[Q] Newbie Order Blues - Adam General

Hi All,
I am a newbie to the Adam World. After spending hours on various Adam sites, I finally ordered a LCD version on Feb 19th through my Amex. It has been two days and I still don't see the charge on my American Express.
Anyone knows how long does it take NI to charge your credit card? If my card is not charged does that mean my order never went through (though I got an Order Confirmation email from NI)?
What can I do to make sure my order went through - like call NI or any other avenue?
Thanks,
BD

The charge took 6 days to show up on my AMEX. I was in the original order group back on Dec 9th, 2010.

You should get two instant email confirmations. If you don't close your order page, it should return you to NI store and give you confirmation.

Oh oh. I got just one confirmation email from NI. Here is the text from the email -
Order Successful
Congratulations on being the proud owner of an Adam!
Your order details are as below.
Order number: xxxxxxxxxx-1
Adam Variant: Normal LCD, Wifi
Full Name: Butler Dix
Billing Address:
XXXXXXX
XXXX
CA 94xxx
Billing Contact Number : 91408xxxxxxx
Shipping Address:

We have charged your card a total amount of USD 425.33 (inclusive of shipping charges only)
If you wish to cancel your order, you may do so within the next 48 hours, after which a cancellation fee of 5% would be charged.

Now when I login to NI to see my status it shows my payment status as "Paid" and estimated shipping date of 25th February to 10th March 2011.
What I am worried about is that it has been more than 48 hours since my order and nothing has come up on my credit card statement yet.
Thanks!!

Adam ordering timeline
I am keeping a blog of my Adam ordering experence on my website. It took over ten days for the charge to finally show up on my card after they pre-authorized it. I'm not aloud to post links here yet (I guess I have been away for too long) so just Google me.

Expansys DHL tracking

Hello!
Got email that my HD2 was shipped to me today, yay!
However, I did not get DHL tracking which I should get I think(it's not on the order tracking page too.
Did you get tracking (dhl) when ordering from Expansys?

I'm in the same situation as you: HD2 shipped today by expansys (DHL) but no tracking...
So pi**ed off, had mine on order since the 7th Oct, only to get an email this morning saying my card had been rejected, despite Barclays saying they hadn't bared it. By the time it was sorted Expansys was out of stock!!! Someone out there has got lucky today. Any ideas how long before they have more stock?
My friend had the same situation - card rejected.
He called them today, cancelled the cc order. I told him to pay via PayPal(so his card was charged anyway) and they have accpeted it. He got it shipped out the same day(today).
But he did not get tracking.
I have contacted support and I have been told that my tracking is my order number and I will see what happens with the package on the order tracking page as soon as Expansys gets data from DHL.
One thing remains strange for me - why the hell they do not want to give us the tracking number?
Normally, AFAIK, from what I have seen in the past the tracking numbers appear in the on-line Expansys record of the transaction which you can access via the My Account link towards the evening of the shipping date.
YMMV...
I hope so, just sitting and refreshing all the time...
Their servers will suffer a lot if they do not give the tracking numbers to people
You have to wait till the tracking number is scanned for the 1st time, then it will appear on the expansys order page.
I'm still waiting for my tracking number aswell.
Well, I rather hope that my package is being loaded on a plane to Poland, not "scanned for the first time".
Received tracking number from expansys. It's marked as shipped since 11/11. But, it's dispatched from DataSelect and picked up by DHL at 1735hrs GMT today.
Did you get it in an email or on the order tracking page?
I got. dhl tracking in order tracking page and also in invoice which one send via email me .
Strange, I did not get an invoice at all...
First got "order confirmation" email, when they did not even have it at stock. Now, I got "shipping confirmation" email, but with no tracking. On the order tracking page, it only says "Sent email - eXpansys - Order shipped XXXX-1B18-XXXX -" (but that's only order number, not tracking).
Anyone know what DHL service do they use? Is it DHL Worldwide Express or something else?
GOT TRACKING. A DHL button showed up at the bottom of order tracking page. Mine is coming from Marseille.

