Free Online Storage - The List - EVO 4G General

Free online storage list. Add to it if you can please.
I did a little research and found out that DropBox is not the only free online backup solution that can be used for your EVO. I have been trying them out and some seem really amazing and so I wanted to share.
I would put links to them all but you can easily find them by searching on google and I don't know how the MODS would feel about all the outside links.
Although Dropbox seems to have the most fans, I am trying SugarSync because of the instant 5GB storage. Sign up on the SugarSync.com website or click my link below to get a bonus 500MB
Here is the list I created. Feel free to add to it.
Dropbox 2GB
SugarSync 5GB <-----My favorite by far...
ZumboDrive 2GB
Memopal 3GB
Spideroak 2Gb
Syncplicity 5GB
Dmailer 2GB
IDriveSync 2GB
Box.net 5GB -->thanks @eelmonger
Microsoft SkyDrive + Sorami (app)- 25gb --> thanks @michaelvibe & jobryan26
Adrive 50GB ---> thanks @michaelvibe
Attention MODS... If I can get an official go ahead from you I will put links (not referrals) to these free resources. I will also do mini reviews on each because some are obviously better than others. The best ones out there such as Dropbox and Sugarsync (IMO) are "the best" because they offer an apps for your phone and computer (MAC or PC).

Dropbox has always been my favorite, they treat their users like kings, seriously. They offer free space all the time, usually for no reason.
Last time someone made a topic about Dropbox everyone started posting their referral links and everyone got a good chunk of space for free. Let's get that ball rolling, yeah?
Dropbox!

Not just about Dropbox
I appreciate your response. But I did not want this to be a list of where people posted their referral links to Dropbox. Thats cool and all... I have a referral link which has never been used and would love for people to use it but I was hoping more of creating a list of Dropbox like services.
Obviously people will post what they want, but maybe you could start another post about Dropbox specific and see if you can get it started? Cool?
I don't want to be a hypocrite because I did put my SugarSync referral link up there.
p.s- I would like to make a nice resource for everyone looking for free online storage. Does anyone know if the mods would mind if I put links (not my referral links), but just simple links to each free service so people to access easily?

I love Dropbox, but when I started filling that up, I found Box.net which gives you 5 free gigs, but has some limits on filesizes and such.

thanks @eelmonger
I added box.net to the list!
Keep them coming!

Microsoft SkyDrive - 25gb
Ridiculous amount of free space. Haven't used them in a long time though.

Yep, been using these guys for 3 years now. No issues. They do not offer SSL encryption on the free accounts though or FTP access. Also, keep in mind that they have 2 free accounts: one which is 50 GB completely free and another one which has also 50GB but has a 14 day trial. Make sure you choose the right account on creation.
Once inside all file transfers are handled through a java interface.

I have been using Dropbox for about a month and it is amazing. Keeps all of my things in sync between my Laptop, Netbook, EVO, and iPod Touch. 2GB is more than enough for me and it is so simple to use.
Thanks for the list of other places, I might be curious to try other services though to see what else is out there.

Dropbox vs. Sugarsync
http://www.groovypost.com/howto/review/sugarsync-vs-dropbox-alternative-you-never-asked-for/
Here are 3 more cloud storage services:
MobileMe
Carbonite
Mozy
I use Dropbox btw. New to cloud storage services, and it was the first I came across via a referral on xda. I haven't tried others, but am happy with Dropbox.

This thread is spam. The only link in the op is a referral link to benefit the thread author.

@Biker1
@Biker1 - Thanks for the resources but I checked them out and as far as I could tell they were not free. Please correct me if I am wrong. Nice link to compare Dropbox with Sugarsync!
@indagroove - This thread is not spam. Your post is not helpful. I check this thread daily and will continue to add free resources as I find them or when people post them. I OBVIOUSLY put my link to Sugarsync. Plus I OBVIOUSLY mentioned I have Dropbox which I did not put a referral link to. I said Sugarsync was my favorite and I thought others would like it and using the referral link will give you an extra 500mg storage... and duh, I get a bonus too but thats not the point. I will gladly put links directly to these free resources if I get an okay from the mod. Not referral links, just plain links. BTW, why not have referral links to give extra storage to someone trying them out? It's a thought worth thinking through.
Notice the little yellow star under my profile? (you have some too so I think you understand). Want to know how many times I have donated to various developers? I am not here to cause problems dude so please chill out. I am here to learn and share. I realize I flipped out a bit here on my response. I dont like accusations. A question directed at me would have been a better way I think.

