its the same rom as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957123
but with /data and /cache converted to ext2 filesystem (lagfix).
/system was already /ext2 converted by Kyriilos
also note that this will wipe your /data partition, and do not wipe /data and /cache in recovery

Could you pls make it with the coming 2.2 Version, too

its a misprint! My name is Kyrillos and not Kyriilos

Its done
Because Kyrillos post a version without lagfix, so we can implant apollos "app2sd fix"
[ROM] Kyrillos' ROM v2.2 Gingerbread Edition without lagfix
Lagfix + data2sd (Quadrant score 570 + Lot of space for apps)
EDIT: ITS REAL DONE!
Link

I have got a problem with Kyrillos's ROM 2.2 With Special Lagfix.
After flash every thing is great until I restore apps and reboot phone
system services crush (force close) all the time.
I flash it 4 times (directly form Kyrillos ROM 2.2 Normal and from original JPF),
every time i obtain the same result ;(
On Kyrillos ROM 2.2 Normal it's work like a dream.
Anyone have any idea why?
(i post here cuz i can't post in development yet)

How do you restore apps ?
No idea ... but lagfix is very experimental and the way it was done is not the best. Use lagfix to test : your phone may crash.
/system, /data and /cache are converted to ext2 fs : we didnt include any filecheck if the phone was shut down ... ext2 has no journal system and could make android instable in my opinion if the phone is shutdown (like if you remove battery).
Someone may correct me if I am wrong.

I restore apps by My Backup Root and it's always work.
Now I flash normal Kyrillos ROM 2.2 then install Motafoca lagfix and everything works well.
It's supposedly give the same effect but phone works without crushes.
Maybe it's a bug in that ROM or maybe my backuped stuff screw something up.
I really dunno

I installed Kyrillos' Rom 2.2 (Normal Version) yesterday. Really nice...everything is working fine so far. Does anyone know how to take screenshots with this rom? [Back + Home] doesn't work

Try QtABD. It runs on PC and can take screenshots as well.
Edit: Sorry, you think probably of a standalone solution where you don't need a PC.

Yes, that's what I'm searching for. I thought taking screenshots by pressing Back+Home is a Froyo feature. But in this Rom it doesn't work. So if maybee I'll search the Market for a screencapture-app

Hi!
Can't write in dev part so to try here ... after all I am n00b
Installed 2.2 normal and then did lag+app2sd and everything is working nicely ...
I have a question though ... what if I decide to ay usd2.99 for LauncherPro Plus. Can I install it over the LauncherPro that is integrated into this ROM. I tried uninstall and install over but w/o success. It's system app (so it says) and I can't do aything about it. On previous e.g. normal JPF I was able touninstall reinstall LPPro. What did I miss?
Tnx.

LauncherPro Plus is essentially a key unlocking new features in free version, no need to install anything, especially reinstalling launcher.
To remove system app you have to root your phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778880) and get acces to system files (Root Explorer, qtadb, adb). Of course if you are removing one launcher, you have to have another already installed.
Nice hearing that apollo's lagfix is running well on kyrillo's 2.2, it's running nice on lestat's 1.1 as well.

Anyway to have all (Cahce\System\Data\ converted to ext2 and also partition the sdcard (apollo5801's lagfix). So in short, how can I have special lagfix + sdcard partitioned?

hi guys,
i think it would be wise to use the experience already earned from galaxy s i9000
from guys like supercurio, darky and hardcore, their work is VERY STABLE as it is heavily tested and proved to do miracles.
no one is using ext2 anymore,
i quote:
"Note: Only lagfixes using EXT4 are robust. Other lagfixes run the risk of data loss on freezing, hard-reboots, or sudden power loss."
they have opted for ext4 , to be more specific:
hardcore (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756)
would recommend
DATA_FS=ext4
CACHE_FS=ext4nj
DBDATA_FS=ext4
and he has applied many other tweaks
i dont see why his experience cant be used for the galaxy 3
in addition the link below could be useful
[REF] Details about /system RFS corruption and HOWTO correct it (fix included)

