Anyone else having issues with their contacts? My contacts show up, however none have any phone numbers. I noticed this first after Dexters 1.2 update and am still having the issuew with the 1.3 update.

Same issue here. No numbers.

The phone numbers are still there, but hidden from view.
If you go to edit a contact, you will see the number.

Yeah, I noticed that last night. The numbers field seem to be missing from the main app, but if you hit edit they are there. Strange....

I noticed that the Phone app is missing after upgrading to Mod 1.3. Could that be a part of this issue as well? Maybe it won't show numbers if there is no app seen to utilize them?

What rom were you originally running that had a phone app?
I think it's not so much that it is not displaying phone info for lack of phone app. I think it is just the contacts app itself. Someone might try using the contacts app from another device, it might work better.
Yeah, I don't think it's related to the phone app.
At any rate I think I'll be selling my A7 (both of them) as I'm out of a job now and could use the money more than the device. My g tablet will bet me buy for now.

After loading Dexters mod 1.1 I noticed the phone dialer was present. When I went to mod 1.3 it was gone. I really didn't see a purpose for it originally but I have seen some posts here about using apps to call with A7.
Would the dialer be necessary for that? I was looking in the market for a replacement. Is there another source?

I am missing Babelsnap (a OCR translator) and Twidroid, from the marketplace entirely. They do not show up when I search, and they are no longer listed in my apps...when I very clearly bought and paid for them both...
anyone else have this issue of the marketplace not showing certain apps?

Yes, it is because the market app, or something along those lines, is making the market think you are not in a place that you can legally buy those apps or something like that. It is a part of this being an alpha stage ROM.
IIRC, some people tried installing the market from the google apps pack in the CM ROM thread, but I haven't tried and didn't see what the results were of that.

Oh well the hazards of running with the newest I guess...
Speaking of, I notice that syncing contacts to the phone using this build isn't really working either. Missing sync says it pushed 202 contacts but when you go view, non of them show up. So I guess big lol on that part, I actually ahve to use sim contacts for once...

Mine synced fine, but I have noticed a lot of sync issues.
ie, Picasa "syncs" but doesn't save the pictures. It is clear there is a lot of alpha to this.

Very true I might stick with this for another day and go back to CM for now.
Not worth the hassle at this point. Although finally having navigation working is a pretty big bonus.
Has anyone been able to find a way to make Facebook update properly on the HD2 these days?

I've also been having this same problem. I had to log out and re-log back in to refresh the updates. I don't know why it's been doing this.
log out log in again every time you want it to update or you can use the client build into the browser. Been fudged up for a few weeks now
Logging in and out does not seem to work for me oddly enough.
Seems like such a simple program.
I know they are working on new security, interfaces, certificates and the like, but...really...this is as rudimentary a facebook experience as one can get and I find it very strange that it has not been addressed with an update in the marketplace.

this is an older version of the app.. the current version is 1.1.0.17
Well that is the latest version that I could find. Its the same as the one here..but the functionality is basically the same despite the version number.

the version off of the market place is 1.1.0.17 the one on the phone was older than that by a long shot as it was 1.0.0.0.7 or something like that
Which is very true, but they both offer the same features and functionality so the version differenece seems prettty trivial to me.
while the features are similar the PQ is loads better on the new app....no more low res crap pix.......

Nothing seems to fix it. The ONLY way I can get on Facebook on my HD2 now, is to use XDA-Facebook...which is a better application anyway in my opinion. I think the problem is with Facebook itself, not the app but I cannot confirm this.

From what I've read it's a Microsoft issue. FB changed some **** and Microsoft has yet to develop an update to make their facebook app work with facebook. I guess FB let Android, Iphone, etc know the changes were coming and Microsoft just doesn't care about our Winmo 6.5 software enough to work on it. There are some threads on the internet about this where people are wigging the hell out over it. Saying they will never buy another winmo phone because of it. It's kinda funny.
The FB app on my phone hasn't worked for over a month. Do I care? Not that much. The FB app on my iphone 2G works just fine.