You posted your own referral link, and directed others not to. I think that's wrong, and hypocritical.
I'm all for referrals, so just be clear about what you are doing, and make it a referral thread.

just signed up for Adrive! thanks for the tip. ...is there an android version floating around or do i just have to use a browser and sign in via web??

@adeyo- How do you like Adrive?
Thanks Adeyo. I don't know anything about Adrive. Tell us what you think about it when you get a chance.

In all honesty, I don't care if people post referral links. ALL I was saying to the OP was that I don't want the thread to be ONLY about referral links. I really want to make a nice list of free online storage for us.
I have seen those threads that are just about referrals. One hundred referral links to dropbox gets old and cluttered.
I have a thought. Maybe on a first come basis then as a "reward" for finding cool free online storage each user can post ONE referral link to the resource they found. That way anyone wanting to sign up for that service gets off to a nice start.
BTW- I just started this thread, I don't control it. Do what you want. But don't go claiming this thread is spam because its not.

[CHEFS PLEASE READ] Alternative sites for our rom storage!

Right now, most chefs are using Rapidshare to store their roms. If they want to continue doing so to earn points, that's fine. However, it makes downloading roms extremely difficult for people who are in countries in which Rapidshare restricts access. Rapdishare also uses a very advanced CAPTCHA for non-members that takes 2 or 3 tries (with 120 second delays in between each attemt) to solve. Try logging out of your rapidshare account to see what I'm talking about..
If you'd like to give your downloaders the fastest access possible to your roms, I have put together a list of sites that are superior to existing methods. The sites below had to pass a series of tests:
For uploading:
At least 100mb file limit
No account or sign up needed.
Truly 1-click: Arrive at the site, click upload file, thats it.
For downloading:
No account or sign up needed
No captcha codes
no timers or waiting period
No country or regional restrictions for downloading
truly 1-click: download instantly starts with one click.
http://www.filedropper.com - 5gb (Best site IMO. Most usuable, largest file size limit, tenured... not a "fly by night" file storage service)
http://www.mediafire.com - 100mb
http://www.filesend.net - 120mb
http://www.snapdrive.net - 500mb
http://www.Sendspace.com - 300mb
http://sharedzilla.com - 1GB
http://www.badongo.com - 1GB
CONCLUSION:
Filedropper.com by a mile. However, even though all 7 of these sites are awesome, they are all free which means none of them (even filedropper) are guaranteed to last. If we want to ensure availability for our uploads WE ALL NEED TO BE USING ASAPLOAD.COM for our rom uploads. It provides 1-CLICK UPLOADS TO 8 MAJOR FREE FILE STORAGE SITES AT ONCE, 3 of which are mentioned above! (See next paragraph for Complete list)
*IMPORTANT NOTE FOR UPLOADERS!*When uploading, you can only choose 4 of the 8 available hosting sites. BE SURE THAT YOU CHOOSE BODONGO, SHAREDZILLA, AND SENDSPACE! The fourth mirror is up to you since the rest of them all have annoying timers. Your uploaded file is given a single link, and from that link users can choose which of the 4 download sites they would like to download from. Here is an example link http://asapload.com/110261 (the photo is of my and my gf if you were wondering). The other nice thing is that it gives you the download link as soon as the file transfer begins, so you can post the link as it is uploading.
ASAPLOAD.com uploads to:
Badongo.com (1.00 Gb) awesome
Sendspace.com (300.00 Mb) awesome
Sharedzilla.com (1.00 Gb) awesome
Depositfiles.com (300.00 Mb, 60 sec download delay)
Easy-share.com (100.00 Mb, 20 sec download delay, captcha)
Megaupload.com (100.00 Mb, pain in the butt)
Rapidshare.com (100.00 Mb, pain in the butt)
Zshare.net (100.00 Mb, 60 sec download delay)
Look, even if you don't use ASAPLOAD.COM, just uploading with any one of the sites i mentioned at the top of the post will help everyone else out by sparing them that awful 120 second timer and by giving users in other countries hassle free access.
Honorable Mentions:
http://www.uploadcomet.com - 2,000mb filesize limit but 30 second delay timer before download
http://www.rarhost.com - 250mb limit specifically for hosting rar files, including split archives. Displays contents of archive online. Unlimited split rar files.