Why wouldn't you run apps2sd? I've got the csdi roms with apps2sd and this thing is blazing fast. Besides, if you're going for apps with larger sizes, you're going to want apps2sd.
I find I'm OK with the 1.6 roms with Eclair bits. Don't need live wallpapers, and the Eclair bits have all the necessary things anyway. Personally I think the 1.6 roms are very stable at this point. Very few fcs and they're speedy.
fellows plz mention me the rom name ..i don't need live wallpapers coz it just slow the os and saying force close and what about 3d gallery coz i m not able to see the pics there..
@nmw407...mate plzz mention the rom name or i just need to unroot it and use 1.6
right?
i really recommend cyanogen. i stopped using it at 4.0.4. flashed every version he's ever made and i never really had good speed. this latest one is NICE, though, and i've hopped back on. for now. but i hear these CSDI ROMs are fast. just try any of them.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=448
just look for CSDI in the post title.
as for partitioning, i use amon_ra's recovery.
I've tried cyanogen, superD, and now I'm currently on sciencetest. All these have been very stable. For those starting out, cyanogen has the best step-by-step guide, however, it does require additional steps because he went legal. Some of the other 1.6 roms out there are one step roms.
Use amon-ra's recovery, partitioning sd cards have never been simpler. Much better than partition manager. I used to get read/write errors all the time with partition manager. With the latest amon-ra's recovery, you can pretty much do everything on the phone.
Just remember to nandroid/bart backup, and completely wipe before flashing a rom (again... super easy with amon-ra recovery.) Having a backup will save your life or at least some hair.
Right now using CaNNon202....but as as always its slow
CSDI is really fast and really reliable for me (not using apps2sd). I've had like 1 or 2 app crashes total, and I've been running it for the past month or so, so it's been a lot more stable than any other rom I've flashed previously.
Plus, you get a lot of options like customizing the number of columns in app drawer and number of home screens.
Go Cyanogen. v5 is on the way, which wont be a generic half-assed 2.1 port with reduced functionality.

This is the 2.1 Eris OTA(JULY) With Root, A2SD, and Overclocking.
This is for people that like the SENSE UI, and have lots of apps.
I was using PLAINJANE and filled up the internal Memory, so I went about looking for a way to keep the rom and have all my apps.
Presenting PlainJaneT2 V2.0 Screenies attached New Fonts!
Change Log:
Code:
[B][U]PlainJaneT2 v1.0[/B][/U]-Added A2sd to Original PlainJane from Jcase.
[U][B]PlainJaneT2 v1.1-1.4[/B][/U]-Various Deodexed Versions of
the Rom that never were made public.
[U][B]PlaingJaneT2 v2.0[/B][/U]
-Based on JULY OTA
- Fully Deodexed without any FC (This was a Killer to figure out...)
- Added the Newest A2sd Preview 4
-Added Scripts to rom to enable ext mounting on linux
systems, get cpu Info, make system folder rw, and the ability to
zipalign all apks.
-Added Modified boot screen.
-Changed Default Fonts.
-Made it all stock (some People were asking to leave the apps untouched.
^^(I made a flash zip you can you use to get rid of the all BloatWaredelete)
Remember to BACKUP your sdcard before doing the step below!!!.
Things you need to know and do.
How to set up your sd card for a2sd:
Code:
1. Boot into recovery
2. Scroll down to PARTITION SDCARD
3.Click On PARTITION SD
4.Click trackball to confirm
5.Select Swap size 32mb is fine
6.Select ext size (I did 768mb you don't have to make it that big)
7.Click again to partition sd card.
8.Go to PARTITION SD menu and choose SD:ext2 to ext3
This New A2sd Makes it so when you go to the data/app folder, it actually takes you to the /system/sd/app folder. So when you use Root Explorer to look at the data/app folder you are actually looking at the /system/sd/app folder.
You know you are in the /system/sd/app folder in root Explorer because at the very top it says something like this "92.88MB used 593.51MB free" as we all know the Eris doesn't have that much space in the data/app folder. The space in the data/app folder might still be going down because the cache isn't moved to the sd card by default, if you want to change this you can change it yourself.
For a2sd help:
Code:
adb shell
su
a2sd help
Use of scripts:
Code:
Go into terminal emulator or adb and run these scripts
-"sys -rw" Will Make system Read and Write
-"sys -ro "Will Make system Read Only"
-"usb -e" Will mount Sdcards Partitions" On linux
systems will mount the EXT partition. Sorry windows people.
"usb -d" Will unmount the sdcard Partitions..
-"cpuinfo" Will give you the OverClock settings,
giving you the max, min, and what you have it set to.
-"zipalign_apks" Does just that zipalign all apks.
To change the over clocking settings Download Setcpu from this thread Here
Remember to Wipe Factory/cache Before flashing this rom.

