hello everyone, i am very new to this forum and i am happy to hear that x2 got its own forum here. now, i've had my x2 for about 6 mths, at the very first few months my x2 performed quite well in context of no lag or screen hangs or ****s like that. but for about 2-3 mths my x2 starts to have those problem, especially everytime when i lock the screen n i slide the lock it wont open meaning the lock button just stuck being slided to left/right n wont open, i had to remove batt n turn it on again. i rlly hate this.
n my x2 also load slower than before, like when i try opening msgs it took much time to load the msgs, n when i type a word it come up word by word like 5-6 second after, same goes for other program. it wasnt like this before. i've used seus to update n still the same problem.
i tried searching this forum on how to make my x2 rlly fast/turbo but i rlly confused as to which i should follow n ofcoz i rlly dont get the steps they've given (installing cabs all that n so on), can anyone help me with this? frankly i am a girl n i am no expert in all this so i rlly rlly need guidance

you'd better check the sliding lock button on the device! may be dirty or may have also been damaged...

X2 is a nice looking phone but its a strange one. I ceep it fast only bay hardreseting it every 2 weeks or maybe a mounth. plus I have clean WN6.5.3 with no pan els, no slideview and thats SE buggy stiff installed on the phone. This was the phnoe runs smoothere. and I have more space on the device. plus the battery seems to live longer and the whole device seems more stable.
If you didnt do a hardreset in6 months then thats the problem. do it every month and it should be ok.
i used to have the same problem so i also hard reset every week.. but i found a solution for me..... try this app its an hd2 app but worked for me

if ur x2 becomes slow just open task manager and end all tasks and the clean your ram in level 3... this fixes the slowing problem for me u dont even have to hard reset the phone and clean win mo 6.5.3 and u can also keep the panels...... i just love this phone but some times it disapoints me but im ok with it.... i hope this solves your problem....

hi all just got my self a xda2 mini s on a o2 contract . after using the sony ericsson p800 for the past 3 year . what a change from the p800 . the phone its self is much the same size . i have found something strange that happens on the xda mini . well my one anyway . it seems that for some reason when using it for some time . when i try to open the phone to make a call . the phone wont open nothing no pad nothing . does this happen to any of u guys phones . also i took all the o2 active stuff of the phone today and its much faster ... also what sort of programs r u guys using on your phones mine is standerd . do u get skins and other tools and programs for the mini and where can i get some good ones from any advice would be kind

Have you checked your button settings., I have all my buttons lock except for the power one every 1 min. So only by pressing the power button, can the phone be used, or when I recieve a call.

Loads of other stuff, but really depends on your usage. I flashed my vario with kjam rom, so I can use wifi g and to get rid of that quite horrendous pink t mobile branding. I am using a mac os skin on mine, and it looks the shizzel.

My phone application will also not open occasionally (eg now!) for no apparent reason. Does anyone have any thoughts on why this may be happening? Is it an XDA mini s specific problem?
it seems that when u close all programs on the phone thru the task manager the phone wont call up . that what makes my one do it ... close all tasks and the phone keypad wont call up on the sreen .. there is a couple of things not right with the xda2 mini s for what i see ... also cant seem to sort out when the phone lock is on why does the hard buttons on the phone still make my phone light up
ill put em on here tho no one seems to answer them! right wen i slide the keyboard open the orientation over laps or freezes,and when im typing the screen freezes and i loose a couple of letters im typing,soft reset dont seem to help!

If you like we can put suggestions up even though we don't know how to fix to your liking... My suggestion, go to a really high place and toss your Hermes off... Now those "niggly little problems" will no longer be problems as you will need to purchase a new device...

actually my jasjar suddenly started behavin weird it switched off by itself n wen i switched it back on after the windows mobile screen shows up my jasjar gets a dead blue screen n nothin happens.
tried to connect with active sync 4.0 and 4.1 bt it would not respond and show dat the phone is not connected.
i came across a thread in which a guy said to press bright light button + power button+softreset it sent my phone to a usb mode
then i used mtty tool and its command task 28 to check if my jasjar is wasted or still breathin lucky enough it dint give a formatfaliure msg and there were some steps i followed .
everything went as told n now m stuck on where to get official wm5 for jasjar and how to get out of the usb screen and how to flash the rom...??

With regard to restorig WM5 - I have the official O2 XDA Exec files for their last software release. But I think you said your's is an iMate.You could see if the iMate version listed here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Upgrades is still available - if not maybe someone has a copy somewhere.

