Google Maps - Folio 100 Themes and Apps

I can't install google maps on foliomod 1.4. Why?
Sent from my Folio 100 using Tapatalk PRO

Can you explain what you have tried so far?

Google Maps is already included in the FolioMod v1.4 ROM. Although I think a newer version is available on Android Market. I did a factory reset before and after I updated to v1.4 and I had no problem updating Google Maps to the latest version.

After installation of foliomod 1.4 I havene't got google maps installed.

Google Maps 4.1 problem

HI
My HTC Legend have Google maps 3.4 factory intalled,
Anyone have problem with installing Google Maps 4.1 on Legend? cant find in Android Market, tried from google's site unsuccessfully .
Sorry for bad English
i had no problems installing the update to 4.1
The Legend is experiencing problems with some apps. The problem seems to be that the Legend model is not know yet by some localized Markets.
In the Netherlands apps like Layar, and Hyves can;t be found on the market or installed manually, Google Earth doesn't boot up. And in your case updates aren;t successful.
The problem is know by google and HTC and is being worked on. The reason seems to be that the Legend isn;t available everywhere till April.
I'm using Legend in English language and so far no problems with apps at all. Update to the Google Maps 4.1 was smooth as expected.

No problem here in Italy. As soon as I went in Android market, in download section I found the mark "upgrade available" for google maps.
It's running fine; I believe (as somebody else has already wrote) the market is depending by the county. Probably yr country is in queue to get the update

Google Maps on GB

Hello.
I am using the latest CyanogenMod7 nightly and I wonder, does anyone with GB (2.3) has Google Maps available to install? It doesn't show on Market (even with Green patch) and my phone is greyed out on https://market.android.com/ for Google Maps.
I have Google maps on nFinityGB 0.7. Did you flash the Google apps after you flashed the ROM?
Download apk from here http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/app/google-maps , put it on sd and install it with file manager..

Oc course. I wouldn't be able to go in market otherwise. I just couldn't find Gapps for GB that contained maps.

Thank you very much for this. It works.
Now, I only wonder if there's a brut version for the latest maps...

android market app

I found a Sim emulator and now i m in trouble with ajdroid market app. it is not installed in folio 100. Where can i find it?
You can't install it on stock rom, but if you are on custom rom, lastest version you can find on Applanet or with some Googling.

I have toshiba rom rooted, it's possible to install android market ?
You can't install market, because stock rom don't has Google support. What I said before, Applanet is realy good altrnative of android market, it has got paid apps for free. TRY!!!!
You can only use an alternative market like YAMM or APPLANET

[Solve] Everybody have problem with google play?

Not working cause play stroe will automatic update to 3.7.13 and the problem coming again.
With the Rom Slim Ics, there is a fix to avoid the playStore update.
The play store does not like the modifcation of DPI, it is maybe the problem
Not exactly same here
I manually downloaded google play store 3.7.13 from apktop and installed it to my Sgs running GamerzRom Ninja v11 JW5 and to my tf300t tablet running stock us.30 firmware.
At sgs there was no problem and i can download everything but on Tf300t couldn't download anything.
Installed the previous google play store which for me was 3.5.19 and no downloads. Wiped data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache didn't solve the problem at all.
Had to do a fresh install of the latest firmware (us.30) and then installed the 3.7.13 and worked.
Hope they find what is happening to prevent us from future problems.
Same problem here. Tried anything I could think of but the latest google play version won't install/update apps no matter what.
Edit: Apparently google is aware of the problem and working on a fix:
Download issues on Samsung Galaxy S Plus devices running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
We've gotten some reports that users with Samsung Galaxy S Plus devices running Android OS version 2.3 (Gingerbread) are having trouble using Google Play. We're aware of this issue, and we're currently working to resolve it.
As a temporary workaround until we fix the problem, you can uninstall updates to the Google Play app by following these steps:
Tap Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage
applications
Find the ""All"" tab
Scroll down to Play Store and tap to select
Tap "Uninstall updates"

I installed the 3.5 version, cleared data and cache and it hasn't updated to 3.7 yet. Can't be sure it won't do it later though.
Yesterday it was updating immediately , now I have the original version all the time (i'm opening Store very often just to check).

I have also the same problem. And I think uninstalling updates doesn't fix it because it will again update automatically.
I also found deleting cache would help, but hasn't worked for me.
Hope, Google will fix it fast (already 10 updates missing )

Did you try recently if it auto update? For me it looks like they (google) freeze autoupdate until they solve problem. I have 3.5.19 version since morning.

Ok sorry, I didn't. I also thought that Android Market (3.3.12) isn't still supported, but it seems like it is (it's updating...).
Thx for your help
Edit: It has now auto-updated to 3.4.7, but still able to update / install
i had the same problem (error 905) but after a few days the problem was gone without doing anything.

No problem appeared for me , the playstore updates automatically and nothing strange happened !
Today, I got an auto-update to 3.7.15. I'm from Germany.
Now I can see a progress bar in the app, including size already downloaded / full size

Google Play Services Working...

Just an FYI, the latest Google Play Services update to version 4.0.34 (924341-36) seems to have fixed issues with dependent apps. All is working well for me again, as of this update, which is available in the Play Store.

Not applicable to 4.5.3; ignore.
Updated to the most recent and I'm still getting constant force closes (though my most recent google play services is 7.3, am I missing something obvious?)
No, I was playing too. With no positive results. I think the op found a different old version.

U can use Titanium backup to freeze Google Play Service. I'm using 7.0.99 and freeze it. It will block auto update Google play service.

I am on a rooted 4.5.2 Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 using the above referenced 380 DPI version of Play Services, downloaded directly from the play store with the latest Play Store version & it is working fine for me. Definitely not an older version I stumbled upon, unless Google is specifically pushing older app updates directly to me.
It is also working for me with 7.3.29 (1866531-036), which should now again be the latest.
I tried to let it update on mine and it broke. Odd...
There are two differences between our devices. I am running 4.5.3 on Thor. I also used the universal gapps package.

Google Play Services 7.5.62
Google have released version 7.5.62 (1927436-034) which seems to have fixed the problems I was having with an experimental aosp kitkat build. For the Apollo device I downloaded it from here.

do you just install the apk as normal or is there a special procedure?
thanks
Downloaded and installed from the place recommended. I am rooted on 14.3.2.4 Apollo. Continuously says that Google Play services stopped working, etc. I did uninstall the old play services first before I installed this one. Any ideas how to get this to work?

Happening on other devices too although problems do not appear to be as widespread as v7.3. Likely have to wait for another fix from google (sigh).
I'm running a rooted 14.3.2.6_user_326001820 (build date September 8, 2014) on my Fire HDX 8.9", and any version of Google Play Services 7.0.99 won't work. I tried the latest greatest (com.google.android.gms-7.5.71_(1955121-030)-7571030-minAPI9), as well as a 7.5.62 (com.google.android.gms-7.5.62_(1927436-034)-7562034-minAPI9), and they both give the dreaded "Google Play Services has stopped".
To the poster who successfully ran 7.5.62 - did you run it on stock FireOS, or on a different ROM?
Does this work on Saturn? I've rooted with Kingroot and disabled updates but cannot get gapps to work. Is there maybe an alternative download I should try? Minimal works for 2 minutes but then goes haywire...thanks

Thanks, Christopher. That's both comforting (I'm not alone, so I'm not crazy or [probably] doing anything wrong) and annoying (I really wish it worked!).
