[Q] HD2 LEO T8585 Clone - bootloader corrupted - HD2 General

I flash this phone with a wrong image, and now only a black screen appear.
Is impossible to make any key combination to get to the "download screen" ?
If I try to connect it via ActiveSync, fail, nor with K3firstAid. The only thing I recognize is the Huawei PC COM port. Appears only slightly illuminating the display, and nothing more.
I pray all the masters of this kind of cell phone to tell me that there is salvation, and if so, let me explain the process the "resurrection". (excuse the Google translation)
Thanks in advance

If it's not a true HTC phone then there is nothing that can be done for it here.

No, not a real HTC, a Chinese copy of it. I've seen on this forum that many people have problems with these phones, so I thought that there is someone who will help me.

My guess is that your fake HD2 uses a different bootloader than the real one. Most issues with the HD2 can be undone, so long as the bootloader is intact. Screw up the bootloader and your phone is done for. Also these ROMS are built for the HD2's hardware and drivers. Your phone may look like somewhat like an HD2, but the similarities stop there. Should have bought a real HD2.

Why you want to flash a fake HD2 with a genuine HD2 ROM in the first place is beyond me.......

I have not upgraded to the real HTC firmware, but with the wrong Chinese ROM, I accidentally made a flash from the model T5353, which does not comply, we reported the error at the 80% upgrade, is that I damaged the boot and communicate with the PC. Now I found the original ROM, all the tools we need to upgrade properly, but we need help to restore the PC communication, how to ActiveSync or any similar applications to recognize? Here are its hardware, you might be helpful:
· Operating system: Windows Mobile 6.5
· CPU: 520MHz Hisilicon-K3
· RAM: 256M, ROM: 256M, extend to 16GB max
· 4.3 inch touch screen, WVGA PX: 480 * 800

You technically don't have an HD2, as the hardware in your phone is COMPLETELY different.
So if you're looking for a definitive answer here, you probably won't get one, as there's very little relation between your phone and the real HD2.

Your pretty much screwed. Only option is to jtag, or move on.

Hello,
Recently I made a wrong flash ROM, and then I managed to turn on the mobile. I'm desperate and I hope you can help. After I returned from service, he could not do anything, I tried something at home. Basically, when I connect to the PC via USB, recognize it as a "new device", then install the IDT, then my PC recognizes it as "Huawei USB COM 1.0, COM port 7. The problem is that it constantly resets, and so at times he appears in the "Device Manager" and loses again. When he somehow managed to stabilize the relationship with the PC, you probably could I make a flash ROM via IDT. The IDT recognizes it, even after it lost 3 seconds. Obviously not a hardware problem.
Thank you so much in advance

only hold green and red button(answer and disconnec button) and switch on the phone .the phone will restore factory setting without any bin or flash file .

Just buy another clone, OP. I dont think there's enough resource available (other than some xda china portal) to fix an HD2 knock off simply because they dont have the same hardware & software as official HTC ones.

SX56 update failure

Hi there,
I tried to run the ATT/Siemens release and it locked up. Per some advice I tried to use the tool provided here to burn the ROM from a SD card, but after I do this I just get a white screen, and my only options is to format the SD card if I insert it.
Is this a lost cause, has the PDA been damaged beyond repair?
Thanks for any help!

No, it is not. If your device still wants to talk to ActiveSync, you can just get Jeff's .exe file and run it on your PC. If it doesn't talk to ActiveSync, you need a PC SD-card reader/writer, which I think I understand you already have. Just find a ROM image you'd like to flash, either in .nbf format (as supplied with the upgrades) or in .nb1 (as saved by the XDArit tool) format, and follow the instructions on our page.
Good luck...
I tried your tool with the SX56 ROM and get the same results some other people posted here in the past: PDA boots up to a white screen and if you press or hold down the volume botton, the welcome screen partially comes up, but it's not functional.
Also I got ahold of one of your modified ROMs and tried to use that and got the exact results.

Hmmm, looks like a hardware problem at first glance...

Big problem

Hi
I am new here and i have problem
When i turn on my qtek9000, i recieve message Serial V.100.
If i connect USB cable it displays USB instead of Serial.
This happened when i tried to do radio upgrade (through usb hub, sim and sd were also in phone...).
I have 1gb SD card and also card reader mounted in laptop, so transfering files should not be problem.
Can someone help me with step-by-step procedure how to make my qtek work back. I used a lot of search but i am even more confused....
I just remember that when qtek worked Radio was something like 1.0.3.1 and also WWE was writen somewhere....
Probably i should put rom to sd with ntrw (which wersion of both),.......
please help....
might be a dumb question on my part - but have you tried a reset (initially a soft one but then a hard one of course, if nothing else works...) ???
I mean you will at least be able to revert back to the condition 'out of the package'...
Hope everything works out!
jup.both things NOT HELPED
looks like you're stuck in the bootloader mode....
try flashing the rom & the radio rom once again by connecting it to your laptop's usb...
i guess something screwed up while you were upgraging your radio rom...and you'd need to redo it!
Best,
San
can you please write me a procedure?
You might want to check the following thread. Everything is well described.

