[Q] Anyone managed to pair a bluetooth headset? - Optimus 7 General

And if so which one? I got a year old Plantronics Voyager (something) which works perfectly fine on my HTC Desire. But to the Optimus 7 it may just as well have been a rock. The phone picks up other bluetooth devices nearby though, just not the headset.
So anyway, before I go out and spend 1/4 of the cost of the phone on yet another headset I'd like to be sure it's working.

actually I paired my phone with the bth built in inside my car stereo and work perfectly (ok, that's a 250€ aftermarket one but don't see why it shouln't work, they use the same bth profile)
Maybe check out for ad2p registry hack, it's on this forum under windows 7 phone section

My Motorola H350 works flawlessly.

Tried with a generic cheap bluetooth stereo headset and a Plantronics BackBeat 903 but neither worked; they didn't even get detected, let alone get paired -- the Bluetooth dialog just said "Searching..." whereas other non-wp7 phones nearby could easily pair with it. Must be an issue with bluetooth on my phone.
Since I bought it in a different country than the one I'm using it in, I can't have it replaced so I have no option but to just forget about bluetooth.

you must put the bluetooth on search mode, try checking the manual, i paired mine pretty quickly =D

My Plantronics Voyager Pro has worked pefect everyday for 3 months. First day the volume seemed really low, but a hard reset fixed the problem. I can hear people great and no one can tell I'm using a headset.

I've had no problems with the Plantronics 885 and a non-name BT headset. Both paired up easily.

I have paired with LG HBS-200 stereo headset, with Nokia BH-216 and with Sony Ericsson MW600.
They all work great, the MW600 doesn't display the track names it only displays the phone number of the incoming caller, but that's because WP7 doesn't support AVRCP v1.3. Hopefully they will implement support for this protocol in the next updates.

Was able to pair the phone with my PC as well as Motorola H3 headset. No problems whatsoever...yet.

Yo lo he emparejado con el parrot del coche sin problemas, lo que no consigo es pasar fotos o musica a trabes del bluetooth con otros telefonos, siempre me dice no compatible

Managed to connect my Jabra BT3030 (dogtag). Works flawlessly

Thanks for all the replies guys. I guess I will just try another headset then since BT appears to be working when pariing with PC etc.

Dual Bluetooth Headsets?

Is their a way, through the registry or elsewhere (short of re-pairing) to enable two bluetooth headsets and then switch between which one is the headset profile for the XDA II? I have the Parrot CK3000 bluetooth handsfree kit in my car which, after the recent software release, is working great. However, it's hard to take with you when you leave the car. I would basically like to pair to both it and my SE HBH-65 headset and be able to switch between the two as the active headset when I am in or out of the car. Ideally, a small program I can run from the Today screen would be best.
Any help?

Bluetooth car kit

Hi chaps,
Ive got a brand new XDA2 2 weeks ago and I bought a Bluetooth GPS receiver from these guys:
http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI...ex_gensales&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50
Works perfectly without patching, hotwiring or standing on my head - NICE 1!
My question is, can anyone recommend an incar bluetooth handsfree kit rather than headset that works with the xda2???
And is it true that I can run 2 bluetooth devices at the same time if I patch my xda with the now world famous bluetooth patch featured on this forum?
Thanks guys...
Darren
I am running tomtom 2 with the 2.09 gps driver and also a bluetooth headset at the same time without any patch.
ahhhhhh....
so you *can* run more than one device now *without* patching hhhmmmm.... ahhhh... cool, what model is your headset? I really want a bluetooth car kit which detects the phone and takes control when i get into the car but it'll be good to know a headset that definatly works.
Thanks man
I have a sony-ericsson hbh-200 which works ok but only for answering the phone, also it needed rebonding many times. I am now using a Skypower EZ232 ez clip which works the same but re-connects after going out of range, I am as I type, linked via activesync over bluetooth to my pc, I have internet working on the xda2, my bluetooth headset is also working and I also have tomtom2 working using gpsmart gps bluetooth receiver, so more than one device is definitely ok without any patches.
top BT Carkit: Parrot CK2000 or later
I use these fix built in BT-carkit. it makes a good word with the htcII
nice one
Thanks guys.......