[SIZE="4"]General[/SIZE]
This rom is heavy, just over 100MB. You have to realize though that this is not an AOSP or even SLIGHTLY Vanilla rom, its completly stock based.
The fact that its Sense based is also going to have some effect on battery life. Don't expect to come from White Widow and see the same kind of battery life.
This rom also takes a HELL of a long time on first boot. Thats because of the de-odexed files.
[SIZE="4"]Installation[/SIZE]
Wipe data/dalvik and flash like normal from recovery.
If you experience FC's on the first boot, you may need to wipe your SD-ext. This can be done from the Recovery Menu under the "wipe" sub-section.

-Make a backup of everything on your SD card.
-From the recovery menu choose Partition sdcard.
-Choose Partition SD
-Select the defaults for all the sizes.
-Choose SD:ext2 to ext3

Good release ....forgot how smooth Sense can be
Quick question about a2sd: Say you flash to another ROM that also uses a2sd. Do you have to delete any app data on the sd or does the new ROM overwrite it, or neither? LOL. Thanks for this ROM! just flashed and will let you know if there are any issues.
One random reboot. Used my phone for a sec, set it down, looked over and heard the vibrate and it was rebooting.

I have been using this rom for a while now and havent had reboots, If you didn't wipe the EXT partition its probably what caused it because most rom's are using the old version of a2sd and not the new one and it might be causing reboots.
If it reboots again let me know so i can see what's causing it.
Had another reboot. Before I flashed, I setup my storage card exactly as your instructions said. Only thing is, how do you know if the apps are being installed on the sd? If I go to data/ there is no app folder but there is in sd/data. Also I read on the darktremor thread about davlik cache decreasing and that can also be moved to storage card. Not sure how to do that though. I know it's not your ROM. Maybe I should try completely wiping and partitioning the card again?
edit: Removed sd card from device and installed apps lose icons and FC. So I guess they are installed to sd. Only thing is the phone rebooted when I reinserted the sd card. Suggestions? Thanks for your help man!!
edit: Oh man it's actually an endless reboot. What to do....
edit: Did a battery pull while it was looping and it booted up fine. No clue whats going on. I'll let you know if it reboots again. Oh man also, after the successful boot, my cd card seems corrupted. In astro, every item is just lines and square with file type "2". I'm going to wipe, repartition and try again.... wish me luck!!

Yeah its bad to pull sdcard while the phone is on because thats where all your apps are installed on, if you pull card your phone will look for the apps but wont find them thus causing the fc's
I would do a clean flash and wipe because it sounds like you messed up your sdcard when you pulled it. I've been running this rom for about a week and haven't had a reboot or anything like that.
Make sure you backup your sdcard if you don't want to loose any of your pictures and stuff.
EDIT: make sure you do a ext wipe also.

