated/criticised/abused, after I have bought an app I will find an apk on the net as a backup should I change my phone or flash it. or use 'app backup and restore'.
I have spent far too much time in the past with customer (don't)care trying to find out if they would let me redownload apps I have purchased when I change my phone..
If i purchase an App from Android Market.... And if i change my phone say after 2 years OR Hard Reset, will i still be able to download it to my new phone just by login into my google account? Also, for how long does the developer provide update once purchased an app...

As I have experienced, you may change or hard reset you device unlimited times and still you will continue to enjoy the benefits of being a licensed user of the app, and thus you will be able to download it unlimited times, as long as you continue to have android OS and the same GOOGLE account.
As far as developers support is concerned, I have no precise idea on this, although I feel the support depends on developers commitment to the product. May be I should add here that as I have seen in last 2 years (ever since I am using android) I have been getting updates to my older apps even now, if at all there is a newer version.
Even on the Android market you can have trouble if either google or the developer remove the paid app or release a different version then the old app you purchased is no longer there so if you change your device then you are stuffed and either have to purchase your asp again or you won't get it. For example see the dice player which had paid versions but google removed it and now only free advertisement supported version is available.see comments section for the asp where paid customers are cribbing that now they can't instal paid app on new phone.
Loads of other examples like train times UK app had free version two years ago without ads but later was removed and new paid version came up but when you get new phone then the old asp no longer existson the market.

Missing Galaxy S III support for Samsung TV’s

For those with one of the newer Samsung Smart TV’s there no S3 compatible versions of the Samsung Remote or Samsung Smart View apps on Play, which I used a lot on my S1, and apparently we’ll have to wait until late summer for an update to get Allshare Cast working directly with these TV's. It’s a bit of a disappointment. I’m sure updates will arrive eventually, but it’s a shame the phone’s not feature complete at launch.

Yes, I wonder if it has something to do with the WiFi chipset or Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS)? I used to run the Samsung remote app on all of my phones, but I noticed my HTC EVO 4G LTE (basically the One X with MicroSD and kickstand) is not compatible with either of the newer Samsung apps.
I guess I will keep my OG Samsung Epic around for QWERTY remote duties.
I got smart view to work on my galaxy S3, but I used the titanium backup from my galaxy S2
no idea what fixed it, haven't got it running on my gf's S3 yet...
Actually, I tore apart the Samsung remote apps to take a peek as I'm an Android Developer.
Anyone who does Android Dev will appreciate what I have to say next:.
The remote app consists of almost a 100 layouts all written using Absolute Layout, at best, the remote doesn't align on the screen buttons overlap etc, at worst, it crashes on startup from bitmap allocations exceeding the VM heap. Which is what happens on the S3..
Samsung got some really sh*t devs to write the remote and I've already emailed offering to rewrite it lol, but alas, the email, via the market url probably went direct to those devs.
I did get it working on my note by rewriting a few of the layouts but got bored after about 20.

does anyone have issues with using the Allshare Cast/Play?
My samsung tv recognizes my s3/comp but when i attempt to open the internal storage music or video folders, my tv freezes. idk what the issue is.
Pls change the title, there is still dlna and mhl.

I just dl`ed the samsung smart view .apk after googling a while to find it.
It is version 3.2.0 and it works 100% for my samsung bluray player BD-E8300. Both the smart view and the remote control. I just dont see why samsung wont release it officially via the app store.
Is samygo an option for your tv? Just the remote or remote and hacked tv.
Fully working version 3.2.0

There is a version on play store released recently, that's compatible with sgs3.
Including working dual view feature for high end tv and bluray.
Note 2 not supported still. If you force install, like restoring sgs3 titanium backup, dual view does not work, but remote does. This artificial prohibition started with 3.2.1. So 3.2.0 works for both sgs3 and sn2, while latest works fully only for sgs3.