I have solved problem with Radio upgrade. I am in much better mood now. 8)
Anyway i have 4 more questions.
1.) I am using bluetooth car-instalation Parrot CK3100. I am wondering if is possible to transfer any other sound except telephone conversations to that device. When i had Nokia 9500 i was able to hear every single click,tone,...i made on phone also on car-instalation. I also heard nokia ringtone in car instalation. With qtek i am getting generic car-instalation ringing tone instead of phone ringing. Otherwise primary intention (hands free talking) works fine. I would like to have that to be able to hear voices from various GPS software.
2.) Since QTEK9000 is PDA and phone in single unit I would like to have in car GPS application "always on top". Like previously mentioned i can easily manage my calls with car-instalation. Therefore i would like to run Phone section in background or GPS applications on top.I hope you will understand what i would like to say
3.) I also need in-car holder for qtek. Do you have any reccomendations?
4.)
My settings:
R: 1.04.02
G: 42.37.P8
D: 1.13.64.WWE
Is that ok or should i upgrade?
Stuck in bootloader mode
Hi guys,
Got stuck in bootloader mode following an upgrade attempt. Tried to reflash radio using the files from the pload folder only to get an error saying it's for the wrong device - tried this several times with the same result.
any ideas?
Is there a binary and a tool I can just do a straight upload?
thanks

Thanks for your help - unfortunately I got the same message, ie this rom is not meant for this device etc...
Will see O2 can do anything (who's that laughing...???) - was going to buy a new xda mini anyway...!
1. REMOVE your SD/MMC card.
2. Soft/hard reset.
3. Run the upgarde again.
Step 1 above solved my problem.