Hey t2noob! Well I think I have it this time. I was worried that somehow my sd card was trashed. I was trying to wipe the ext and recovery was giving me an error saying that it was unable to wipe. I had to wipe it using ADB. I completely wiped like 3 times, repartitioned, flashed, and everything seems to be ok. I'm thinking my sd card is possibly on it's way out. Also, I'm hesitant to try putting the Davlik cache on the card. I'll check back in tomorrow if there are any issues. Everything else seems fine though. Do you know of anyway to check and see if there is an issue with the sd card or do they just crap out when their time is up?

A few words about the Optional But Totally Awesome Steam Kernel
Ok, so hopefully you read a bit about it in SzutpY's post. I compiled Steam recovery in English and made a kernel utilizing it. The kernel is similar in many ways to the Universal Lagfix Kernel SztupY also created. It has many of the same lagfix schemes, kernel tweaks, etc, again, all with a touchscreen interface. Other than Steam recovery, this kernel is identical to my 12-23 oc/uv kernel, so it's overclocked, and undervolt configurable, and it should be just as stable as that one.
Do not attempt to take the zImage with Steam recovery and place it in a flashable zip. You'll be a sad panda if you do. I'd advise waiting a few minutes after your system has booted to flash with Neldar's app. If you're using Odin, or Heimdall, reboot to download mode and flash like normal. Those are the options, either Neldar's app (AND NOT Tuxility!!) There are issues with flashing this via redbend_ua - the regular kernel can be flashed via redbend_ua, Steam cannot be.)
Steam recovery is based on ClockworkMod, but you have a touchscreen interface at recovery. Steam has many options to lagfix your system. So, you can have an all ext4 system (including /system), an all jfs system (again, including /system) or something in between. Read through sztupy's posts about Steam, or spend some time playing with it. I have to admit I was a little skeptical of it at first, but after using it for the last week or so, I absolutely love it.
If you're doing a filesystem conversion from Steam recovery, the zeroth thing you should do is check to make sure you have enough room on your SD card to copy /system, /data, /dbdata, and /cache. Then, make a backup. Occasionally after a filesystem conversion, the system will bootloop. Performing a three button forced reset and rebooting solves this. (In my experience at least. Like I said, make sure to backup first.)
If you do choose a No-RFS lagfix in Steam - Make sure you disable it before flashing another kernel/ROM. No-RFS uses a fake /efs to get a completely-rfs free ROM (only works if /system is set to be mounted as rw).
If it seems as though you've lost su (root)
So, I don't know why Steam does this, but the reason people were losing su was because it was automatically mounting /system nosuid. So, to fix this, there's probably more than one way to do this, but an easy way is to go into Steam, under boot options, select 'Always run adb as root' or something like that. Then reboot, open a terminal and type
Code:
mount -o remount,suid /dev/block/stl9 /system
. That will remount su access to /system (pretty important ), and then you will have root again, and Steam is finally usable again. Flash another kernel or whatever) I was really hoping I could blame this on something MikeyMike did, hmm...I may still find a way. ( Alternatively, it seems if you do a filesystem conversion on /system, /system will be remounted suid so you won't have to go through this, and I think /system conversions don't end up in boot loops like /data and /dbdata.

I'll probably edit this a few more times as there will be things that I want to add but have slipped my mind for the moment.
Ok - I uploaded a copy of the Steam kernel here. It deserves its own thread and it will get one, just don't feel like doing it right now. Read through this post, realize there are some errors with filesystem conversion. Make sure you do backups, if you get into a boot loops, do a hard reset and reboot normally, you should be good. This is meant to be flashed via Neldar's SGS Kernel Flasher app, or something like Heimdall or Odin.
Alright...lets get started

[Q] [ROM] X8 | Sense | 2.1 | 2.2 | 2.3 | xRecovery [WiP]