Nokia CK 1-W doesn't work
I've tried the Nokia CK 1-W carkit, but this carkit doesn't work properly with the MDA II. Nokia only supports the handsfree profile and the MDA II is only supporting the headset profile.
The headset profile has got less features than the handsfree profile. I know that Sony Ericsson and Parrot supports both profiles. When you want to have supported all handsfree features by your carkit you need the handsfree profile!
Does anybody knows an update to fix this problem?

Bluetooth hands-free and GPS at the same time

OK, I've never used BT but am thinking about getting a BT hands-free kit, possibly the Parrot CK3100

Will this product work with an MDA Pro as a speakerphone through the car speakers? What about for playing MP3 files? Mono or stereo?
Also, if I later retire my old XDA 1 from TomTom duties and get a BT GPS unit for the MDA Pro, will it work at the same time as the BT parrot CK3100?
Also, I assume the CK100 is powered by the car: how do you cope with powering GPS and Universal devices? Run off the battery or multiple cigar lighter attachments?
This can help you take the right decision

Sounds like an expensive way of getting tinny sounds through a small speaker to me. I already have bought TomTom 5 and use it on my old XDA 1 with a wired GPS unit. What I want is to use my MDA Pro as an mp3 player and telephone through the car speakers and expect one day to get a BT GPS unit and use the Pro for Tomtom instead of the XDA 1, but I'm just wondering about the feasibility of such an idea.
What I have is a similar set up but I guess it should work for you.
I am currently running my Universal with a BT headset and a BT GPS receiver. I use the headset to hear all the commands for turning by the navigation software and so far it works great.
That's great, Vapor, thanks. I'll see if a vendor can help with compatibility then.
I have o2 MiniS paired with a Parrot CK3100. It works fine. The quality of the sound is very good as it uses the car system.
The Parrot can be set up to sync with up to 5 separate bluetooth devices. If you want GPS there is the Parrot LS3400 GPS which does everything.
I have not tried it playing MP3.
The fixing costs are exorbitant and the unit can be bought for around £100 (less for 3100) and fit it yourself it is very simple. Just two link cables for speakers and power plus install dashboard unit and microphone.

Vapor, I use a Qtek 2020 (Himalaya) with a wired GPS and a Midland BT Intercom. I get the sound from the phone, no problem, but I cannot receive any sound from the Tom Tom Navigator 5. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Javiersen
well I am not too sure about the other set ups but what i did to my universal was to disable the voice command from launching when i pressed the button on my headset. there's a reg hack for it somewhere on this forum about it.
once the buttonn is pressed, it opens the audio gateway (though in mono) between my phone and the headset and every sound from the phone (including the clicks) gets played to the headset.

Can't pair with a Plantronics 590 stereo headphones

Hello,
I have just bought these headphones thinking that i can use them to both listen to music and take phone calls with my HTC TyTn. Problem is i can't even pair them with the device
I put the headphones in pair mode but the HTC TyTn doesn't even see them. I can pair the headphones just fine with my pc but not with the TyTn.
Has anybody else experienced this ? Is there something i can do ?
Regards,
Adi
Ok here's an update. I have no idea HOW i managed to get the HTC to finally see the Pulsar 590 but at one point it saw it, i paired it and it works fine.
So, no idea why for 2 hours it didn't work...

HTC P3600 pairing with the Philips SHB7102 Stereo Bluetooth headset

I have a HTC P3600 (Trinity) PDA telephone with WM5 installed on it. I use it with the Philips SHB7102 Bluetooth Stereo Headset. When I pair the Philips SHB7102 Bluetooth Stereo Headset with my PDA it connects. When I walk away from the PDA for more than 10 metres and than walk back, I have to redo the whole pairing again from the beginning. The strange thing is that when I walk back the telephone function is normally working through my Philips SHB7102 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (it recoqnize my bluetooth headset) but the Wireless Stereo function (musicplayer software on my PDA) doesn't Recognize my bluetooth headset. So for this I have to do the whole repairing process again. If I turn off the bluetooth headset and then turn it on again I also have to do the whole repairing process again. The manual says that the pairing process is a one time process. This is only true for the telephone function but not for the music listening function.
I also tried the HTC P3600 with the Plantronics Pulsar 260 Bluetooth Stereo Headset and then this problem didn't occur. With the Plantronics the pairing is a one time action, but the sound quality is far less good as the Philips.
Does anyone has the same problem or knows how to fix this.