Nice post, and I agree with Famewolf that you should put this up in the top of the forums (not Kaiser specific).
I also agree with I don't understand why some people continue to use RapidShare and Megaupload when they are such a pain for so many people.
2 others I would suggest (They do require an account for uploading so fail that criteria that you set) is:
www.2shared.com
www.4shared.com
I really like 4shared and how you can do the folders and have a private and public areas all in the same account. Also like how 4shared lets you setup a subdomain easily to access your folders.
I'll have to give asapload.com a whirl. I used to use Sendspace a lot but some people complained about it (and the files will disappear after 30 days if nobody downloads it), but cool that this asapload.com using it and others.
Thanks for this info!
For example...sendspace is already error'ing out on your example pic...

i figured sendspace had recently changed an upload protocol or something so I assumed that in the next day or two asapload.com would have it corrected. either way, 3 other working mirrors is still better than 1, right! i will post this to the main xda forum. Thanks for giving me the credit famewolf!
I like drop.io myself, 100mb free and atleast for what Ive been using it for is quick.

Hmmm... Never bothered me. Of course I am a premium member & don't mind paying for things that work. But some people think apps should be okay as warez too.
Most people that use RS or Mega, use it because they have premium accts there & truly, I can't remember the last time either of those two were down.
BTW, you missed Filedropper.
http://www.filedropper.com/ - 5GB Limit
Nice list. Sticky would be good. Having to get premium status when there are WAY better alternatives for free is just plain stupid.
If someone provides something as a legit service for free, that has nothing to do with warez. That is a rediculous comparison. Do you use a paid email a account because Gmail's multi-gigabyte free service is like warez?
GSLEON3, its just that not everyone on this board has a paid account. In fact, most don't. I think giving people alternatives that work just as well and don't require money is going to be met with less resistance than getting an entire forum to start paying for a service.
Free, no signups, increased file size limits for non members, no captchas, and no time delays on the downloads.... why play devil's advocate to that, man? Just trying to help the entire community out at large.
I love filedropper, but I left it off because at the time of writing they weren't accepting any new uploads... wasn't sure what was going on. I'll edit my first post now!
Thanks for sharing the list of hosting sites.
Btw, cute gf

Not to mention, I really don't think roms will be pushing the GB limit any time this decade. I could be wrong though!! Good info on Adrive for other needs like HDD backup, though. Thanks.
We should have moved to torrents a long time ago. Encouraging seeding and leeching wont be a problem for serial ROM flashers. If your download times out youre screwed, especially on RapidShare. I dont use download accelerators anymore.
Rapidshare & MegaUpload are the worse and sendspace downloads SLOW most of the time. Whenever I upload, I go MediaFire all the way.

A FREE FileHost for THE Community

Hi Peeps,
We all want to get our downloads as easy as possible!
We all want to upload our roms, builds, Apps, cabs and fixes as easy as possible!
But not all filehosters are easy or free.
I'm gonna try and help all of us.
I setup a domain for all to use for FREE, up to 300MB per file.
When your files don't get downloaded, they will be deleted after 30 day from last download.
If you want to support this project you can get a Premium account, and you will get up to 500MB per file, and files will not be deleted, like the free account.
I would like to know from the WinMo Chefs, Android Builders & App Creators what they think of it, and if they will use it?
Feel free to check it out @ www.bytefiles.com

Spam plus trolling this equals a double ban but the idea is good, but it's not really an alternative it has the same functions and less feature I would just use multiupload or mediafire they are the best so far when it comes to features and funticionality.
Just use multiupload will be easier.