"S Note" application /samsung disappointment. BEWARE

I used S note a lot on galaxy Note.
Then bought Note 2 - used S-note even more.
Then I bought Note 10.1 - and got dissapointed, the S-note app for 10.1 were older and missed some fetures.
Now I bought Note 3 - a much newer "S note" app, that converts the notes to a new format. - that note 10.1 never got an update for...
So. using Samsung proprietary app, which they (dirty bastards) do not update using Google Play, is a big fail. It makes me stuck with old version of the app, something that would not happen to any normal Android app on google Play.
Morale of this story is: do not trust apps that are not updated via google play for all devices.
Solution ?
I've tried to copy the note3.apk from note3 to my note 10.1 , but for some reason, it fails to install every time.. and I do not know why ?

I was hoping that the update that just came out would of had the new S-Note app in it.
I hope someone can convert it over for Note 10.1 2013 use..

DAMN
just bought the 10.1 yesterday BECAUSE of the s-note?!??!?!!
damnit!!!
have you tried copying over the note2.apk?
I think it's flat out ridiculous that we have to be stuck with old versions of software because the companies are too greedy and only focuses on new products and selling new hardware/software. I mean we've been on 4.1.2 since release and 4.3 is rolling out to other devices. Couldn't we at least be on 4.2.2? Come on Saumsung. I love your devices but this is craziness.

Check out Lecture Notes, works well & offers may more features than all versions of stock software. Since when do the hardware mfg's have to offer all software? They don't provide updates via Android Store because they can offer updates via firmware, so why should they have to pay Google for a service they already provide? My advise open your wallet instead of your mouth.

Well, Samsung does not need to pay google for free updates via Play, - and could resctrict it to their devices.
On the other hand, they could provice updates using Samsung apps market, which they do not....
finally you write "because they can offer updates via firmware" - and that's the main problem: they did not.
- While you are prety cocky with "My advise open your wallet instead of your mouth" - you brought one great suggestion for an app... purchased.
thanks.
Trying to understand the issue ...
I must be missing something here. My notes work fine on my Note 10.1 (2012 edition) and my Note II.
There are some minor differences, but I can still read them on both devices.
OP is fruatrated because not all Samsung devices are using the same version of note-taking software, right?

My take is the newest version on the Note 3 will convert notes from 2/10 to a newer format. And the 2/10 do not YET have the newer version of SNote to use the newer format.

Ahhh, so when you work on things with your Note 3, they are no longer compatible with your Note 2/10.1(2012) ... that's no good.
What happens when you try to open them? Would you be willing to share a screenshot of an error or ... ? Your Note II/10.1 just won't see them?

The converted notes become invisible for old s note application. (not much to screenshot)
I would share the current s-note3 app if anyone is better at finding out why it won't install on the 10. 1

It will probably roll out with the next OS update. Samsung committed to take the 10.1 as far as 5.0. I'm betting it will go to 4.3 before Christmas since compatibility with Gear needs 4.3 and they want you to buy a Gear for Christmas!

2 or 3 weeks
I had the same problem called the dutch samsung helpdesk he told me this problem would be fixed when 10.1 update to 4.3 in about 2 to 3 weeks.

The new SNOTE stores its files in a differnent folder on the sd card and in additon, the old snote could handle folders of notes, but the new one doesn't seem to support this.
EDIT: It does support folder but you have to tap the "recent note" and then the menu allows you to create a folder. The only way to possible share between verison I can see is to export from Note3 to pdf and then import the pdf in Note 2. Sucks..

I was also quite disappointed with S Note. I used Samsung Note 10.1 (2012)'s S Note extensively, and sync them to the Samsung account. Just bought the 2014 Note 10.1, and to my surprise, the old S Notes don't sync over.
I resorted to Syncing with Evernote, and then opening up in Evernote in the 2014 edition. When I click on the notes, it says I have to covert them to the new format. When I did, it looked like everything was mucked up. Diagrams all went out of alignment etc.
Anyone know what to do to get around this??

The best would be if somebody managed to install note3.apk from a newer device, on the 10.1
Do you still have the old one? If so export the notes to PDF. Maybe lots of work but should get them moved.

Samsung App Store say Nokia HERE could not be installed on my Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 :crying:
I've seen around that that application is available for Galaxy's series with 1GB RAM : My tablet conforms to that spec, so why is it unavailable
What exactly are the restrictions to have HERE installed ?

I think now it's available for all Android devices, not only Samsung's anymore.
You need to download apk:
