SD Card Notifications - Atrix 4G General

Any way to turn this off? Its usually in the sounds menu but its not there with the Atrix. I hate that sound at boot and I like having an extra 8 gigs of available storage in my card.

Would love to turn this off also. Not finding "SD Card Notifications" in Sounds...

My girl friend loves it when I plug in my phone to my laptop when she's sleeping and it blasts out my notification. In this case the atrix's crazy good speakers are a negative lol.

Audio during boot.

Ok so is it supposed to play the droid sound when the phone is powered on? I went browsing through the system files and where the bootanimation.zip file was also a file called bootup.ogg that when clicked does the droid sound.

It plays the sound at the end of the boot sequence, when the phone is ready to be used.

Are you sure that isn't just your sd card notification? Because mine makes no sounds on boot and i have as card notifications off.

Same here, never heard the sound. Only sound I hear is the SD card notification.

This, along with no LED notification when charging make me wonder... was this pushed out too early maybe??
I also noticed that while I was charging I clicked on the screen to see what % I was at and it said 90... 20 minutes later 90... ten later 90, but I kept the screen awake and after a minute it clicked to 100....?? what gives?

My bad then, it probably was the SD card notification. I prefer the boot to be quiet anyway in case I'm in a place where I shouldn't be making noise.

Found that in the build.prop. it's a bit beyond me, but would this bevthe reason there is no sound during boot?

Bizarre clicking noise

My Zoom has started making a loud clicking noise intermittently. Not related to touching the screen. Just a loud click now and then. Almost like a static discharge. Not related to volume settings. Anyone else have this? Any ideas?

Did you install the unofficial flash apk?
yes. But the clicking started before that.

BTW the unofficial Flash update isn't working for me...

It starts clicking right before it grabs you!
I had that and used to restart my Xoom to get rid of it, then disappeared after sometime and don't know how

Looks like another fanboy post? A cockroach got inside during installation, you'll have to return your xoom and buy an ipad 2 ?????
The only way you'll take my Xoom is to pry it from my cold dead hands. But I'm just wondering how best to kill the cockroach!
Mine just started doing this today. I really dont want to have to exchange it for a new one at best buy, thats such a hassle!
i think it's because you are running overclocked. Minw started this after I clocked it to 1.5ghz, set it to 1.2 and no longer does this.
My Epic 4G just recently started doing this intermittently over the past week or two. I'm guessing that it is related to some app that I installed, but I haven't been able to track it down yet.
Mine was doing the same a day or two back sounded like the speakers were clicking for no reason at all, i'm running stock with no hacks or anything of the kind.
Happens to me everytime I run FPSE, doesn't go away until I restart Xoom.
I had this same issue. 2 things I have tracked it down to. Rockplayer pausing a movie. And trillian. I had to uninstall trillian as itwas driving me crazy.

Mine is not rooted and it does it at times. I have to restart the device. I wonder how many other people have this problem.

I had this happen only one time. I was using Remote Desktop from Xtralogic one night and it started making a weird clicking or electrical discharge noise. It sounded like it was coming from the speaker.
I finished my work that night on our server and turned off the Xoom. Never had it happen since.
My Xoom is rooted and overclocked to 1.4Ghz. Most of its use is Remote Desktop, ConnectBot, QuickSSHd and Kindle.

Yeh mine was doing it today, couldn't figure out what was going on. Prob just a software glitch or something causing the speakers to pop.

often happens to me after running some media players like upnpplayer
Did you force close or clear data from some media app running in the background? One or the background items tracks built in ringtones and wiping data will make it forget the factory ringtones. Maybe it's clicking because it's no longer playing a proper audio file?
You'll have to make it rebuild itself somehow if that's the case. Mine fixed itself after a reboot or two.

Samsung Epic vibration mod

On the some of the other phones I've owned you were able to modify the way the phone vibrated when in silent mode. There were options that could set it to pulse and change the duration and increase the vibration strength.
I was curious if this was something one of the developers could possibly bake in to a future rom or if anyone knew any apps that did it.
There are apps thatll do that

Really? You got my interest. You care to name one that'll do any of what the op said? I am personally interested in increasing the vibrate strength to something a bit more less pansy like.
Hell, my pager from the late 80's had more a vibrate than this thing does. I can set the phone on top of my hand whilst I am on my laptop and if it weren't for handcent lighting up the screen i'd have never known I got a text message while on silent/vibrate. It's weaker than a ladybug fart.
Smart vibrator for one ,its free im sure there are others havent really looked
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
You can customize how long short or strong it vibrates for both calls and other notifications
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
How about a program that causes the Epic to vibrate stronger than its default maximum? I think that's what op was asking. I have the same question since my intensity decreased after the update. Can we mess with the "settings"?

Audio and speakers

I'm currently on miui rom and when my phone rings it sounds like my speaker is bout to blow. Lol. Is there a app or something that I can use to adjust this.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Nope. It's happened to me twice. It's a hardware failure. If you're still under warranty go to a store or call in for a replacement. All the ROMs in the world can't help that.
Yeah it only does it on this rom tho. Lol. If I flash my other roms it's not near as loud. Lol
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I'd probably say avoid that ROM for now then. Basically what's happening is the speaker is on it's way out. It will get worse before it gets better. I still say take a look at warranty replacement if you have that option.
Not sure if this will help, but I use IncrediKernel, and with the "Audio Boost" option set, my Inc did the same. With the IncrediControl app, it's an option to be checked or un-checked, without it, maybe try echo 0 > /sys/kernel/audio_boost/aboost
Other than that, MIUI has been doing some work on the sound system and maybe it's something going on in the new settings? There's a "System Volume" now in the menu for "Sound and Vibration Settings" that I've noticed lately, as well, maybe give that a little tweak?
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda premium
The physical speaker in the phone is really bad, and most people's blow out. It's fairly easy to replace and inexpensive (under $5). Will maybe take you 5 minutes.
Youtube videos for instruction.
Ohh. Ok. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I also didn't realize that a kernel could effect some the sound.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I've blown two speakers on my phone already, waiting to replace this last phone until my upgrade. Why are these speakers on these so bad?
Mine acts up with the miui rom. But if I install cm7 they work fine. I don't understand that. Lol