Let's hope the idea is goog enough to not double ban me
And most roms and builds are not larger then 300MB, so it's free if they want it.
And the download will only be deleted if it's not downloaded.
Only more options if you want to support me!
Tnx for voting people! ! !

A great service to store your data

Hi All,
Not very on topic, but want share it with you all. Get 15GB space from Copy. After login when you have installed the application you get 5GB extra. A very good cloud service, I love it... was a user of Dropbox many years, but this is better.

Copy - 15 + 5gig Cloud Storage

Hey guys, I don't know if you have heard about this particular cloud storage, but It's really good.
It has 15 gigabytes free, + 5 if you register with any referral code, giving you a whoppin 20gigs.
It also has this nice fair storage feature, it works this way: If three people are in a 12gig shared folder, you will only use 4 gigs of your own storage. It's like splitting the paycheck.

binaryfalcon, in my opinion there are better options:
Google gives you just ~15 GB, but it's integrated with the other services and has a good sync API.
Mega gives you 50GB and promises to give a full sync API & more in the near future.
Cheers!

lol, if you don't mind sticking to browser for access, Tencent gives you 10TB (yes, not 10GB, but 10"TB") for free. I haven't uploaded 10TB worth of stuff yet so I don't know how well it works, and I don't know how they'll treat the data you upload, but judging from their well known, good, reputation, I'm guessing they're pretty trustworthy.

Dropbox alternative, in my opinion it's better [Copy.com]

Hello everyone! I wanted to share what I've found. First let me express my newly found hate for Dropbox. I have about 100gb space on Dropbox and I thought "How cool if I could just backup my pictures and documents to dropbox and have it reflected on EVERY computer I own!" So I did that. BIG mistake. Having 50,000+ files made it reindex frequently and bogged down my computer multiple times a day for 5 minutes or so (sometimes more). Huge pain.
I set out and tried out A TON of different services that offered very good pricing and similar functionality.
I found my #1!
The company is called Copy.com, from what I read they're supposedly very good.
Here's the awesome news. They START with 15gb free data. Here's my referral:
Moderator Edit Link Removed
It gets another 5gb for you (and me)... So 20gb free to start.
For EVERY person you get to sign up under your own referral, you get another 5gb. I think it's a great idea! They want to get their name out there. hehe. At the moment they say there is no limit to the number of people you can invite. I saw some guy has 600gb+ right now. Crazy, huh? They also say it's for life.
Now, I know you can sign up without my referral (you'd get less space) but if you do sign up, I'd appreciate it if you clicked that link to get me some extra space as well.
On to my personal opinion about the service:
I like the space, that's for sure.
It's also a fairly stable app. I haven't had any crashes or anything like that.
The company offers 30 versions of your document / file. I think this is a MUST. I don't know how many times I feel like something has gone wrong and I wanted to go back to another version.
Speed? Well... I have a 105mb down and 11.5mb upload speed. My upload speed uses about half, while my download isn't an issue at all. I wrote them to see why I'm uploading so slowly. But uploading at 500kb/sec isn't that bad.
The mobile app is actually really good! It's really easy to use
Here's a big one: FAIR STORAGE! Finally! Something Dropbox doesn't understand :-\... If I share a folder that has 10GB and I share it with another person, just one other person, it wouldn't take 10 of my GB and 10 of the other person's. It would take 5 from me and 5 from the other person! If it's between 3..., well... 10/3= 3.33GB each! THANKS! Finally! Dropbox would take your 10 plus another persons 10. So 10GB of files would be 20gb with 1 other person. Shared with 10 people, it would be 100gb!!! Not 10! Arg.
I think it makes a great companion for my Note 2 because all my pictures are synced up there and they load REALLY fast! (not like my Skydrive account, REALLY slow at loading, and lack of versioning for anything other than documents). You can also share files publicly very easily as well.
So give it a try! I think it's worth it. I've already moved the majority of my files off of Dropbox and my CPU is thanking me from all the reindexing.
This is why referral threads are prohibited.