Ditto. The Facebook app has never worked for me. As soon as I enter my user information the app will update my news feed, photos, and status ONCE. Ever since, I have found that the mobile version of FB is excellent for what I need. I it doubt that the app will ever be updated.
Since I have redone my phone, contacts in my contact list the name is now showing up in text messages. Anyone know what the problem may be?

Ok I took my phone back to stock. I have since put a custom kernel on it, mobile ap, and emotionless beast. Every since then when I get a text message of someone from my contact list, it only shows the number instead of the name.
Hopefully that makes better sense.

It does but I don't have any experience with different roms or.kernels on the Epic. Can't really help :/ hopefully someone else knows

I am a flash-a-holic, so maybe I can help a "little".!! I have noticed that many of the latest/greatest themes use some form of the stock messaging ap, which has a check box in the settings menu (under "extra settings") that says something like "Only Mobile Numbers". Unchecking this has fixed this issue for me.
And before I get flamed too bad by people who "know" this isn't the reason, but have not offered their own suggestions - this is what I have noticed and what has worked for me!
i swear that is a setting... i cannot remember exactly where i saw that but i know i did, unless it was on another android... i wish i could be more help, ill try to see if i can look it up tomorrow at work, have access to all the menus on one screen rather than cheking everything on my phone
I always sync my favorite contacts with Facebook but since sometimes my phone contacts don't have a picture that fits well on the contact avatar of the phone or they're not alone in the picture- I like to use a picture that I added myself on the phone. I've realized that everytime FB syncs with the phone my contacts picture automatically changes to the new picture on FB and I have to go back to the personal picture myself. Has anyone else experienced this same "bug" ? It never happened to me with Liberated Eclair

Suggestion: Since we have 2 kernel options for FR008, I would make a nandroid backup of your current ROM/kernel and then flash the other kernel and see if you still have the issue. If you didn't experience the issue on Liberated Eclair, then maybe Liberated Froyo with the HTC Hong Kong kernel may not have the issue. Just a thought?

I forgot to mention that I'm running FR008 with the HK kernel. What are you running? Have you had this problem before?
I don't think its a bug. It was also present on the stock A&T 2.1 rom that came with the phone.
I think HTC just made it so if you choose to sync fb contacts it will automatically select the newest pictures available. Sadly, I never found a way to bypass it (so I just switched to CM6).

I running the HK kernel, too, however, I don't allow FB to sync contacts because this is a company phone and I use the company's Exchange Server to store and sync my contacts.
For me it's an intermittent issue. For some contacts the override stays indefinitely, for some a few days, and for one person it reverts to the FB pic with every synch. I have no idea what logic HTC uses to determine which pic to show.

Really? I used 2.1 for like 3 months since I got my phone and I never dealed with this issue. Now on FR008 it's so annoying, some of my contacts switches pictures everyday and I have to constantly revert my phone contacts to the desired picture. Maybe it's not a bug and it's a function causing this, I just wish I knew which one

i don't think its a bug. facebook is syncing properly and pulling the appropriate information. if anything, i'd imagine the bug was with eclair for not pulling the picture.
if you don't like dealing with it, you can always switch back.

Did you even read the thread? I tell my phone specifically to use the picture I asigned to my contacts but it keeps on switching to the picture on FB.

So, I recently exchanged my HD2 for a new one, and the ROM was upgraded on the new one (I think). It's 3.14.561.1 WWE. I used to be able to sync my Facebook with my contacts on my old phone, but for some reason it doesn't work. When you go to Link the Facebook with a contact, it's supposed to show up their picture, but instead, it show's the grey head. After browsing, I noticed theres nothing in \Windows\FBContacts, but 3 random picture's in \Temp\fbimagecache. I'm between a rock and a hard place. Facebok v1.1.0.26
tl;dr Would having 3.14 ROM and this v of fb make a difference?