Hi,
Try flashing with a WM6 rom (Tomal's ROMs are always good) and see if you get the same symptoms.
If you do then I suspect that you have a screen/cable connecting screen problem.
But lets rule out software first.

i used mtty software so many times that its commands are like hard weird in my brain cant get them out now....lolzzz
my stubborn uni was still stuck on the same dead screen but the only fun thing was that every time i flashed a new wm it used to get stuck on diff colours blue red green black...lolzzz

i got some nice screw drivers and opened up my uni..
damn dis thing is wicked and messy it has things dat i dont know about n havnt even dreamd of in my stupidest dream i hav been lost in a computer motherboard with some good virus as my friend n some bad scary virus but in my uni motherboard i would neva..!
so i just fixed it back...n it worked for a while n den i dont know what tickled its ass.

for some strange reason the option "incoming com port" in the blue-tooth setting on my jasjar has disappeared. i was wondering if anyone else faced the same problem or if there is a way around it? editing registry n stuff.
because of this the previously paired devices are working fine but the new devices are unable to search the serial/com port facility on my uni.
i have tried resetting but still no luck.
any suggestions?
also i would really appreciate if someone could give me a solution for reading arabic and other such languages on uni.
(btw i am using i.e.TML 8.5 Rom and when i installed it at first the functionality was present so it cant be a ROM issue.)

lol... sorry abt earlier maite! i just realized the ridiculous thing i just did. i was supposed to post the reply to ur prob and then start with my sad story but somhow i managed to skip step one .
i m not expert on the device but i like it very much so i when i got one with my o2 contract i bought another one sim free just so that one would keep other company. as far as ur issue goes i have faced almost the same prob in the past and the solution was
1) rotate the screen 90 to get acess to screws at the bottom of the screen.
2) open the screws screws ... btw u might wana check if they are properly fastend before you try this step as i observed that if the screws are properly tightened this problem may solve itself... carrying on open the screws and that would detach the screen from the hinges.
3) where the hinge comes off strip open the cover a little bit and you will see two connections, one for the backlight and one for display (just like any other LCD screen.
4) press the big grip like thingee i.e. display connector with a flathead screw driver to assure they are properly in place. because in my case the connector had come off and hence was causing the system crash. although in my case the screen was only going blue after a while not the whole color palette.
just try if this one works because i m not sure if imate people are going to be any help in this case. i tried calling them a few months back for the lenscover and they said they dont support this device any more :S.
My X1 didnt work as it should after around 6 months.
-the display got black when I slided the keyboard out,
-headphones jack did sometimes shov the headphones simbol on the top bar of the screen even when the headphones wasnt in the jack,
-in the center of display i had a grey spot. It was very visible if i turned on the camera and covered the elns with my finger. It might be from stylus or somethin. it made look X1 lcd look cheap and of bad quality,
-the on the keyboard if i pressed M or N key once it wrote MMM or NNN (multiple characters for only one press)
-and the last thing is that when i was having a conversation sometimes didnt hear anything. i had to slide open the phone and the close it and sometimes it healped but if it didnt I had to use the speaker. and it looks bad when you are using 500€ phone to have to use the speaker for all conversations.
then on 1.12.2009 I personaly got my X1 in the shop for repairs. I called afther 3 weeks... the phone was still not repired, so i call them in the beginning of January. the phone was not finished. I was starting to count down the days.
Dont know abouth other countries but in Slovenia (its next ot Italy) the law says that if a device is in repairs for more then 45 days (and that caunts in hollydays and weekends to ) you are entitled to equal NEW device. and then until february 2010 they were telling me that they are getting me a new X1. but last week they tell me that NEW X1s are hard or almost impossible to get. so the SE is getting me new XPERIA X2 instead. thats all I know for now. I still think that X1 was a better phone (it had personality that X2 has not) at the beginning of next week ill know more. today the man from the shop said that its possible to have it on tuesday or wednesday next week.
if nothing else i got from phone that was farly old and didnt work properly (dont know if id get 200€ for it) to a totaly new X2 (it came outh this january,it must be worth around 500€). Ill let you know if/when i get it and let you know how it handles.
is it possible for X2 to ROM it with some costom ROMS for X1?it has the same buttons, same resolution, same hardware... it would be nice to have cristians ROM or touchIT ROM on X2.

