[MOD][Theme]**update** Circular Battery Mod with % for Void/Devoid Y/E - NO FCs! - Optimus One, P500, V Themes and Apps

Circular Battery MOD for Devoid/Void-Y/ECHO
First of all this is not a theme, but a MOD, this is based on GreenDevDroid Ultimate theme for Optimus 1 by giveme13's
Big THANKS and credits goes to:
bestdaniel20 - for making theming possbile for void/devoid
giveme13's for his Ported GreenDevUltimate theme
Ultimate Online Kitchen (for the icons)
I particularly like circular battery with percentages and charging animations, and there are already a lot of themes out there that makes this possible, (see Themes thread) however, i want my status bar to retain the look and feel of the original ROM by Noejn. (i just want the circle battery!)
Managed to achieve this by using a working Theme file as the base (greendevdroid)
Just sharing how i got this far after a lot of poking and reading:

if you do not know what the heck is adb, DONT DO THIS!
if you are clueless on what is happening on the next steps DONT DO THIS!
Here is the mod:
Create a 1st Backup (this is the void/orig backup)
backup current framework-res.apk and lg-res.apk
via adb with usb debugging:
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb pull /system/framework/lge-res.apk
copy and save it somewhere.
Install Ported GreenDevUltimate theme for void
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11289094&postcount=995
++this is done via recovery, toggle signature verify and flash. reboot
After install:
Create a 2nd Backup (this is the GDD backup)
Code:
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb pull /system/framework/lge-res.apk
copy and save it somewhere.
If you like the theme don't do the next items : ^___^
Replace framework-res.apk and lge-res.apk
this is my working copy of framework res, merged with devoid-original and GDD
DL - see attachment - framework-res.apk (devoid-y)
DL - see attachment- lge-res.apk or use your own from backup step1
Replacing the framework:
reboot via recovery
go to mounts -> Mount /system
via adb (adb push your desired framework-res.apk):
Code:
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
adb push lge-res.apk /system/framework/
Reboot and hopefully you'll get the same screenshots as mine.
All the frameworks extracted is interchangeable just replace your current framework from backup.
Additional MODS:
Black Ops Green Numbers Battery
DL Attachment: BlackOps-GreenNumBatt.7z
DL Attachment : BlackOPS-Green-Circle-Solid-Colors.7z
Again,
use at your own risk, i am not a coder or a skilled themer, im just posting what worked for me, big thanks to the guys that made it happen @ P500 Android Void thread.
Tested on devoid-y should and if somebody get to test it on echo, ill update the post.
Edit: working on echo, thanks alejoparry
Here is a batch script for framework-res utility by Chris3D @ androidcentral, should come in handy, it uses apktool as the base, very useful check it out:
Code:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/verizon-fascinate-rooting-roms-hacks/45526-framework-res-apk-utility.html
Cheers and Enjoy!

awesome.now if someone could make a flashable zip so we don't mess with adb...
anyway it works fine.you can get a standalone copy of adb here
thx zxhian

Thank you very much, worked flawlessly for me with Void Echo

Im not good in working with adb stuff. Can any1 upload it in zip files for easy flash it ?

need to flash first GDD or any other theme to make the framework of void compatible to any customizations, void uses a different folder structure and coding.
flashing the workable theme (GDD) eliminates any fc's on bootup.
the backups are there for their purpose.

I made it. Thanksss a lot! What about the date on status bar? I need a small date on status bar as it is in your picture. If it is out of the topic, send me PM plssss.
Many thanks again

I tried this mod ... I was getting loads of sdcard unmount issue. I have a class 4 card. I then reinstalled void # e, and things are fine now.

Just so it's clear to me:
Replace framework-res.apk and lge-res.apk

DL - see attachment - framework-res.apk (devoid-y)
DL - see attachment- lge-res.apk or use your own from backup step1
I'm running void #echo, but I should still download the 7z file, replace framework-res.apk (which was merged with devoid) and push using adb. Correct?
Thanks for your time and effort!

zxhian, u made my day man! I love it!!

need to extract the 7z file first and merge the framework, assuming you have installed GDD first.

Awesome, thanks so much! Loving the new battery icon, it was the only thing missing from void ROM.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

pushing these files to void echo lost my phone contacts.. how did that happened?

so can someone make this a zip that i can flash for my void delta? thank you! :]

Heya mate
Sry n00by question, but could you specify what to do with your zip? There're three folders and I'm clueless on a sunday night...
Cheers

Nice mod
I'm using void #delta and how can I apply the green circular battery in the 1st picture without having to install the GreenDev theme?

hi zxhian, many thanks for the great tutorial
I also like the void standard themes but I want the powermenu and circular battery.
I edited your framework, replaced the status bar icon set (but I leave the circular battery as it is) with MIUI-style icon set from UOT kitchen, and used the ginger themed notification button (lge-res.apk) by ahmadfarisfs instead of yours... I also add the flip animation to the framework (also from UOT)
now my void really looks like what I want and it's all thanks to you

Possibly a stupid question inbound...
what happens if i flash this to the stock LG rom?

