[FYI] 720p HD Recording Test - Atrix 4G General

Figured with all the snow we got, and salt on my car it was time to get it washed.
So i tested my Atrix Recording out with 720p.
Its the whole car wash, so if you dont want to watch/listen you get the idea of how clear and awesome it is, give it, to atleast 1:55 seconds
Atrix Video Recording Test Make sure to change it to 720p, It Matters!
Regards,
Killster

that there is nice Awesome in 720 just not a big Motorola fan lol

got same message here also. Tried to watch it on my iPad. But I was able to watch other Atrix 4g 720p test videos and quality is great. Looks even better playing on my IPad IPS screen.

Droid X video quality is terrible. check these videos

here is a few video clips i have taken on the DX. i am not too pleased with them. seems there is a lot of video noise going on. i have not messed with any settings. running Fission 2.2.2 and the DX Camera installed. settings are on High. seems to be the same on Youtube High but only difference is that it is limited on length.. right?
thanks for any advice. be sure to click the 720 setting......
edit... go to my youtube channel.. "tha5150" since i cant post links yet.. since im a newb
and you're expecting 1080p HD quality on the Droid X? I don't get it. What are you comparing the video quality to?
not expecting 1080 by any means.. and not really comparing it to anything i guess. just seems like there is a LOT of video noise in here. especially the one of my dumb friend trying to dance. that one has lower light but looks terrible to me. maybe i am expecting more than what i have?
is this me or not?
Im pretty sure you can change the settings for which mic will turn on when capturing a video, if not all of the mics will be turned on...I may be wrong but I feel like I remember something like when I was watching some reviews on youtube

It was probably the poor lighting that caused all the noise. Check out my sample clip (once it's rendered in 720p)

I'm not sure what you're asking. That was on Fission 2.2.1 using the stock Motorola Camcorder app though.
Do a search on you tube for vids taken with the dx there is one of someone at a trans Siberian orchestra concert and it sealed the deal for me on buying the Dx. The video and sound looked great. You just need to play with the settings.

Yes! Its got slow motion video :)

Just incase anyone was wondering it has a great slow motion video feature allowing you to film in 1/2 1/4 or 1/8 speed (I believe its actually recording in high speed and playing back in slow speed) but its smooth and decent quality and great fun to play with. It also has a fast motion setting.
Im sure you probably knew already but I just found the settings and was chuffed and thought id share it with ya.

I guess it's understandable that the Slo-Mo is at a lower resolution (gotta sample more per second) but I don't understand the fast-mo being lower resolution... just take 1080p 30fps and then play it back at 30 fps while dropping every other frame...
I'll post mine when I'm allowed (after 5 more posts, I think)
Stay tuned.

I'm confused What has slow mo?

[Q] HD on the Youtube app?

Hey. I'm new here Thought i'd see if you guys could answer a question for me.
I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what the resolution of videos playing in the nexus 10 youtube app are? I haven't actually got my nexus yet, but I imagine it's the same as my S3, where the player only has a "SD" and "HD" option.
Is the HD just equivilent to 720p? Or will it choose the highest possible resolution for the video? I'm asking this because watching youtube videos in 1080p would be really nice
Thanks!
I am curious too since it does not lt you select.
Pretty sure it's 720p on the app for HD.
I'll do a test when I get home later.
I've been wondering that too
Youtube app will render videos to Hd720p. If you want full 1080p you'll have to use the browser.

Thanks for the replies.
That's annoying Would be nice if google could update the app for tablets so we can view 1080p videos without having to use the browser.
Google should update the app and give you the option because the browser page is not good in my opinion slow laggy and hard to use with a touch screen.
Why make a Google product and then hinder it with low quality video stream. Honestly its one thing that annoys me with with his tablet how soft videos look from the YouTube app. It does not do this amazing tablet justice , lucky I have nice images to look at lol

Yup, 720p only.

Its not Google that needs to update, it's YouTube. Google isnt responsible for apps not made by them.
Youtube just needs to start jumping on the band wagon and start supporting higher res streaming.

If google says jump, youtube says how high. They are their subsidiary.
With the Nexus 10 and its supreme display resolution I guess we can expect an update to the YouTube app pretty soon. I expect a 1080p option.
Yes, 1600p would be nice but don't forget at this resolution/bitrate many people won't be able to stream it anymore, at least not in an acceptable time frame.

It was a sarcastic question hence the face. Thanks for joining in on the conversation.
Nexus 10 doesn't come with radio for data hence me asking as if his Nexus 10 did.
I hope this explanation clears things up for you so you aren't confused by sarcasm.
Yeah it would be nice if they updated the app, but I suppose 720p isn't too bad on a 10 inch screen anyway.
Youtube only supports up to 2048x1536 at the moment anyway. Hopfully 1600p youtube will come eventually
Youtube 720p looks surprisingly good on the N10 to me. If they add a 1080p option I definitely hope 720p is still selectable.

Well, let me answer with some numbers:
I have a really high quality video on my N10 (the Timescape Trailer), it's 1440p and 33.5 mbit/sec worth of data.
Even with high compression a 1600p video would be like 10-20 mbit/sec or around 40 mbit/sec in very high quality.

Yeah on my one s I can go to my recordings in the u verse app and watch them on my phone. Maybe it only works on ICS.
When I click the watch button on the nexus it plays the sound but there's no picture.

OK, I see what you're taking about. If u verse also has that show on mobile on demand, it'll let you access it from the recorded shows portion. With that said though, all I get is audio on both video resolutions. Funny how it works on an at&t branded phone... Cause of worked on my vivid too.

I keep forgetting just how damn good the One is at recording audio

Most phones blow out the sound when recording stuff that's super loud, but apparently not the HTC One. Sounds flippin' fantastic. Here's some nightclub videos I took last night:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8QdbQe--3k
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVW9B_tfri4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4Ac02Qb_qU
The videos quality itself is also fairly commendable considering the poor lighting there.
Very good indeed. I'll give it a shot myself...
I'm really pleased with the audio. I was in Disney world, recorded tons of videos of the rides and while really loud, sound is great and not distorted at all.

The Serial number will show when the phone was manufactured. So far, there has been no news of HTC running out of their stock yet, so we can safely assume anything made up til Mid-May will have the HDR mic.

What a difference 1.5 years of phone technology makes...
Does anyone know if apps than the video camera can use the HDR audio capabilities? I tried to record our band rehearsing last Friday and it was just as distorted as on any other phone.
We play really loud, probably louder than the music in that club (we use earplugs) so maybe it was simply more than the HDR microphone could handle.
However, I used a 3rd party audio app (J4T), and now I'm wondering if it would have been better if I had shot a video using the stock camera instead.