SHIFT FAQ

Thanks to all of the original posters of all the solutions/answers found in this FAQ.
Since we have answered the same questions lots of times I made this little FAQ, that I will continue to update when needed. (remember search is still your friend)
RESTORE/RECOVER:
Q: How do I recover Vista, from the recovery partition ?
A: When booting vista press F3 (fn + 3) and follow instructions on screen. (ALL DATA WILL BE LOST)
Q: How do I hard reset the WM part if it gets corrupted ?
A: If you can still run apps. in WM run the clearstorage.exe, otherwise take a look of this thread (ALL DATA WILL BE LOST)
FEATURES:
Q: Can I install a full windows mobile instead of snapvue ?
A: Most of it is already there, it just needs to be unlocked, see this thread for info
Q: Can Shift make a phone call ?
A: No shift can't make a phone call out of the box, but there is a good chance that it will be able to using custom ROM's (you will need to hack your SHIFT to do it)
It is possible to use voice software client in vista to do it (Skype, VoIP client etc.)
Q: Will the shift output WM/snapwue on the VGA port ?
A: no when using she shift with an external monitor it outputs vista on the external monitor and wm on the internal, so no luck (i think it's a nice feature to work vith vista and wm at the same time)
HARDWARE:
Q: Can I upgrade the shift to 2GB RAM ?
A: We haven't found a microdimm with the correct connector yet (if you know any please provide info) more info here
Q: Can I upgrade the shift's hard drive ?
A: Yes but there isn’t a perfect solution yet, there is either a larger 5mm disk, that only gives 20GB more.
The other option is to go for a 8mm disk, but there are minor space issues.
For more info read this thread
Q: Can I use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SD card within snapvue or windows mobile ?
A: For the time being you can't access that hardware from the WM side, but again there is a good possibility, that a custom ROM will remove those limitations.
Q: Does the Shift have a GPS module ?
A: Yes the shift have a build in GPS chip, but since we don't have any drivers for it yet, we are not sure if antenna etc. are there. (on the prototype units it was working so there is a good chance it will work on production models to)
NOTE: After i opened up my shift i can confirm the GPS antenna is there !!
Q: Does the shift support the SDHC Memory Cards
A: Yes they are supported. (1 user had problems using Sandisk 8GB) I'm using a memory2go 16GB SDHC, and alot of users didn't have any problems.
Q: My USB CD drive doesn't work, what is wrong ?
A: The shift USB port doesn't have that much juice in it, so connect external power to the usbhub, using miniusb plug or put external power on the drive. more info here
Q: What is the native resolution on the display ?
A: Then native resolution is 800 x 480, but there is a quick button to "instant" switch to 1024 x 600, and it works quiet well.
SOFTWARE:
Q: Can I install windows XP on my Shift ?
A: you can, but allot of things won't work since HTC are unwilling to release drivers (they won't even release them for Vista)
The update is that some of the dedicated people on this forum have managed to put a driver suite together for Window XP look at this thread for more info.
Q: Can I remove the hidden Vista recovery partition to get more space on my drive ?
A: Yes ! if you know what you are doing, they are using HPA (Host Protected Area) to hide the vista recovery partition.
You can restore your HDD to its native maximum capacity in Linux using setmax
Q: Can I access WM from the Vista side ?
A: using the usbtool found in this thread
you are able to connect the WM side to Vista as it was a normal phone.
Q: Will Vista SP1 run on my shift ?
A: Yes, and your shift will perform better (some people have had some issues with the new Intel vga driver from windows update though)
and the "USBtool" disconnecting all the time.
Q: what is Origami, and is it any good ?
you can read about it here , and I think this quote from another thread says it well:
I played with Origami for 5 min, then disabled it. Haven't run it since. It seemed slow and clunky, and does nothing that Vista can't do better.
PS: The browser is pretty cool with it's touch functions.
Q: Can I rotate the screen in windows vista ?
A: No solution has been found yet !
Snapvue/WM:
Q: How do I get rid of the black areas in the sides after I have unlocked WM ?
A: You can't at the moment, the resolution is not supported by WM (again hopefully custom ROM's will do the trick)
Q: How do I turn WM/Snapvue off, so I don't loose any power when traveling etc. ?
A: The only way to turn WM/Snapvue off is to remove the battery for a short period of time and don't touch the power switch after, hopefully a way will be found soon.
Q: How do I dump/backup my original ROM
A: have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468622
Q: How do I liberate > hard spl > flash Rom
A: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=489007
Q: How do i change the keyboard layout
A: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Clio_Keyboard_Layout
MISCELLANEOUS:
Q: What can I do to speed up the process of making custom ROM's ?
A: You can donate to the shift project here, and help to test features/programs posted in the forum.
Great job! I vote for a sticky

SDHC Cards
My shift does not recognise an 8 GB SDHC card.
When I use it by means of a USB reader, the SDHC card is recognised.
Does the Shift really supports the SDHC format ?
I have a 16gb AData SDHC card, and it works fine with my Shift.
Regards,
Dave
I use a 16GB as well and have tested 4 & 8GB to, what brand is your card ?
Really nice post...
as Ive found this forum a short time ago Ive been using the search tool a lot... and know all the newcommers just have to read this thread...
Thanks..
It's a SanDisk 8 GB SDHC. It's recognised on my PC. Also in my MP3 and on my SHIFT when I use a USB reader. It's not recongnised via the internal card reader.
Thanks. Jos
WM & SD Card !!!
any hope for access SD from WM side ? i run out of memory and start to delete many things.....also the Mic not working in Snap VUe side , any way to fix it ??

This is not a discussion thread and the only meaningful post is actually the first one.
Wouldn't it make sense to lock this thread (disable new entries) only allowing pusler (and potentially forum admins) to edit and update the first post?
This might "help" some people to understand the meaning of FAQ

When you boot linux on the shift, you can see the HDD is using HPA (Host Protected Area) to hide the vista recovery partition:
Code:
hda: Host Protected Area detected.
current capacity is 71826615 sectors (36775 MB)
native capacity is 78126048 sectors (40000 MB)
hda: Host Protected Area disabled.
hda: 78126048 sectors (40000 MB), CHS=16383/255/63
You can restore your HDD to its native maximum capacity in Linux using setmax, although this is not recommended unless you _really_ know what you are doing

