Orientation lock? - Xoom General

Does the Xoom have an orientation lock?

yes via the settings

Just like everything with Android on it ._.
Unless... you meant a physical button.

Auto Keylock?

Is there a program that would automatically lock the keypad after an amount of time?
i use slide2unlock, it come on and locks screen and keypad when the backlight dims
its the only app i was able to find that would do it and not need a password to unlock (the standard wm6 lock screen can be set to come on after a time, but only when you set a password or PIN)
DeviceLock works (well, kinda). I have it set to a hardway button to suspend the device and lock. Works like a charm.

how about unlock? one button operation also?
I've actually switched to the new S2U2 from A_C...memory footprint is much smaller and manageable...
but...I had easy unlock enabled so i just clicked unlock and it would open the phone.

G sensor problem

Hi
How I can know if the accelerometer is working?
Automatic rotation does not work in any application, even if under the "Screen Rotation" applications always rotate to one side but not turn the device.
Accelerometer sensor App form market works but always mark zero.
Any ideas?

You haven't got the screen rotation "Hard Lock" turned on do you? If not then the Accelerometer on your Vega sounds like it's broken.

I have found only two options "Display --> Autorotate Screen" and "G Sensor". I tried on & off.
Hard Lock is an option in any menu? Which?

On the top of the Vega, near the back button, there is a switch that you can fligh on and off. That is the "Rotation Lock". If that is turned on (you can see red by the switch) then the "Hard Lock" is on and the accelerometer is disabled.

I thought was the key lock button....
Thats right! It work perfectly.

Most recent update breaks screenoff + fingerprint

Before today's update, I was running Nova with double tap set to the app screen off and lock. This allowed me to double tap the home screen to shut the screen off and lock the phone (I prefer this to clicking the power button). After the update, I can still do this, but it will no longer work with fingerprint unlock. If I try unlocking the screen using fingerprint, it forces the pattern unlock. Does anyone know a way to fix this?
Thanks.

It's a Marshmellow thing and was like that before the update (at least there were many reports of it, I don't use that feature of Nova).

I'm not familiar with that, but it was definitely working for me before the update. It's not really a Nova feature; Nova just supplies the double tap gesture function which can be used for anything. I think it has something to do with lock screen security, but nothing I tried worked. Thanks anyways.

It's a Marshmellow thing, not a Nova thing. It doesn't work on 6p, or 5x, or any other variant of the s7. Or with any other apps that lock the screen. Seems like it may have been a fluke if it worked on yours. It has to do with the apis for smart lock and Google's fingerprint api.

Same thing with me. The update messed mine up as well. I use this app now with Nova double tap and its working good. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iwashisoft.screenoff&hl=en
It doesn't lock the screen it just turns it off but it will lock when the setting you have it set for times out. I have mine at 30 seconds.

I use a different tap to lock screen and it now makes me use the pattern all the time. If I use the power switch and wait the 30 seconds the fingerprint works. Try that and see if it works not using Nova.
It is third party lock/screen off apps that cause the enter pattern always function.

Thanks for the reply, but it works now. You just have to use a different app that turns the screen off but does not lock it. With the new app, the phone will lock itself after a few seconds and then I can use fingerprint properly when I turn it back on.
Installed the update from last night, after the phone rebooted the recent and back capacitive buttons are not working. I just did the repair software tool with verizon and that didn't fix it. Crazy...

Any ROMs (or tweaks) that allow tap-to-wake?

I'm really missing the tap-to-wake from some of my previous phones and I know it's possible on the stock firmware for the S7 Edge.
There are a lot of proximity-based tap-to-wake mods but these are not the same as tap-to-wake.
Now that the snapdragon version is able to be rooted, I'm wondering if any ROMs or Xposed tweaks exist to add this feature?
Potentially stupid question, but is there something wrong with just using the physical home key - that's on the front of the phone?
It's just a preference. The home button works just fine (and is required for finger-print unlock) but double-tap to wake is really convenient for me when using a trusted device, etc.
Nova Launcher has Tap to unlock/wake in it's "Gestures" settings
Did you mean tap to lock? I didn't think it could tap to wake.

Fire HD 8 Lock screen removal

I have a Fire tablet I am going to use as a home automation control centre. I have it configured to wake when close to it(using camera as motion sensor) and everything else the way I want. The only thing I can't figure out is how to remove the lock screen. Even though I don't have a PIN on it, when I wake up the tablet it always goes to a lock screen in which I have to swipe up to get to the home screen. Is there anyway to remove the lock screen so it wakes directly to the home screen?
Thank you.

Unfortunately without root access you cannot access the settings option that will allow you to remove the lock screen. as of the moment there is no way to launch that setting without root access.