[Q]How Do You Install Custom Android THEMES

XDA,
Just wanted to know how can I, we add themes to our Android builds. For example, this UltraLinx Desire Theme Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=736987
I currently have Metamorph, but nothing is working for me. Just wanted to know if anyone is able to add custom themes and how.
misleading title, you shouldve put [Q] instead of [How-to]
but i belive i read that Metamorph does not work on the HD2.

Wrong. Metamorph works for me, but check for each theme their compatibility.
For example, the metamorph theme often need for modding the toolbar, that you have cyanogen (shubcraft hd2 roms for example)
Changing battery icon often didn't need anything special and should work.
For exemple on my shubcraft build :
{

It can be tricky to know what works and doesnt on our distro, so always make a complete titanium backup before, in case your system doesnt boot anymore.

Change the title if you want more people to help you... I thought this was a how to...
I will be posting a how-to on my site soon...
In the meantime, for system themes: simply replace the the drawable-hdpi in framework-res.apk/res with the one from the theme you want. use adb push to put back into the phone.
On my build, since there's no recovery mode where we can safely change system files in use, I had to reset my email accounts and wallpaper settings after this...
no biggie...

Thanks fellaz
metamorph does work
I use the donator version and was able to successfully use the zen theme and a few more themes
however, I have been receiving issues with installing others (eg nextTang for example)
What I've been doing/done that hasn't worked is
I create a file in the root directory of my storage card, make the system folder and copy the theme files to the system (eg app, lib, res)
but my android gets a reboot sequence. It never boots after I apply the theme
I should clarify this is on shub 1.4b cm6 rc3 I tried that method
I also tried editing the htcupdate_leo.tar.gz in which the system file is in (copying the files from there) but I can't boot afterward. The boot splash reloops
any help is super appreciated
edit pongster where in the heck is your site????
Been tryingt to change the ugly stock sense theme all day without luck.
Tried metamorph even the pro version, then to replace files in root framework also creating framework folder in android build folder but nada, the phone will not boot after these tries. Kinda getting the feeling im not getting the right themes. Using darkstones latest.
Any links and howtos on successful theme installs?

with darkstones ROM's and builds you will need to delete the .odex file and the file you are about to push over before you can get it to work right. so in short the steps needed would be.
edit your theme to your liking
adb shell rm -r nameoforiginalfilestillonphone.apk /location/of/file
adb shell rm -r nameoforiginalfilestillonphone.odex /location/of/file
adb shell push nameoffileyouthemed.apk /location/you/deleted/from
adb shell reboot
this should work, but dont blame me if it doesnt.
i take no responsibility. this is simply what works for me when working with builds that have not yet been de-odexed
framework-res.apk does not seem to have a matching odex file. All the jar files have it but not apk.
ill give it a shot anyway.
no luck...
did however find out that placing the framework-res.apk on storage/android/root/system/framework does load it upon boot (saved my last crashed build by placing the original framework-res.apk there).
however have tried several framework-res.apk files from different themes... all of them crash my froyostone buid at the moment....sux :-(

Pushing files via adb (No need anymore )
1-Download Android SDK from here .
2-Extract it and copy it's files and folders(which are add-ons, platforms..) into 'c:/adb' folder you can create. Run Setup and install Android SDK.
3-Download FigureTheme and copy(or drag and drop) all apk's into 'c:/adb/tools' (without any folder)
4-Open cmd(start menu, write cmd for search) and copy/paste lines which I give you with release (write at Changelog)
5-When it's done, press enter for reboot. You're ready
Status bar not my cup of tea but i still like the whole idea.

I don't know how to do that completely. I'm signing apk files and zip file but it fails because of signature.
But pushing file with adb is very easy too. If you have Android SDK copy it's folders(which are add-ons, platforms, samples...) into ''c:/adb''. Open your phone into recovery, mount system and plug USB. Copy files you downloaded into adb/tools. Open cmd and write these and press enter respectively.
cd c:/adb/tools
adb devices
adb push aaaaaa.aaa /bbbbb/cccc
adb reboot
Example for line 3: adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework
That's all
v0.2.3 is released.

