when making a live wallpaper is it as simple as using some command that sets the Draw view as a live wallpaper?

On my phone running 2.3 the lockscreen shows whatever wallpaper I normally have including live wallpapers. However, it looks like in 3.1 you need to choose a separate wallpaper for the lockscreen and it won't let me choose a live wallpaper. Does anyone know a work around for this?
