Is there anyway to copy the webtop onto your computer as backup and delete it off of the phone?

I believe it's partitioned that way, so I don't believe so without modifying the partitions on the internal storage.

Would this be possible with a signed bootloader?

Installations on Internal SD vs External SD

When I have installed games like Sniper vs Sniper, Homerun Battle 3d and Asphalt. They all have me to download more files but they are always installed on the internal SD instead of the External SD. Is there a way to prevent this?
anyone have any ideas?
Any reason why you would NOT want them on the near 2 gigs allocated?
I want the installations to go on the External Card and they are all installing on the internal card. Maybe the thread topic is misleading....
No, just curious why 2 gigs is not enough. Especially when faster than external. Doesn't make sense...
Its the way the SDs are mounted. Sdcard/sd is the external. The app just looks for sdcard/ which is the internal.
He's taking about the internal sd not the /data apps dir.

Yes thats what im referring to. I want everything to be on the external. On other phones like the Evo, the games "extra" files are installed on the Ext SD Card.
correct me if I'm wrong. My understanding is there are 3 storage options:
1. Phone's 2GB internal memory: this is where apps are installed
2. Phone's 12GB internal memory: internal memory you can mount to PC and move files back and forth
3. External SD card slot: can use up to 32GB of microSD card here.
OP, what exactly are you looking to do? Put the apps installed on the 2GB internal ROM on the external SD card? I don't think this is doable w/o rooting, maybe 2.2 Froyo will have it.

Games like Homerun Battle 3d. When you install it, it tells you that it has to download more information to store on your SD Card. On the HTC Evo, the downloaded information stores on the external SD Card in the /com2us folder. On the Vibrant, the extra information that is downloaded stores on the internal SD card in the same folder. I would rather have all the extra info store on the EXT SD Card.

Sorry I wasn't really clear on my on my post. Most phones don't have an internal SD card, so the standard mount for the external SD card is the sdcard/ partition, so the app automatically mounts the data there. You'll have to reprogram the app to see the SGS external SD card mounting directory of sdcard/sd

If you have a newer stock-rom (2.2.1, JPY,JS5) you can put some apps from the system memory to the internal sd (System/Application/Manage Application). The errormsg is because you run low of system memory.
bye
sorry but im really confuse i got this
External SD
total: 7.41Gb
available: 6.33gb
Internal SD
total:5.78gb
available: 5.70gb
then there is this internal phone storage
1.63gb available
whats the difference on internal SD and the internal phone storage? is there any way we can merge the internal sd and internal phone storage. coz what i notice is when im installing apps it goes on the internal phone storage and external sd but the internal sd doesnt change even a thing

When i remember correctly is the internal sd some sort of extra memory for your phone. On the internal phone memory is the android system and space for some apps.
It is not possible to merge the mem. You can free mem when you put the apps from the internal phone mem to the internal sd.
bye
ah so it means that when u transfer the installed apps on sd it goes on internal sd not external sd one?

Internal memory?

Im curious, the specifications of the htc desire hd say it has only 1.5 GB of memory, whats the actual internal memory? im guessing those 1.5 gb they mention is just the available space to the user
to my knowledge, the 1.5GB is a flash memory (generally referred to as internal storage), and isnt suppose to used as if its a memory card to store videos and images, which is why they supply you with a 8GB sd card and why when without the sdcard, music and photos cant happen
I would guess that the 1.5GB is meant to be used to install apps and well, just system stuff, so that the OS can load it faster.
im more than positive that the internal storage is more than 1.5GB. It could be 2GB or 4GB (if i had to choose, i'd choose 2GB). But whatever it is; X-(Android OS and System data)=1.5GB.
This is what ive have been told (if im mistaken by any change, i apologize)

[Q] how to use app Data from External micro SD

I want to use app data from sd card (since internal memory is just 4.2 gb including application storage and data as well) what should i do, Am i suppose to do swapping ?? or some thing else?? kindly help..
I'm not sure what you mean, but if you're running low on internal storage, here's what I did for a fix:
First, apply one of the myriad of options for allowing any app to read/write the external SD.
Get the xinternalsd xposed module.
Tell it to make everything point to the external uSD card.
Then move everything from the internal emulated SD card to the external.
That will probably clear up a ton of space.
If you're still running low, clean up the app caches. If you really have 4GB of apps and data on internal storage, 1GB is probably caches.

Are you rooted? do you have a large SD Card which you do not swap out?
On my previous phone it only had 420MB of user space for apps. I created a 2GB EXT4 partition (could of been 32GB on my 64GB card if I wanted), then used Int2EXT system to move all the apps to the partition on the SD.

Apps2SD (on the Market) performs the same thing, with a front end

i already have 128gb sandisk card for storing data , if i need more apps and heavy games what should i do, there is no option to move to sd card like 5.1.1 and format as internal is not good options as well
Format as internal is the only option. Make sure to migrate you data afterwards as well

Also if you open the App Info for the huge apps that are located on the internal memory, you can move them to the SD card instead.

not available once you update app from play store its stuck on internal , only you can move if its stored on memory card on 5.1 and if you updated from play store it will come back to internal memory.
