[Q] Help! Download of paid app stuck! - Atrix 4G General

I purchased Dungeon defenders HD on my atrix, and sent it to my ATT bill. I got an email confirming the purchase went through seconds later. 30 hours later the app is still "authorizing download" wtf. I left it on all of last night but it didn't download.
Help?

this exact same thing happened to me on a different app. It didn't take 30 hours, but it came through eventually. probably too late to get a refund, as I think it's a 15 minute window.

30 mins window.
Try calling up AT&T and asking for a refund.

cancel the download then redownload it. Im sure it wont charge you but ask someone here how to do it. I think you go into app history or something. I don't have an atrix and haven't used an android phone for like 3 months.

Had a similar problem today.
Emailed Android Market tech support and they issued me a refund even though it was past the 15 minute mark.

I don't want a refund... I just want the game

I've had this before - just killed the market and re-downloaded it. I didn't wait 30 hours though

I had the same problem. I let it run and 20 minutes later it went through.

i tried to buy a app andit wont give me the option to bill my att account?? it just says add credit card.

You need to set up a google checkout account

OK guys, now I really need help! qq
I cancelled the download, but fortunately the market knew I had purchased it, so I still have the option to redownload. I did all the crazy troubleshooting, killing the market, airplane mode on/off, signing in and out of google talk, and THEN I tried to download it again...
It's still authorizing.... WTF

I really need help...
Anybody?

Market pad apps server error

Is this normal? I made the switch to root today and attempted to buy an app for 4.99 I wanted and received this error:
Attention
A server error has occured.
Retry or cancel and return to
the previous screen
Retry Cancel
If I retry it never goes through.
I checked google and I have a pending google charge for 1 dollar, but I think that's just for verification.
bump
Any ideas???
I get this every once in a while. I think its usually when im flipping back and forth between EDGE and 3G because of location.
I've been trying it every couple of hours for the last day and it gave me the error everytime.
I switched over to my wiFI and received the same error.
did you pay your bill?
Turn off your phone and dont kill any programs in any program you might have and try again.
It's my first month. Don't have a bill yet.
I tried restarting my phone and also wiped it using Alt + W
i would like to add this.
i just received this error as well, i have root, and it wasnt there earlier today.
im rebooting atm to see if that fixes.. i definately have data.. just i get an error going to the market.
Did they shut down paid apps to root somehow? I can click on any free app/game.. just not the paid ones.
Yeah I just wipped my phone again and took out my sim then put it back and try again... No luck.
Every paid app goes to Authenticating credit card then I get the error.
I also tried a different credit card.
hmmm... I have had no trouble... You should be contacting Google. Maybe your account is suspended for some reason. Abuse?
yeah thats what it is. Whats weird is I only have 1 order from buy.com that I used google checkout with. I created another gmail account and was able to purchase an app.
Sorry for the false alarm.

Stuck at Authorizing Purchase in Market

Anybody else get this and ever find a fix?
Tons of info out there.
Downloading RemoteWave for my boss's new Incredible from Verizon. Purchase went through OK and got a receipt from Google Checkout.
App shows purchased, then I click Install, says app will be downloaded, then the details just sits at the Authorizing Purchase screen.
Tried everything, but nothing works...not doing a wipe, boss's phone, don't want to screw with that.
Free apps download and install just fine.
Thanks
Did you report it to http://groups.google.com/group/androidremote ?

I emailed the developer. Haven't got a reply in the past 2hrs...not sure how often he checks his email, or if that is even his real email in the product details on the market.
Thanks
How long have you tried letting it sit at autorizing purchase? I had that happen once and I let it sit for like 10 mins on 3g not wifi and it went through finally. Hope that helps...

It worked today. The developer emailed me back, nice guy. Seems like it could take upwards of a day for it to finally go through and allow download.
Tried it this morning, boom, no problem. Stupid google...they are really running an amateur hour operation compared to Apple when it comes to their mobile devices, store etc...
Gave up on mine
I tried for days to purchase Alien World Abduction. Every time I would sit there and hunt and peck out my complete mailing address, my credit card, number, etc. only to then be met with invalid credit card (it isn't)
The author, who insists on charging in GBP, had a FAQ telling you to call your credit card company, or to use a completely different market. I am surprised to see those are his 2 recommendations ... it's like he wants an impediment to people legitimately purchasing his software.
Yet another example of how people who try to do the right thing have to jump through hoops, and people who do the wrong thing have it super easy.
I am having the same issue with my Desire, trying to purchase Extended Controls. I have emailed the dev, still waiting. I left it over night and its still sitting on Authorizing Purchase.
I agree, another case of trying to do the right thing, hoops .... etc etc etc
lol
Try soft resetting your phone (aka.. turn it off than on).. then go to Downloads in the Market menu and click on the program you purchased. Works for me every damn time.
Its OK I emailed the dev and then magically about and hour later it came through with out any resetting.
Cool, thanks
Had the same problem
Had the same problem when i tried to purchase SystemPanel. I just pressed cancel and started it again and it then Authorized in 5 seconds. Was on WIFI only, mobile network disabled.

Unsuccessful downloads from Market even after factory reset.