No. There are no custom ROMs for the X2 yet. Have fun with that new phone. Im sure you will like it's. I don't know what my next device will be...
Well i got my new X2 last week on friday. first of all i have to say that im somewhat of a clean phone freak softwarevise adn in that regard X2 is awfull. it just has too much stuff on it. how can there be after hard reset (did it ubouth 3-4 times just over the weekend) only 80MB free. there is 260 MB available but only 80 is free.when I deleted all the panels that i dont need there was 140MB free but then manel manager stopped working.
then i hardreset it. on X1 hardreset and costumization lasted around 10 minutes. for a hard reset on X2 you need half an hour before telephone is ready to use.
then i wander in panel manager whay some panels are able to be deleted in panel manager but moste are not. yes you can delete them in settings but in many cases it says the panel was not deleted completle, you want delet it from the list?
i wanted to have clasic SE panels (1 and 2) i instaled SEpanel 1 from this forum, and panel manager stopped working again. HARDRESET
When I turned on X1 there was abouth 30% of ram used and 60-70% was free.
on X2 most od the time its 50/50 but usualy if you open application or 2 there is less then 50% free. and that affects on performance.
best thing would be to have X1 software on the X2 device. Or atleast X1 panel manager on it.
At first i dint like its START menu. scrolling up and down when the scrolling in not fluid its no eyecandy. and its not totaly usefull. then i started to like it when i figured out i can edit this start honeycomb menu. i added map called WEB another map called PROGRAMS i put al the stuff in these maps only the SE Xperia 2 green icons and settings are on the front level... and start menu was instantly more user friendly (by the way in file manager there is map WINDOWS/STARTMENU/PROGRAMS there you can edit START menu).
But still I have faith in this device. if the experiance was little more fluid or the CPU was better this would be a great device. it has a nice camera (video recording is not so good but that i got used to with X1 and SE never had great vodeorecorder cameras anyway) and there are 2 firmware updates planned one for march (WM 6.5.2) and one in may (6.5.3, cant wait to have START, X and OK buttons on the lower side of the screen).
Final words
I was mad abouth X1 from the momet i looked at it on gsmarena (february 2008) and then almost half a year when it came out i has HAPPY to have it.
now I have X2 only a month after it came out and its just OK to have it. its not good its not bad its just ok.
we will see.
my x2 is in cmonex's hands for creating hard-spl, but the x2 is a hard nut to crack, so we have no ETA on hard-spl for x2 unfortunatly.
But when its ready, im sure the cookin will start
My HD2 with the TyphooN CM7 v3.5.4 Rom one day just frozen. Befre that its ran 2 or 3 months smootly. After when I da a soft reset I got a "white screen" (without the logo). So I did a hard reset and this time when I started the pda its show me the HTC logo just with half jellow background. Of course its stucked again in this state. I started again in bootloader mode and tryed to connect the computer. Its worked but thats day I had no time for this. So I just took the accumulator out and I put the HD2 aside. Whe I arrived back I just put back the accu and started the phone... and its ran again.
Next day the problem appeared again. The phone frozen so many different position. Showed me white screen and after the hard reset is ran but frozen the androud logo. Hardreset, run but frozen the screen lock. Hard reset and its showed me the starting HTC logo but its started to put slowly horizontal black lines and once its did a strange sound to. The long story short: I did the same rituale but this time its not worked. So I taked the contact with the store about the garantie. And started to set back the phone in the original state (wipe, factory rom back, SPL back) but I coudn't. The pda is droped me errors all the time. I cant change back even the HSPL to SPL. So I just took the accumulator out and went to sleep that day...
Next day morning was a same story. I put back the accu and the phone did everything what I want. I succesfully wiped the old memory, installed the official rom and set back the SPL. Ready to send back to the store... And I wanted to testing it but this time the pda didnt frozen. Its running.. yeah like the windows phone 6.5 usually, nothing any special (hovever the wifi bacome shorter than the android). Two days and nothing.
So I want to ask somebody because Im still think there is a hardware problem. Its can be possibel there is a harware problem and bacause the WP6.5 not use the phone as much as an Android do the problem is not appeared jet.
Or this was a software problem and I just have to start everything from the first step (I dont like the wp6.5)
There is any test program for the WP6.5 wich can be test your hardware?

Another thing, were you running stuff on your device that made it run hotter than usual ?
Sometimes, overheating may cause unpredictable issues.

Accumulator = Battery. Sorry for the word, english is really not my native .
I didn't feel its hotter than usual. Most of the time the phone is hotter a little bit but also when I run the official wp6.5 system.
Today I tried to put wp7 on the phone but this system still not love my SD cards (I bought a new Kingston just for this but stil no) so I tryed a new ICS rom. Its runed nice and I just think my problem solved (I started to belive there was some kind software crash) but now again frozen (when I trired to open the galery its frozen).
Maybe the problem is the overheating. I have to wait every time a few hours when I can do anything whit the machine. Now I reinstall the offical rom again again but I dont want to use the HD2 with the WP6.5 system and I still dont think this situation is naturally. Can you give me a good hint how can I test the hardware above the WP6.5?

Don't give up. And by the way, gallery crashes are ICS issues and are not being caused by your device, be happy. .
Try to run a CPU-consumer application/game and see if it overheats/reboots or freezes. Most HD games can do that, or try browsing the internet for about 30 minutes using 3G .

I put back the original rom. And the phone was totaly freezed when I entered the gallery and now cant move tought the HTC logo since a day. Its did this many time but with the android and not the wp6.5.
But now I have reason to send back. Set back the original statement was succesfull fortunetly. I know its a really good phone and I hope this issues just bacause I get a wrong one.