Mine right now says Estimated 3 days.
I'm a little pissed off that they say they have 100+ in stock at the time I order and now I have to wait. I find the Estimated 3 days to be a completely BS status as well. Like they really are going to get that much more HD2's in a couple days later...on a weekend?
If it doesn't ship around that time I'm canceling my order with those liars.
Mine was saying 8 days yesterday, now it's already shipped. Just contact them, call them, attack them and get what you want
Mine was showing 5 days for a while. Then in stock.
Next day (Last night at 6pm perth time) it was shipped.
I think all the stock went to backorders.
I have three updates. Email from Expansys, one from DHL and the order page updates with the DHL link.
Currently my phone is in a plane between London and Perth.
Would be cool if I get it today
I have my DHL tracking number, it left Marseille a few hours ago, went to Leipzig and is now in Brussels where it has to be delivered!
Got a mail with a link to the expansys order process site. on that site was a link to the dhl track including the number. Delivery was superfast, Marseille to Germany 1 straight day.
Had preordered mine so it went out with the first batch. When I did a refresh of the product page during lunch after receiving the shipment notification in the morning, it said 50 on stock. A few hours later it was back to estimated time in stock Nov. 12th.
You will find the link at the bottom of the page, there is no tracking number, however clicking on DHL logo will take you directly to your order(tracked).

mine was saying 15 days yesterday and today it was shipped
expansys are awful
I ordered mine when in stock, then estimated shipping time went from 1 day, to 2 days, and now its estimated 5 days whilst HD2 product page says 1 day availability..

Nexus One - why need to wait so long for shipment

HI there,
Anyone know how to complain the poor service on buying "Nexus One" thr. online web site?
I place my order on 6th and until 8th to confirm my payment and accept order. (in 2010's using credit card payment still need such leading time) Now today is 11th, but still no information for shipment...
Are they really busy? or lack of ppl to work or out of stock?
It is unbeliveable to google
I just ordered mine this morning. I really hope it doesn't take that long to ship, seeing as how they are shipping out of Indianapolis which is only 2 hours from me.
yes, it is crazy.... no customer service to handle issue properly.
it just using standard email reply and repeat the same msg, we are working on this and wait 1-3 days after confirmed payment..
I tried many online purchase from US / EU and don't see this problem nowadays. My guess is they don't have enough ppl to handle order so take extra 1 day to process my payments. How come such a big company starting a new project (to sell phone directly) without any senses.
I ordered at 6:15PM EST on Friday, had a receipt a few minutes later and a shipment confirmation later that evening. It's on a truck for delivery this morning. Pretty quick process for me, but I know that sometimes international orders can add a day or so to the process. I've experienced this when ordering phones from overseas in the past.

Im hoping it gets to me today honestly with me being so close. Id like to grab mine from the sorting facility as it probably won't make a truck. =) I cant wait!
The issue isn't the extra day international orders take to be delivered but the fact that some orders haven't been processed yet. I ordered on 7th, then phoned bank on Friday morning to check there weren't any issues (there weren't, payment was authorised) but still my order remains at 'Not yet shipped' and the support from google is pathetic. I wouldn't mind if google actually processed their orders in order!

Do yourself a favor and call your credit card company and let them know to expect a charge for whatever the total cost was. That way, they won't slow you down. That's what happened to me. I just happened to call my cc company, and then all of a sudden the next day it was processed and shipped after a 2 day delay. Google never even sent me a status update to let me know anything was holding me up.

I used my debit card and it's already been charged the full amount, so no issues there I think. Its not odd for me to blow several hundreds of dollars on a single purchase lately.. hahaha. All is well, just constantly refreshing waiting for a tracking number. =)
I had a similar experience as bugsy. I ordered mine Jan 5th at 11:30am MST, receipt 20 minutes later, and less than 12 hours later, an email that said the phone had shipped. They attempted delivery at 9:30am the next morning. That's insanely fast, and I don't live anywhere near their sorting facility

I ordered mine on the 7th in the morning with a debit card. Payment was processed immediately and I got my receipt right away. My order status is still at the "Google Phone Webstore has received your order."
Two emails to them have yielded no replies and my bank acknowledges everything is fine. Kind of frustrating. I hope they ship it out soon... getting a little impatient.
I ordered mind 5:50pm EST on the 6th (Thur), it was shipped 7am on the 7th (Fri), but held hostage by fedex until this morning (it was here, but they didn't think it was priority to unload it from the crate Sat since they didn't have to deliver until Monday).

UK DVP buyers what is your estimated delivery date?