Now My Hima Has Been Bricked Theres No Rom To Be Reload.. And My Hima Cannot Sync With The Pc.. Im Doomed....
If you haven't even flashed your rom yet, there is absolutely no good reason why your device should be bricked. What is it currently doing at the moment?
What is showing on your XDAII's screen?
my xda ii just showing SERIAL and v 1.03.... ill have try to reboot again but theres nothing happen. the serial blinking but still in the bootloader mode. how can i cooked my device? my pc also didnt detect my hima...
It isn't bricked then, not even close. So don't worry about that yet
Simply plug it in to your computer with your cable, don't expect it to recognise what it is. And make sure you have ActiveSync turned off on your computer (if you have it installed which you may not).
Next, leave it a minute or two connected. Then, unzip the rom you downloaded somewhere on your computer, and then run the .exe in the unzipped folder. It may be called HimaUpgradeTool or something similar. It should eventually say it found your phone, and usually it has no idea what rom is currently installed. Then simply press the install button. It should show updating on your computer screen (it generally takes over an hour), and some fancy stuff may happen on your PDA screen.
Once it says it is completed (on your computer screen), unplug your device and Hard Reset using soft reset, Dpad, Camera and Record.
Select the options as follows: (for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
Your phone should reboot, and all will be well in world.
i think that i found what is my problem. i think that my usb cable is faulty because of my computer detect the usb then it shown unrecognised device. then i run the hima upgrade but it shows that there are no device attach. but my battery was heat like it was charging. ill try to change the cable first then ill try it again.
thanks all... my problem was being settle. now i know my problem is.. when i change the cradle i can upgrade my hima. thanks again.

[Q] Uninstall Windows 7???

First of all, I apologize if I'm in the wrong thread.
I recently flashed my HTC HD2 and upgraded it to Windows 7 from its factory-loaded Windows 6.5. Since then, I have not been able to do anything via web on it (Marketplace, Facebook, even set-up my personal email accounts). I've toggled my connection settings plenty of times, and nothing seems to work. It keeps asking me for my Windows Live ID, but when I enter it, nothing happens because there is no internet connection. (Don't know if this is important but in case this helps: I am not in a Wi-Fi zone.) Also, it won't read my sd card either, which has music, pictures, documents, etc. As a matter of fact, the only things that I can do is call in and out, and send and receive texts. I am not liking this version of Windows too much, and would like to know, step-by-step, what to do to uninstall it and return to my safe and familiar Windows 6.5 world.
When I upgraded from 6.5 to 7, I downloaded and used ActiveSync, and it worked fine. Now, while in Win 7, when I plug the phone into my computer, my ActiveSync won't identify it.
And by the way, I tried to hard reset it, thinking that would work, but it just reset it back to Windows 7.
I just want my Windows 6.5 back as soon as possible. Any information to get me back to that point would be greatly appreciated.

There are so many great tutorials here in the forums. If you would have carefully read some more than you obviously have, then you would have avoided some of the nasty problems you have with WP7.
Also, you wouldn´t ask about a "step-by-step" instruction on what to do now.
Unfortunately, some key information is missing here, therefore, the only link I can give you is this: Click me! You should know this one already, if not, read it item by item.
Then flash the ROM which fits your device. Do *not* flash before you know exactly which ROM you need. You might brick your phone.
Oh, and btw: Was the music on your SD card when you flashed with WP7? If yes, it´s no wonder your device cannot read it, the SD card is wiped clean during the first start.

Is this a shortcut? Kind of to avoid flashing back to WinMo 6.5 and keeping WP7? Because he maybe wiped the SD card clean?
Come on, he clearly asked how to flash another ROM, Zune cannot be the answer.
The information that you gave me is very helpful.
However, again, I'm at a standstill. I'm trying to download a stock rom, but I still need to find a way for my computer (Windows XP) to sync with my HTC HD2 (Windows Phone 7). ActiveSync won't read it, and my OS won't allow me to use WMDC!
(And just so you'll know, I didn't have my sd card installed in my phone when I flashed it.)

(And just so you'll know, I didn't have my sd card installed in my phone when I flashed it.)

..again you havent bothered to read anything.
You can stick the stock rom on your SD card and rename it "leoimg.nbh" and then power phone into bootloader by powering obn phone while holding volume down button. No need for activesync/usb or windows XP.
do you have t mobile network if you do just go to settings cellular and where it says 3g connection and hit apn settings and type in epc.tmobile.com and hit the check button at the bottom and you should be set. if you dont have t mobile just find out the network apn for your network.
...even if the phone doesn't read the sd card anymore since i uploaded win 7???
=.=
You've been lectured to go out and read some threads for info, and yet you still persist with these questions that could be answered if you searched...
Anyways on topic, you say your phone does not recognize the sd card? Well try formatting the sd card with panasonic formatter then. Then put the files for reverting back to stock rom onto the root of your sd card, and then boot your phone into bootloader mode, which is the tri color screen. After that, your phone should recognize the file and revert back to winmo.
I know I COULD look through threads (and that's what I've been doing), but I just want to cut to the chase without all that geek talk. (What's the point of having a website like this if one couldn't ask questions?) Plus, now I know who to thank if it works (and who to blame if it doesn't).
Thanks for all the help. I'll let you know what happens.
It's not about what you could do... It's about what you should do.
Anyways, whilst this forum may be about Q&A's, populating a Q&A with the same questions, and the same answers sounds stupid, no?
Well hope it works for you.

