[Q] Not reporting FLAC Support - Galaxy Tab General

I have Songbird installed on my PC with an extensive FLAC Library of albums in FLAC Format.
When I move these files to my Galaxy Tab manually they play just fine in my music library. However when I try to sync with Songbird they get converted to either OOG or WMA.
In the device Information reported by Songbird it lists device support for the following formats;
3gp, aac, bmp, gif, jpeg, jpg, m3u, m4a, mp3, oga, oog, png, wav, wma
Since I know that the galaxy Tab plays FLAC files, How do I get Android to report to my PC (e.g. Songbird) that it in fact supports FLAC?
Thanks

I think it's impossible to find... right?

TCPMP doesn't work on my htc wizard

hello, i have tcpmp on my phone but when i want to play videos it doesn't play. it disappear from the scren.... help please
It sounds like the files may be in an invalid format, you may be running out of memory, or your version of TCPMP may just be corrupt or buggy (or wrong version for Wiz).
Verify the files you are trying to play fall within TCPMP's format list:
Wikipedia said:
TCPMP supports many audio, video, and image formats, including AC3, HE-AAC, AMR, DivX, FLAC, H.263, H.264, JPEG, Monkey's Audio, MJPEG, MPEG-1, MP2, MP3, Musepack, MS-MPEG4-v3, PNG, Speex, TIFF, TTA, Vorbis, WAV, WavPack and XviD. It supports many container formats, including 3GP, ASF, AVI, Matroska, MPEG, OGG, OGM and QuickTime. Some formats, such as H.264, require a plugin, which may hamper performance.

And then close all other running programs, clear all your temp files, and try it again.
If that doesn't work, try unloading TCPMP and installing this version:
http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.exe
It's the last stable version for PocketPCs before the project was converted over to "Core Media."
(You may have inadvertently installed the smartphone version, and that won't work, either.)
Thanks
Hi buddy!! thanks for the link... it works now! thank Q

Anyone Played a M4V File

Has anyone use the built in player or windows media player to play a .M4V file.
HTC website says its supported, but Windows Media reports a problem and the built in player, accessed via albums, does display the file in question. Although it does seem to count it when you use the library selector.
I have posted a question to HTC support who says .M4V isn't supported, see below, but the specifications on the HTC website definately say it is supported.
I really want to know if M4V files are supported by default, but am interested to know if anyone has played this format using other players, such as CorePlayer etc.
Please note I do not want to convert the file from M4V to another format.

Best regards,
Got a Response from HTC
.M4V (Itunes MP4 files) are supported but not if DRM is included.
I have now played one but the full HTC response is below.
Dear customer, M4V files are used for TV episodes, movies, and music videos in the iTunes Store. .M4V files are similar to .MP4 files, both of which are MP4 files. The difference is that M4V files are opened with iTunes player by default. MP4 files are opened with Quicktime player by default. The copyright of M4V files may be protected by using Apple's FairPlay DRM copyright protection. To play a protected M4V file, the computer needs to be authorized (using iTunes) with the account that was used to purchase the video. However, unprotected M4V files may be recognized and played by other video players by changing the file extension from ‘.m4v’ to ‘.mp4’. M4V files contain DRM and the purchasing users info. It is recommended to use Requiem to remove the DRM and remux this into mkv. About the file in your storage card, when you try to opne in the album viewer not recognized the file and when you try with the windows media player then recognised the file because it have the codec in the data base inside the application. Convert MKV AC3 audio to AAC

Maybe this area has been covered before by using Handbrake, but I've found another useful utility XMedia Recode (google it, I am a n00b here so I can't post external link).
This tools already has a build-in A500 profile! But what I really want is to make sure the video stream intact and just convert the audio to AAC, since many of my mkv files are already in h264 format and there is no reason to waste time on re-encoding the video part and degrade the video quality. A500 plays those mkv videos fine but only without sound. This tool has a "video copy" option, this will bypass the video re-encoding part and just convert the audio channels. Converting a 1GB 720p MKV AC3 to AAC only takes less than a minute (limited by harddisk speed I think). A500 now can play the mkv smoothly.... and also with sound!!!!
I second this app. I have been using it for a while for Xbox playback and it works flawlessly.
So I says to Mable I says ...
I used this quickly the other day before flying, and it seemed to work really well. I used the method described above, using "copy video" and all. It seemed to work really well...at first. The video is fine and the audio plays, until it doesn't. What I mean is, the audio plays but then stops for no reason while the video continues. If I rewind and play the same part again the audio is fine this time, again until it stops.
This is the case for the like 4 different video players I've used. Do you think it's the file, or should I try even more video players? Thanks.
One easy to use solution is here

hehe,this is good.
i tried this app a few mins ago.audio is perfect, but the video which converted by"video copy" is still slowly or stoped sometimes .but this app is still worthy to try!
i recommend iDealshare VideoGo which can work as either a AC3 encoder or AC3 decoder.
Acting as an AC3 Decoder, it easily helps:
Convert AC3 audio to other audio formats like convert AC3 to WAV, convert AC3 to AAC, convert AC3 to AIFF, convert AC3 to FLAC, convert AC3 to M4A, MP3, WMA, OGG, AU, RA, MP2, DTS and etc.
Convert video with AC3 audio codec to video with other audio codec like AAC, MP3, MP2, DCA, PCM, WMA etc. You may choose to keep or change the output video format like convert MKV with AC3 to MP4 with AAC.
Convert video with AC3 audio to audio format like convert MKV with AC3 to MP3 audio.
Acting as an AC3 encoder, it easily helps:
Convert almost all popular audio formats to AC3 like convert DTS to AC3, convert FLAC to AC3, convert APE to AC3, convert to AC3 from Apple Lossless ALAC, AMR, QCP, CAF, VOC, VQF and etc.
Convert video with various audio codec to video with AC3 codec as well as keep or change the video format like convert MKV with FLAC codec to MKV with AC3 codec.
Change AC3 audio channel like from AC3 stereo to AC3 5.1/6 channel, from Dolby Digital 5.1 AC3 to Mono or Stereo AC3
I found Bigasoft Audio Converter on Google and gave it a try. It works well to convert ac3 to aac on my side. Try it!
I use Dice player on my A500 to play MKV files with AC3
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inisoft.mediaplayer.a
in my opinion, mkv in ac3 is better then aac, so why change it?

Same question
Faasoft's great "Audio Converter" is the best choice to convert ac3 to aac.
You may prefer to a step by step guide named "Faa AC3 Converter - How to Convert AC3 to AAC, MP3, WAV, FLAC, WMA, M4A, AIFF, ALAC, etc on Mac and Windows?" which inform us how to convert AC3 files to MP3, AAC, M4A, WMA, FLAC, etc.
Hope it will help you more or less.
I found Dice player was able to playback AC3 encoded videos more recently you needed to install an open source codec as they were no allowed to bundle it.

MP3 music files are not displayed with visual effects on several music players

Only in S6 edge+ (plus) the visual effects do not work with MP3 music.
Visual effects: SPECTRUM / OSCILLOSCOPE / WAVE
Other music formats: AAC, AMR, FLAC, M4A, OGG, WAV and WMA previews work properly.
Various music players have the problem, especially the MusiX Pro.
Anyone else have this problem and had found a solution?
Thanks,
Florencio Mello
