Browser Shortcuts to Home Page not working? - Continuum General

I hit menu>more>add bookmark> and I check the "add to home" option, nothing happens. Anyone else have this happen too? Is this another "Froyo" wonder

This way works on mine... long press on your home screen... select shortcuts>bookmark then pick the bookmarked web page. Puts it right where you long pressed on the home screen.

Thanks for the tip. Ill have her try this out immediately when she gets home. Thanks

HomeTown Weather - Homescreen

I had this problem in HD2 as well but sorted it out. How do you put a default weather location on the main screen.
I do not want weather to show "My location" . I just want to see my home towns weather irrespective of where I am.
Any help?
Tap and hold the home screen widget, untill its draggable. Then drag it to the lower left "edit" button and type in a city

WOW
That was so cool
You made my day. Thanks
edit on mine does nothing it doesn't get highlighted as a option when i press and hold the widget?
bump is anyoneelses edit feature not working
It works for me. I wanted the opposite to yahya.hamid, I wanted to show 'current location' rather than the name of the town. As the man said, press and hold, then drag down to the bottom left hand corner, which turns into 'edit' and up pops the choice of cities or you can type one in. Thanks fcjversc, made my day also.
My problem is the number of cities in the database is very limited. Is there a way to get more cities?
Is anyone else having the edit issue I have ,if I hold on the widget and drag it to Tue bottom left corner the edit option is not delectable only the remove option is available

Sounds like your home screen is already full. Try moving some of the apps from your main home screen ( the middle one) and place them elsewhere. If the middle one is filled up, it will usually just take you to the home screen and not carry the shortcut for the app forward.
Else, try moving to an empty home screen(any except the middle one) and push and hold down on an empty space. Then, you will see an option saying "Shortcut" or something. Click on it, choose "application" and then select the app you want on that specific home screen and it will just carry it to that empty space you selected earlier.

If you have a home replacement app installed(launcherpro, adwlauncher, etc.) uninstall it and then try. Had the same problem, uninstalling the replacement launcher fixed it. Blur is garbage.
i just had pretty much the same issue. i just installed Go Launcher and the only way to add things onto the home screen is to hold down on the home screen you want to add to, then press add application and then there's a check list for the apps you want to add to that screen.
i know it's off topic, but blur does suck, i was okay with it until i tried other home replacement apps, went back to blur and it physically hurt.
Thanx guys but im perfectly aware of how to add stuff to the home screen and
When its full or not. As for launchers I have 5 different launchers installed including stock MOTOBLUR and I use home switcher for froyo. So for the time being ill just work with a lil' ADW here and a lil' launcherpro. Thanx anyway guys

Go into your apps, hit the menu button, choose edit, find what other three apps you want and drag. Them into the bottom bar, hit menu and selete save.
And next time questions go in q&a.
Go into the app drawer, click menu, edit. Move whichever apps you want into the dock.

Ill try this also.thanks man!
I found this too
I spoke with a Samsung rep at Best Buy about it and he said that the Sprint phones were able to circle all the way around like my Verizon GSIII would but for some reason even after removing the "My Magazine" it still won't loop. Hopefully someone finds a solution for this soon.
Put Nova on and spin away!!!!

Xda app no menu button

Ok so i got my edge plus yesterday. Been using the regular s6 for a few months now and in the xda app there is a actual menu button with 3 dots that kinda hovers down at the bottom. Well on my plus it isnt there. Cant figure out how to being up the menu. If i hold back with a longpress it just starts backing out. Holding home brings up google now. And holding the task brings up multiwindow.
My problem is i cant bring up the menu to create a new thread. Thats why im posting this on my s6 rather than my edge.
Is it something simple im just overlooking?

Dis you guys try to uninstall and install again? Im using XDA premium 4 and everything is awesome here
Yeah I have the same issue. One thing you can do though (not a permanent solution) is to go to accessibility settings and then add that hovering extra button and in that way you can access the menu button.

Long press back button?
Skickat från min SM-G928F via Tapatalk
I wrote about this over in the Note 5 forum. Nonfiction except to use the XDA premium app, which I think is inferior.
Actually the sad thing is that there's so little one can do to the locked device that I stuck to the free version and it doesnt matter as I hardly have a need to create new forums like the old days (where are you now, HD2???).

Here is the temp fix guys the problem is a lot of apps detect if there is a hardware menu button and omit showing the soft 3 dot button common in a lot of apps. The S5 has no dedicated menu button but it does have the long press home button option to launch the More options/Menu button, however out Galaxy S6 models do not have this option. BUT some apps still detect it and delete their in app button.
Here is the fix I figured out that works in this situation and it would be good to pass this on or write up a document.
Go to phone settings => Accessibility => Dexterity and interaction => Assistant Menu.
At the top right slide the off button to on to enable the Assistant menu icon on all screens. Then click on the Edit option. In the edit menu deselect all the buttons you do not need by hitting the red negative on the icons (-) in the upper part of the screen. (note it has two buttons that you cannot remove Home Screen, and Menu Settings) on the bottom half of the page hit the green plus sign (+) on the More Options button (It has 3 dots).
Now on all screens is a little round button with 4 dots on it, it appears on all screens in all programs and is floating. There is the More options button now which is the software menu button we are missing =). You can just go back and disable Assistant menu afterward or like me leave this handy button on because I have multiple programs that do this.
Hope this helps guys Cheers!
Long pressing back key brings up menu in most of the Apps

Yeah I tried that it did not work in the app that I run that I could not get to the menu with, I will try another program and see if I can get that to work. I also tried many of the other options I could find through the searches. See the reply above mine in this thread.