As I can't post in the dev forum I though I'd ask in here; maybe we can use this as Q/A thread and keep the dev thread clean
I've been wanting to mess about a bit with those roms, and I've installed aZuZu's kitchen and loaded up the system.img from the 2.2.1 CM Floyo v0.10. As I can't live w/o headphones I will look into that as a test. I know I might be totally off track here, but I want to try
I want to include the SystemConnector.apk as that seems to be responsible for 3.5mm jack. When I introduce it into the 2.2.1 system I get error: "has no signatures that match those in shared user android.uid.system; ignoring!" Does this mean I have to re-sign it? and with what key?
I've tried signing the app on the phone using zipsigner, and I've used all types of keys. I still end up with the same error..
Now on the latest 2.2.1 that racht have done and my errors are:
Code:
D/PackageManager( 1743): Scanning package com.sonyericsson.systemconnector
D/PackageManager( 1743): Shared UserID android.uid.system (uid=1000): packages=[PackageSetting{462e19c8 com.android.settings/1000}, PackageSetting{462e31b8 com.google.android.backup/1000}, PackageSetting{462dfd80 com.google.android.location/1000}, PackageSetting{462e2fb8 com.android.server.vpn/1000}, PackageSetting{462e27b8 com.android.providers.settings/1000}, PackageSetting{462e0610 com.cyanogenmod.cmparts/1000}, PackageSetting{462e2358 com.android.providers.subscribedfeeds/1000}, PackageSetting{462e1808 android/1000}]
E/PackageManager( 1743): Package com.sonyericsson.systemconnector has no signatures that match those in shared user android.uid.system; ignoring!
W/PackageManager( 1743): Package couldn't be installed in /data/app/com.sonyericsson.systemconnector-1.apk
AFAIK it's using the system uid to gain some specific rights, so I'm not sure if I should change that. I'll try to copy it to /system/app and set rights and chown it to 1k:1k and see what happens
2.2.1 CyanogenMod Floyo v0.11
Hi! Maybe that the mistake is at me, but for me this it mondta( 2.2.1 CyanogenMod Floyo v0.11), that the memory the safe removal of a card, restarted then :S. All this kb 15perc after a usage. One 16GB-Class digs 4 microSD-t I am useful, FAT32 and EXT2 partitions.
I had the same, but 0.12 is stable for me.
What I did:
- I use MyBackup Root to keep a backup of my mms/sms/call log and a few select apps. I also keep a copy of that on my sdcard. I use the stock sdcard...
I started up xRecovery
- Cleared the cache partition
- Mounted my sdcard so I could format my 348mb Ext3 partition from windows using Minitool Partition Wizard Home Edition.
- Installed 0.12 from restore function.
Rebooted and rewarded myself with a coffee
Installes/changes:
- Installed ADW.launcher (opensource version)
- Removed other launcher
- Installed the earphones changer (see main thread for info - SUPARFANTASTIC!)
- Installed Super Manager (it's got it's own version of BusyBox so it won't fail like Root Explorer)
- Removed unwanted apps that racht left behind
Going for a few hrs now and been stable. Don't know about battery usage yet but I can live with that. It's stable and I think racht will continue on his epic quest and I'll follow him as good as I can
hi..
anyone has try 2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12?
when i use this rom, 3G/GPRS is not functioning...
in the detail that rom can use 3G/GPRS but why i can't?
anyone can tell me why?
sorry my english is bad...
Seems to me like you'll have to install a bunch of updates to get a working one. So far I think it's luck when I get something working and when it's not. Currently trying out the X10 one that's ported to X8, but market is failing. Maybe it can work if I apply it on top of something else.. Reverting to racht's 2.2.1
If you've not done so install the SDK and then you can do "adb logcat" to see log output on your pc if it's connected to phone. You might want to redirect output to a file with command like:
adb logcat >output.txt
And then you can browse through it later
My tip: install 0.11 and then upgrade to 0.12 like 1st post sais.
I returned to 0.12 and copied the SystemConnector.apk from the mini and put it on my sdcard and installed it Works like a charm.
My 0.12 status
not working:
- Video encode
- Crypto - so app2sd-aware apps won't install - like angrybirds.
By umounting sdcard angrybirds and other apps will install
- FM radio
-Mount sdcard to PC - no issue for me for now
working:
- all that post sais should be working
- headphones (the stock ones) by installing the app from the mini release.
What I did:
Cleaned out everything but my fat partition on the sdcard.
Format /data
Format /system
Format /cache
Format ext3 partition
Install 0.12 from backup
Install SystemConnector
Install ADW.Launcher (opensource version)
Install AppManager (as UninstallForRoot won't install for me - crypto related)
Remove unwanted system apps
Press Power only to giggle at the awesome "oldskool tv-off animation" and then turn screen back on.
Show off phone to GF who sais she'll keep her stock install while I reboot all day

