[Q] Using nultiples identities on Email.apk - Galaxy Tab General

Hi,
I have configured my Gmail account to send emails using multiple identities.
When I use Gmail (on Android), I can choose the email address will appear in the "From", but i don't known howto do that using the standard Email application from Samsung.
Is it possible? nope?

None uses Gmail multiple identities with standard Samsung Email app?
thx

When I press the email address in the from field I can change my identity from there... This is using the native email client.

please,
have you configured only a account or more than one?
you can change the sender between your gmail defined identities or you can select any identity?
thx

Using 2 gmail and 1 hotmail account. I can switch identities between all 3 just by pressing the email address in the from field.

ok, is not my case...
i have ONE Gmail address, and i have configured ALL my satelite address that are redirected to my principal, and i have defined the identities in my gmail account (google).
with gmail is possible to answer the messages using any of these identities (in ONE Gmail address). in fact, gmail answer by default using the real receiver identity and no my principal identity.
with Email this only works if my identities are accounts

I see, I have them all set up as individual accounts in the native email client. Perhaps that's why it works for me.

thanks anyway

The default htc mail app has a bug that prevents hotmail via activesync. Use k9 mail or exchange by touchdown

Hi, there was another thread on this the other day. I've finally managed to set up my phone with hotmail using Activesync.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900973
Make sure that your username is your full email address rather than just the first part. eg. if your email is [email protected], it'll probably default your username to just sausage. Change it to use your full email.
Also for the server make sure you change it to m.hotmail.com.
Good luck
I always get the error, failed to create account. Please try again later.
I had to install the stock 2.2 mail app which works.
Id love to get this to work on the stock app tho.
This works in the 1.72 update now on the HTC Mail App... However I get constant sync-ing issues with mine so I dont use it and use the web email for now until they have sorted it out.
K9 don't work with hotmail exchange. M$ uses a old protocol not supported by K9 (well from the last time I used it anyway).
Google Mail app works (no html support) and touchdown (with HTML support).
Imo just push all your email to a Google account. Setting up a hotmail account is kinda troublesome. Gmail works better for DHD IMHO.
It now works with the new OTA. If you're still having problems, I suggest using Android Revolution HD 2.0.5. It solved the issue for me.

Yahoo mail working from stock email app

Ok, so I just wanted to share little-something with you guys here at XDA
As you probably know adding Yahoo mail from stock EMail app will not get you anywhere... BUT what I found working is next:
1) Go to Social hub app;
2) Add account type "other";
3) fill in your yahoo mail settings;
4) and yep, it will pass verification
5) yahoo mail will be automatically added to EMail app;
6) use your Yahoo mail without need for installing other email client
Greetings!
I setup using stock Email app itself without any problem. Did you tried the stock first?

Yahoo mail not giving push service when you add in stock email app.(b'coz yahoo doesn't support idle IMAP)
there is separate yahoo mail app on market by yahoo inc. Working fine for me with push mail support
Another third party client supports yahoo push service is seven mail.
I had no issue setting Yahoo up. If you use the default app auto setup it uses pop email. Don't use this use the manual option and setup as an imap email account. The settings are available with a quick google.
i tried adding yahoo in def mail client using auto and it didnt work. when added in described way auto gives samsung.imap.mail.yahoo.com for incoming mail client. so, this is quick way of adding yahoo without need for manual settings. i use yahoo as secondary email so this does the job.
When you mean default , I meant Samsung default email app. I used settings as Imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
I then setup gmail and hotmail manually using the Microsoft exchange options and also had push email too if wanted.
So default Samsung email app works really well without using Google email app.
Stock email app only asked for my email address and configured my yahoo account automatically. Has worked fine since day 1.

I use the yahoo mail app for my note, I would love to use the stock email app but it does not support push notifications and I don't think its on yahoo's part for the push notifications as on my ipod I use the mail app and its push notifications work fine with my yahoo account so I'm thinking its the stock app that doesn't support push notifications and hopefully the email app has push notifications on ICS

[Q] POP3 App That Leaves Messages on Server

Is there a POP3 App that will leave the emails on the server (so that MS outlook can download them)
I looked at K9 but I did not see that option.
Thank you!
The default email app will do this by default. In fact, it won't delete anything unless you change the incoming mail setting to delete either on download or on delete from the app's inbox.
Open your account settings and check out the incoming mail settings.

USE I-MAP...
I have always had trouble with pop accounts not following the leave copy on server . I map will use a bit more data but will sync your email across all devices..
imap is the way to go
If you have the option of using IMAP, sure. Some providers don't give you that option (Earthlink for one) or you don't want 5 different "Inbox" folders in your mail client. Or maybe your provider really limits your mailbox size. Nothing wrong with POP, its just a tool.

Mail app no longer spoofing Email address

I use the Mail app as I don't like the layout of the Gmail app.
I have my mail accounts set so that my Google mail account should send emails as my main ntlworld(virgin) account.
Until recently this all worked fine, but now all my emails are been delivered from my Google mail account. I have not changed any settings so it must either be a change to the gmail servers or the mail app.
Strangely using the gmail app the spoofing still works.
Anyone experienced this or know how to get things working again.

Email Spam

The native email has a feature that allow s me block unwanted email but it doesn't work it adds the address to the list then it says moving failed. And the bad emails keep coming

My Tab S also same.... but this only happen with Gmail account.... Hotmail account got no problem at all, it can register spam domain perfectly...
Do you found the solution?
FOUND THE SOLUTION: check your email label in desktop version of gmail. make sure that Junk label is shown on IMAP.