Really good idea. I have some suggestions:
1. Kindly put this instruction in your first post so that users know what & how to install it. Give more detail instrucitons if possible.
2. Do I have to push all .apk file in this RAR file one by one? After each push needs reboot or push all of them once, then reboot?
Keep up your good work!!!

Yes, you do. You need to reboot once after push all files. To make it easier for you I've just write them. Download rar file and drag and drop apk's into adb/tools. And copy/paste that below(all of it) when it's done press enter to rebbot
cd c:/adb/tools
adb devices
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework
adb push browser.apk /system/app
adb push AccountAndSyncSettings.apk /system/app

adb reboot

Yet another theme ported to our phone.
Credits to steve_t, creator of this theme. See his thread here.
I checked this theme on Void#echo, LOL v1.2, and Megatron v.1 ROMs.
EDIT:
It is confirmed that this theme works on Void#echo, Void#delta, Devoid ypsilon, LOL v1.2, and Megatron v.1 ROMs.
It is reported that this theme works on Ubuntdroid 4, Optimus T P509
WARNING:
Partially working on OptimusX (FC on Market); see this post
Not working on Darkmoon v.2 and LOL v.1.4
For other ROMs, give it a try and tell us the result (i.e, working OK or not) so that others using same ROM with you will be assured whether to use this theme or not.

Changing window animation
In case you want to change window animation, you can do it yourself. Try these steps: (as usual, do nand backup first before flashing)
Get xmlsForWindowAnimations.zip here
Extract it to your PC, there will be 5 new directories extracted.
On your PC, copy GalaxySThemeForO1.zip to a file, say you name it 'temp.zip'
Open temp.zip (just open, not extract). I use 7-zip here.
Navigate to directory 'system\framework', double click framework-res.apk, Continue navigating to directory 'res\anim'
Drag-drop all files in one directory (choose 1 directory among 5 extracted directories you got from xmlsForWindowAnimations.zip) into 'res\anim' directory
Close 7-zip, answer 'Yes' when asked whether to update framework-res.apk
If you know how to sign a zip file, do so, copy signed file to sd card and flash it.
Otherwise, copy temp.zip to sd card, reboot to recovery, choose 'Other' then 'Toggle Signature Verify', go back to main menu and flash 'temp.zip'
Reboot
I can't see the screenshot, is it dead link?

Can you see it now?
no probs with screenshots
works on void delta too.
Thanks for your info.
the icons in notification bar is in white colour like lol rom, not blue
im using void delta.
Those white icons belong to 3rd party apps?
If so, am afraid that we have to modify those 3rd party apps
If you think that is not the case, could you upload a screenshot?
Thanks

Hi,
This is a lock-screen mod for CM7.
This mod is based on work of bizdady.
Instruction:
Download and install Metamorph
Download attached zip file, save to sdcard in directory '/sdcard/AndroidThemes' (metamorph will create this directory; or you can create it yourself)
Run Metamorph and select "Unzip/Extract new theme", you need to allow superuser permission
Select RotiMaduLockMDPI.zip
It will extract theme, close and give an error message about theme control of some sort. Just ignore that and proceed to reopen Metamorph.
Select 'Pick existing theme', browse the RotiMaduLockMDPI directory and select RotiMaduLock.xml.

Icons for Power Menu + Modified Lense Lock
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for anything bad happened to your phone after you install this lock-screen plus power menu mod
Install this mod at your own risk!!!
Don't forget to nand backup your phone before installing this mod.
In addition to mod on post #1, lense lock screen and icons on power menu are modified.
Download and install Metamorph
Download attached zip file, save to sdcard in directory '/sdcard/AndroidThemes' (metamorph will create this directory; or you can create it yourself)
Run Metamorph and select "Unzip/Extract new theme", you need to allow superuser permission
Select RotiMaduLock+PowerMDPI.zip
It will extract theme, close and give an error message about theme control of some sort. Just ignore that and proceed to reopen Metamorph.
Select 'Pick existing theme', browse the RotiMaduLock+PowerMDPI and RotiMaduLockPlusPowerMDPI directory, then select RotiMaduLockPlusPower.xml.
Close the prompt and Apply all. The phone will reboot
Note:
Your phone may reboot several times
If your phone doesn't reboot, take battery out, put it back, and power on
Ignore transparent notification bar and circular battery icon please. They are part of my modification to haxzamatic's theme and not included in zip file.
Note: different from what is seen on screenshot, on phone, blue shadow of icons is not too visible
Reserved for later update
Awsome....
but you do realize that mik's cm7 is in b3.1 stage and in your signature it is written b2
so will it work in b3.1 ...?
Forgot to update my signature.
Actually I was using mik's cm7 beta 3 when this mod is created.
I am now updating my phone to mik's cm7 beta 3.1.
.... will report if the mod works on cm7 beta 3.1 or not....
EDIT:
Confirmed myself that both mods (mod on post #1 & #2) work on mik's cm7 beta 3.1
is that circular battery part of this mod ?
tks
No, sorry.
Will it work with void?
I don't think so
Is there any possible way I can have this lockscreen mod and honeycomb circ btry mod on galaxy theme runnig on void
I just looked into 'framework-res.apk' of void #echo ROM.
Yes, you can modify contents of the zip file to run on void.
I think you don't need metamorph to modify lock-screen of void ROM.
The reason of using metamorph to change the look of lock-screen here is because T-mobile theme engine (theme chooser) of CM7 can't be used to modify lock-screen.
Apology if I'm wrong.
For circular battery icons, you can use UOT or the zip file I attached here.
Just flash the zip?
No, circbatt.zip only contains battery icons and not flashable. sorry.
But you can use those icons when compiling framework-res.apk.
.... wish I am still using void #echo rom ...

Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen for Samsung Galaxy S II tutorial

I was using HTC devices for some time and using the ultimate online theme kitchen with it. It seems that this kitchen also works with touchwiz UI roms. Some people in the custom ROMs section sounded surprised so I figure I would post this tutorial
MAKE A BACKUP VIA CWM PRIOR TO FLASHING ANYTHING
Download the ROM you want to MOD and extract all the files somewhere on your computer maybe a new folder or something
Then via your computer goto
http://uot.dakra.lt/
Select File upload and then system files as seen by the screenshot below. You will need to upload the following
framework-res.apk (in the folder with the extracted files from the ROM should be under \system\framework)
SystemUI.apk (in the folder with the extracted files from the ROM should be under \system\app)
twframework-res.apk (in the folder with the extracted files from the ROM should be under \system\framework)
IF USING AN ICS ROM SELECT FLASHABLE ZIP AND CHANGE IT TO EMMC (I have only tested battery mod)

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
One the files are finished uploading select from the available MODs (I HAVE ONLY TESTED THE FONT,BATTERY and WINDOW (animations) MODs ON GINGERBREAD NOT THE REST SO TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK)
• Battery
• Icons
• Status bar
• Popup
• Lockscreen
• Window
• Fonts
• Bootanimation
And select use this MOD as seen below.
Select what you want and once done select Summary and make sure all the mods show in green. If not most likely you forgot something. Once done click Submit work to kitchen as per screenshot
Once selected you will be given an Order number like UOT-08-31-21-07-1 or something. Write this down as it can take a while for the file to be made.
Once in a while you can go back to
http://uot.dakra.lt/pickup/
To see if your file is ready. If your browser cached the info it should show your file when ready under
Your recently cooked files
If your browser didn’t cache the info then you can select
Show all pickup files
And simply look for your Order number.
Once your file is ready simply download it (I suggest re-naming it as well to something you may recognize) and put it on the Internal SD of your Samsung.
Boot in recovery and make sure to wipe cache and dalvik-cache prior to flashing it
Hope this helps some people
UOT kitchen is great.
The only thing that wont work on the SGS2 is the lockscreen as we dont have the stock one, I have used almost all the other mods (apart from the screen transitions, and for boot animations I always forgot which location was the correct one)
Nice guide
btw: if you are cooking themes for CM7/T mobile theme engine, make sure to untick generate preview as if you leave it ticked the themes wont work.
Used the kitchen back on my Desire when I had it
Now I use Revolution rom on my SGS2
Is this for all roms? Stock or custom? Odexed or deoxed?
Thanks

Not too sure if all roms but using it on batista rom with no issues
Best bet is to back up before flashing. Worst case you get stuck in boot loop and have to restore
I've used it successfully for battery icon on Leomar V2.6. I'm not sure but I think the cooked zip file updater script does a cache and Dalvik wipe as part of the install, meaning that doing it beforehand is rather pointless.
As always, nandroid first!

In How-To section of the kitchen it says
9. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache (just in case). Do not wipe data / factory reset.
So I have always done it cant hurt anyways even if done 2 times

Could be a bad download simply or the file didn't get made correctly. I would recommend to re upload the files and reselect your mods and attempt to cook a new zip.
Never had this issue as of yet with this kitchen
BTW recovery 4.0.1.5 is available for use via Rom Manager you may want to update it as well
This is truly awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah I second the above comment. I have never tried anything like this before so I was really surprised how easy it was. Thanks for posting this.

Glad I could help fellow users
Also I recommend people create new zip for any new rom even different versions within the same rom.
Upgraded yesterday and tried using the old one I made but got a boot loop so it's safer to make new ones for each rom since frameworks can change