Hey Why are you even here then? YOU cant be bothered reading because of "geek" talk and all of a sudden its OTHER peoples fault if YOU break your phone?
If YOU don't want to read through threads that explain how to do these things as simply as possible already and actually LEARN somthing, Then why should someone retype those threads for you especially as you STILL wont understand it because it will contain the SAME terms and referances, and require YOU to STILL do some research, Just like EVERYBODY else here HAD TO DO. If you think there is some way to break the existing well explained threads down into BABY BABBLE that FOOLS who go rushing in with no clue might understand, then you are sadly mistaken. Cut your losses and buy either a dumbphone or an iphone. They are made for people like you. Just dont try jailbreaking, thats probrobly tooo complicated for you as well.
Oh and way to go insult the very people you are asking for help. dumbass.
Thanks to all those who actually helped.
Here's what I've been able to do thus far:
1.) Reformat SD card to FAT32 allocation
2.) Found and downloaded stock rom
3.) Extracted "RUU_signed.nbh" from there
4.) Transferred it to SD card (base folder)
5.) Renamed it "leoimg.nbh"
6.) Inserted SD card into phone
7.) Turned phone on into bootloader mode (tri-color)
8.) Nothing happens
I've dowloaded several versions of stock roms and tried each one, but none has worked yet. I've even renamed it using all caps ("LEOIMG.nbh") thinking that that MIGHT make a difference...it didn't.
Anyway, did I mess up somewhere? Is there something else that I'm missing?
Help!
Other information that might help:
This is what appears on my bootloader screen:
PB81120 HX-B3
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x50
Trying to uninstall Windows 7 and reload Windows 6.5, which is what I started out with on my phone.
Thanks!!!

If you have looked around you wouldn't need that much help, there is many threads about this already, And this whole "geek talk" is nothing but common sense buddy. If you can't figure out how to flash back and people have pointed you in the right direction, then you should never flash again and stick with wm6.5
Steps...Try This

I understand, where he is coming from, not everyone coming to this site are geeks/devs(am myself a dev) and can easily get confused with all the forums...
I understand your problems are may be unique, so here are the steps you can try and hopefully these wotk for you..
**Read the steps completely and keep the files ready before
starting this process to save time later..
1. Go into bootloader (tri color screen)..should say 'Serial' in the middle of the screen.
2. Pause/stop your PC antivirus
3. Next connect your phone with USB to your computer, the screen should now say USB instead of Serial
4. Now run Task29*
5. Turn off your phone(by taking the battery out) and turn it back again and go into bootloader mode
6. Install the latest official HTC HD2 Win6.5 Rom*(2.15.50.14 or something)..NOTE: Just the rom which you can get from threads here in XDa forums, not the whole OS.
7. Format your SD card(panasonic formatter), use setting low level (with delete), this will take around 5-10 mins depending on your sd card mem size.
8. Now get the latest official Win 6.5 ROm from HTC and install it using the SD card method as mentioned before.
(Note, please read some posts to find out how to do this correctly)
The above should work , for the most cases.
Let me know, if it helps you or not.
Hi,
I read all the thread on how to remove windows 7 on HTC HD2, but when I hold the volume button down and press the power key, I see the bootloader screen, but then the "loading" page never comes. I tried it several times. And I also revive my SD card before doing that. Now my phone doesn't even have any more memory. SO I can text, can't add music. When I connect my phone through the USB cable, the PC doesn't open Zune windows. So it doesn't recognize the presence of the phone.
Do you know what is wrong? Thank you for any idea on that.
Anyone having similar issues try these for starters:

This is why your phone does not work. I flashed to WP7 from stock TMoUS WinMo and have not had any problems since. You have to read and understand what this geek talk means before you start screwing with your phone. I didn't know any either but I learned it thanks to all the tutorials and FAQs here at XDA. You can't do a heart transplant without learning anatomy first.

it connects to routers fine, but unless you have the hidden wifi network app you cant connect to hidden networks, i suggest you try lowering the security settings on the router (disconnect your PC if you must) and try again, if it connects to an open network then you just need to make sure the settings are correct for WPA
its also worth noting that wifi not working at all, ie it doesnt see any networks is a typical sign of an SD card issue
thnx for the reply