Yesterday I ran into 3 apps that were showing updates available, so I went to update and got a download unsuccessful message.
I uninstalled the apps and attempted to reinstall fresh from the market, same deal.
I waited at least an hour, tried again, same issue.
I did a NAND restore back a few days and had the same problem.
I did another NAND restore with the same backup after doing a WIPE, worked fine.
I ran into more odd-ball issues last night so I decided to do a wipe followed by a factory reset. Now I got all but 2 items installed - the other 2 items again are showing download unsuccessful after repeated attempts.
I've got 1.67 GB free for application storage, so I wouldn't think there is an issue there.
Sound like I have a hosed phone? I'm now past 14 days since I got it on release date - could I still go back to the store and expect that they would do a swap?
Any feedback is appreciated - I am sticking with this phone, just want to get any kinks knocked out of it!
Thanks!
if your device is rooted, maybe that's the reason... if I were you, i would try to return the device and let them know that it just wont download apps you want. They almost have to take it back.
It had been rooted at one point, but that has been removed.
I just called and spoke with the local retail store - 14 days is it. After that I have to go through customer care...
Guess I'll keep banging away at it and see what else I can figure out...
Damn - this is upsetting!

good luck with that. there's nothing more frustrating than that. i wish they had quick fixes... like.. *download this and install to fix this issue* ya know? very simply stuff. smh
One last act of desperation and I think I fixed it....
I cleared the cache for the Market app and I was able to download the remaining apps.

[Q] Sleep of Death 2 days in a row :(

First of all, hi to everyone, i am new to the forum.
So i am a new owner of a Nexus 4, i have it for about 2 weeks. It's rev11, came with 4.2.2 out of the box, and it is completely stock and not rooted.
I didn't have any crashes or anything weird to indicate something is wrong with the phone in this time. And 2 days ago, i woke up at 12 instead of 9 i had my alarm, and the phone was not responding to unlock the screen and wake up. After some time pressing the power button it rebooted. So i though something temporary. I searched it here and is something known, sleep of death. I was not charging the phone btw. So i went my day using it again normally, and the next afternoon, i again try to unlock it to check something and see the time and again the same thing. Holding power button turned it on again after some tries. I didn't have to connect charger to reboot it as in some other cases i read, nor my battery percentage was any different or abnormal after the reboot.
But 2 days in a row can't be coincidence. The last app i installed before i noticed it is battery widget reborn.
So my question is, what is causing it? An app bug? I can restore to factory settings and it will stop? An OS bug? So we have to wait for android 4.3 for possible fix? Or a hardware issue? Because if it is hardware, i think i can still send the phone back and get a replacement, but this will leave me without a phone for 2 weeks maybe
Any help on this? From a little search on the forum most of cases seems to be an issue with apps undervolting the cpu while on standby or custom roms and custom kernels, but i am completely stock, and no app is doing anything to my cpu, i haven't enable something like that, and possibly without root even if i wanted it would not be possible.
Had this happen when I bought my phone back in January. It started happening probably mid-Feb and I probed through a ton of the internet and these forums for answers. The only thing I was left with was to call Google customer service and return the phone and replace it with a new one. So far, 2 months and never a SoD.
Provided you grabbed this from the Play Store:
Google customer service was very understanding and set me up with a code to buy a new phone off the Play Store and place the hold on my account. That new phone came in 3 days and I packaged up the old phone and sent it back with the labels Google provided and my account hold was removed in 4 days. They email you all the documents and UPS labels - you just do the rest. Most hassle-free return I have had and I deal with NewEgg RMTs quite often and I thought they were great...

I bought from amazon uk, through a marketplace seller, but brand new. So they can't instantly ship a replacment since it is not officially sold from amazon, but it was fullfiled from amazon, so i can get a refund but i have to send it back and then re-order. This is quite the hassle. But on the thread you posted, i read multiple people saying that even the second or third phone they got back from RMA from Google still does that. So maybe is a software issue instead of hardware? Any other ideas to try before i go through the return and refund route?
Will a factory reset help in any way?
Or if i unlock bootloader, reflash the stock image, is it possible that this will fix anything? I mean is it possible to have a corrupted install of 4.2.2 on my device?

As stated in the other thread, turn off WiFi. If you get a replacement, chances are you will still have the problem. A new thread didn't need to be started for this. You should have posted in the thread referenced.
How i fixed the Nexus 4 SODs
Same issue here with my Nexus 4. When connected to Wifi, with Android 4.3, every two days (more or less) it suffers a SOD.
And this is how I solved it: First, turn Google Play Store auto updates off. Second, install the 'Wake My Android Pro' app from the Play Store and set it to 4 minutes, Auto StartUp and Low Wake (and remember to use the 'back' button to save the preferences). No SODs for a week!

How long does it take to activate?

FAiled the first time, rebooted, still sitting on activation screen after about 10 minutes. I turned off old phone prior to attempting activation.
Shouldn't take long. Keep in mind that VZW just started shipping these so if there are any hiccups they could stack up quickly.
I would give them a call.
Hey
Just a question
Can you try posting a screenshot of what you see here?
It would be great to see what this activation screen looks like
Thanks!
I had the same issue. Verizon told me it was because I was coming from a 3g device. I went to the store and they activated it for me. You may be able to call them. I just happen to be near a store.