I have order my dvp from dell.co.uk.
originally i was told it should be delivered on 10th march by a rep but the next day i got a order confirmation with delivery on or before the 22nd march.
What delivery dates have you got (UK Buyers)??
You're kidding right? Didnt we go thorugh this BS with the US launch? All this time Dell hasnt sorted out their supply issues, what the heck have they been doing?

first time i have ever bought something from dell. they sure do have a funny way of doing business.
I did not order one from Dell directly (got mine off ebay from US & unlock code) but a friend of mine told me the same thing this morning. He ordered online the very first day the news leaked that you could order a DVP on Dell UK. Was originally indicated on/before 10th.Mar but now it shows on/before 21st.Mar.
I placed my order on 2nd March.
Estimated delivery date is still reading as 10/3/2011 on the order status. Credit card looks like its been charged, but still not properly showing on the credit card statement (i.e. available amount is less, but a Dell particular on the statement hasn't been added).
Just gave Dell a call and went around a big circle and they told me email the following address: [email protected] as smartphones are being handled by a different company.
I just emailed them, we'll see how it goes.
just got a order confirmation today (2nd one) i went to check my status on my order to fin they have canceled my order and redone the order (what explains why i received a second order confirmation) giving me a new order number and a date of 28/03/11.
so its delivery date has gone from:
10/03/11
to
22/03/11
to
28/03/11
I wonder if i will ever get this phone. I guess this would match the march 21 release date for nodo that has been said on znet today.
Wish I could get an update! My order status page still says 10/3/2011. Emailed the address Dell told me to email two times, and no reply.
I actually received a call from them the day after my order (3/3/2011). But the moment I picked up the phone they hung up. No recall or second attempt to my mobile.
Ridiculous. I've always been an advocate of Dell, but that was Dell Asia Pacific which are MILES better than Dell UK. Dell UK is useless, and utter garbage.

So I got my ordered automatically cancelled and a new order created, just like you. New ship date is 29/03/11.
Ah well, at least I heard from them and this is something happening in the background.
I noticed on the Dell UK website, they are now charging the device at a lower cost - £365.13. It was £383 a few days ago.
Now for those people that ordered early, they have cancelled the order at £383 and created an new order at the new repriced the device at ~£365. Thing is, they are now charging us early buyers double the freight than what is normal, so they can get it to the price it was. i.e they are screwing us over.
What I mean is this:
Prior to price change:
£386.65 + VAT + Free Freight (if ordered before 3/3/2011) = £463.97
With new price change
£368.13 + VAT + £18.52 (freight) = £463.97
Now if you go the website and configure the device again, freight is only £9. They in essence they are charging us double the freight so they can charge us at the same price that we had ordered it at.
The stupid thing is that I ordered early to avoid the freight as they had an offer saying free freight if ordered before 3/3/2011. What makes it even worse is along with doing this, they pushed the delivery date back by 3 weeks.
I've written into Dell and told them to remove the freight altogether otherwise I'm cancelling my order.
I'm going to call them and blast them tomorrow.

Sorry I've been quite busy, so I didn't manage to reply you via PM.
Looks like you were screwed over by Dell also. Sucks to be one of the first.
I emailed them demanding they remove the shipping altogether (since I was promised no shipping), and they actually emailed back the following:
I hope this finds you well. I'm sorry to hear that you were charged more than what was offered to you on order#: XXXXXXX. I have requested that we waive the shipping fee fo £ 18.52 on the new order. However, we will need to wait for the order to ship out first before we can process a refund. Please reply to this email if you're ammendable on this. I will wait for your response. No update yet?
just an update.
my dvp order has changed status to in production about 2 days ago.
meaning that it should be sent by early next week (my guess). hopefully i should receive it by mid to the end of next week.
At last i think it may finally get released!! all suppliers are now saying the 26th for stock, i've found one supplier that had some in, called them and spoke to them, had them check they were actually on the shelf, and they confirmed that, put the phone down made the order on their website, now it says on their site on back order stock on the 26th, so i think they may have had a telling off from dell, or someone higher looked and said "we cant ship those yet" but at last looks like the phone will finally get full release in the uk!! FYI those that are buying from Dell direct, clove are doing them for 420 inclusive of VAT + £8 Delivery charge.
so thats another 30-40 saving for you all!