Hello,
I tried both floyo and gingerbread and they are great (thanks Racht!) but some apps are missing: The Radio and countdown. I think that these are really useful apps, so please put them in floyo, better in gingerbread.
Another thing, instead of the simple calculator is it posible to usa a calculator at least wit the percentage?
thanks Racht for a great experience,

Hi,
I have installed 2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12. It's work great but I but two minor issues :
I can't upgrade launcher pro
I can't start root explorer and that crash my SD card
Does anyone have a solution ?
2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12 doesn't boot
I have a rooted android 1.6 phone (Xperia X8). I made a backup from my android 1.6 and installed "2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12" with xrecovery, but when I reboot, he shows only the text "HACKDROID" and does nothing else. To shutdown the phone I am forced to take off the battery, because anything else doesn't work. I restored my android 1.6 backup and everything works like before.
How can I use "2.2.1 CM HACKDROID v0.12" with my phone ? Should I first upgrade to android 2.1 ?

I have the same problem with the other versions cm7_v0.6, cm6_v0.11, floyo_v0.10. I did a full wipe, wipe cache partition, wipe davilk cache before each restore, but it changes nothing.

[Q] How do i install G3MOD v2.0 ROM

Well, I downloaded"G3MOD v2.0.rar"
When i extracted the file i got "system.img" usually it's .tar
I couldn't flash it with Odin
And the instructions to install the ROM isn't mentioned.
1) Install G3Mod 1.7 (Pick a edition out of the 4).
2) Copy system.img in /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/G3MODv2_ROM
3) Go into the recovery mode (shutdown the phone, press VOL UP + VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER button to start the phone, when GT-I5800 text pops up release the POWER button and keep on pressing VOL UP VOL DOWN and HOME buttons until you are in recovery screen).
4) Go into Multiboot and select the G3MODv2_ROM and let the phone boot up. Might take several minutes.

You can't build a signature with under 10 posts or so.
What's wrong with the sreenshots you show?
Mine doesn't look like how its supposed to ,
It looks just like the stock ROM except the icons look smaller than before
I wanted mine to look just like this -
Have a look at the first post of the development thread.

Hey.. If you have already flashed it like it was mentioned earlier in the thread.. You should be running G3Mod v2.0 .. And the theme.. Not to worry.. That is the theme of v2.0 ..

Well, when we're talking about "Multi boot" we dont exactly mean the kind of Multi-boot on your PC, like Linux and Windows, where you have to make different partitions for both the OS
Here, we are just switching one ROM to another from CWM Recovery. So basically what that mean is, you are using one ROM at a time
Hope that's clear

If you dont want to use multiboot, then you dont have to. You can use 1.7v as any other Kernel with One ROM as well. Multiboot is an additional functionality added by DharamG so that we can, if we want have another ROM, without having to flash it using ODIN all the time. It is of great value for testers and those of us who like to try out new ROMs. You can as well use 1.7 on Kyrillos 7..it will work great.

How did you solve the problem? i`m in the same situation. (i`m not out of space but i want to use app2sd)
Fixed: I took the app2sd-v2 script from here and stick it to /system/etc/init.d/ then factory reset.