clove has the 8gb model for £420 + £8 for delivery (428)
dell has it for £449 including postage (go to the small business part of the website as its £10 cheaper than the normal customer part, dont ask me why) is for the 16gb version.
so its £21 more for a extra 8gb
I would wait until you get your VP and then if they don't refund you open a dispute with your bank/credit card company.
That will get you the difference back - maybe even more than the difference back depending on how pro-active Dell are about disputing prices.
My experiences of it are that I have never been charged for a disputed purchase ever after raising it with the card company so it is worth it should they not change the price.
I would also add that if you do dispute it - tell the cc/bank that you were over charged for an item you did not want.
I have a US unlocked VP and I am currently trying to see if I can get Dell to exchange it under warranty as its sliding mechinism is not straight and it freezes alot. I can live with this if
I have to and I don't regret buying it from the US but if Dell will honour the warranty then I will certainly try and get a better VP.
another update
no change on status and no money removed from account. i have email dell again and asked for a status update and when it will be sent. i have also asked if their warehouse works weekends as if they dont and its not sent tomorrow i will not receive it on moday (the estimated delivery date).
hopefully i get a responce to my email but i wont hold my breath.
its a bit anoying that their call centre is only open 9-5 mon-fri and thats when im at work.
Dell is an absolute waste of time in my opinion.
I ordered the phone on the 2nd March on its website. When I checked back a few days later I see that for some (still) unknown reason the order had been cancelled.
I emailed them and asked why it was cancelled and why I had not been emailed to let me know.
One of their support bods apologised and re-ordered it.
The estimated arrival date was and still is set for the 24th March!!
I also emailed them on the 13th and asked if I would be paying the cheaper price rather than the more expensive price on the launch day. Have received no reply!!
I emailed them yesterday also asking them what use the status page was if it is not kept up to date and when I might receive the phone. Have received no reply!!
What an absolute joke of a company. I have a good mind just to refuse delivery of the item when it does eventually get round to sending it out.
As spinstorm says, I won't hold my breath.
Paul.

Amazon uk ordering

Has anyone ordered the phone at amazon.co.uk?
Mine has an estimated dispatch date of 4-5 may and an estimated delivery date of 6-9 may (standard delivery to Belgium, 1-2 days). It has not been dispatched yet.
I have placed my order on 15 april for an estimated dispatch date of 30 april, updated about two weeks ago to 4-5 may.
I would appreciate it if you would share and update the delivery status in this topic.

Same for me... I got a thrill the other night when Amazon told me my item had been dispatched, but they were just talking about the cover I had ordered for the phone
I've come home from work and keep checking my email every two minutes, but no sign of a dispatch yet. I fear it's going to be next week before I get my hands on this phone!
Amazon quote
"Please be advised, although we do have stock of the item "Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II 16 GB Sim Free Smartphone" on hand, we are not able to dispatch it to you until the official release date, May 06, 2011. Many manufacturers restrict retailers from selling or dispatching their products until the official release date."

Stupid weekend getting in the way...
From the amazon uk forum, looks like we are not going to have the GS2 in a while.
I received the following from customer support a short while ago...
Hello,
I'm sorry for the unexpected delay of your order. I have researched the availability of "Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II 16 GB Sim Free Smartphone" and learned that its release has been delayed.
As soon as the item has been released, we'll be able to dispatch it to you. As per our standard policy, we do not charge you for items until they enter the dispatch process, so you will not be charged for this item until it is about to be sent.
In addition to a wide selection of items, one of our aims at Amazon.co.uk is to provide a convenient and efficient service; in this case, we have not met that standard. Once again we are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this issue and hope this will not discourage you from shopping with Amazon.co.uk in the future.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

I've no problem with Amazon if they've been let down by a supplier.
However, if a customer support employee can research to find that their release date is now obsolete, why are Amazon still advertising the 6th May as the release date on the product page?
I received an email from customer support a couple of days ago which stated that the phone will be in stock before the 6th May release date.
On the product page itself, someone posted an email from customer support saying that the phone was in stock, but they just weren't allowed to dispatch it until the 6th May release date.
I repeat, the delay itself is not something that is upsetting me. These things happen. However, the misguided information certainly is an issue. I expected a lot better from Amazon...
We regret to inform you that your order will take longer to fulfill than originally estimated. Our supplier has notified us that there is a delay obtaining stock for the following items you ordered on April 14 2011.
So who's going to wait for Amazon? Who's going to cancel their order and try somewhere else?
I'm thinking I'll be heading into town this weekend to see if I can buy one on the high street...
got the same message and I'm thinking of cancelling
Well, I did cancel my order and placed a new one at Handtec... lets see, they talk about shipping on 9 or 10th of may...
I was going to cancel, but then I received this e-mail. I think I'll wait just a little longer I guess.
Please be advised that we have a revised delivery date for the items you ordered on April 15 2011 (Order #202-6217273-4883543).
"Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II 16 GB Sim Free Smartphone"

I had the email from Amazon UK at 02:10 this morning stating the expected delivery date of today would not be met. I orderd on 28th April and I am an Amazon Prime Customer.
This morning I debated cancelling my order, but left it thinking a few days delay would not be too bad.
At 15:11 I received an order dispatch email with tracking number showing the phone had been handed over to Royal Mail at 14:34. Expected delivery is Saturday May 7th. I am glad i did not hit he cancel button too soon.
The bad news is it's being delivered to work so won't get to play until Monday.
Mike
Mine got dispatched last night and is expected to deliver on 12 May.

Shipping Starts on May 15th for Pre-Ordered EVO 4G LTEs!

Website was taking orders at 5:30 AM PDT, so I submitted my pre-order.
I checked back a little while ago and saw this on the "My Order" page:
Thanks for pre-ordering. A shiny new HTC EVO 4G LTE is waiting for you in our warehouse. Shipping starts May 15th and we will send you an email the second it ships. Delivery should occur within 1 to 3 business days thereafter. You may continue to track the status of your order on this web page. If you have questions, check out sprint.com/preorder for more info.
Not sure how many they'll ship that day, but it's encouraging!
Lucky! Mine says the generic backordered message.
Wonder how many people have the 5/15 shipping date message.....
"Your order or a portion of your order is in backorder status. @totalnub
Thanks for posting that. I had been wondering if you preorder, do you still get a 14day return window. Your post answered my unasked question
sent from 2yr old Evo on ICS
I preordered mine from sprint as well and i got the following...
"Your order or a portion of your order is in backorder status. If you would like to select an alternate product or cancel your backordered item, please call 866-789-8292 between 8:00 a.m. EST to 11:00 p.m. EST Monday to Friday or 9:00 a.m. EST to 9:00 p.m. EST on Saturdays and Sundays. Please note that cancellation requests may not always process successfully due to the speed of warehouse processing. If you cancelled your backordered item but still received a shipment, please refuse the shipment or call us to process a return within 14 days of receipt."
But the roumer with the 15 being the shipping day seems about right, that being said it will come out on the 18th, ensuring a 3 day shipping window.
I wonder when they will actually bill our debit/credit cards! I thought they were going to bill them during the preorder but i guess not! I have to make sure i have enough money in my bank for when they bill me! lol

My card was charged immediately. I verified that when I looked at my bank account after ordering.

@scottspa74
Yep, confirmed it on the phone as well.
They said that internet preorder returns would be valid 14 days from date of receipt. They did, however, mention that you would need to call them and they'd arrange for a prepaid return shipping (meaning you can't just drop it off at your local sprint store).
No big deal to me.
Also, when you preorder, the amount of the phone + tax will be charged to your credit card. This amount then goes on your account as a credit. The phone price doesn't get added to your account until the next billing cycle (possibly has something to do with 14day returns)
i.e. had outstanding balance of $140 before today, now I show an amount due of -$60 with a recent payment of $200 (for preorder)
Next month I'll get hit with the $200 charge to my bill to offset the pre-payed pre-order.
Kinda confusing but I guess it makes sense.

I noticed this, too. I'm showing a -$200+ Credit, though I assumed it would zero out once the phone ships.

Check your order status and see if you have a message to call Sprint. I checked my status and just had to call them for verification.
So, I just rechecked my order on the site, and now I get the backordered message, too:
Status: Your order or a portion of your order is in backorder status. If you cancelled your backordered item but still received a shipment, please refuse the shipment or call us to process a return within 14 days of receipt.
Oh well...I guess it gets here when it gets here!

Yea because right after I called and hung up they charged my card.
Got the stupid back order message now too but lady on phone when I did confirmation said they have not been told about any EVO LTE being on backorder yet. Maybe the message is just because the device can't ship yet because it hasn't been released.
the Charge just went thru. $ 238.74.
