[Q] Where is the MDJ build? I can't find in all the forum starting today...!!! - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Why all the MDJ's bulid included Nand and SD build seems disapeared?

MDJ's threads was closed because his threads are not in compliance with the requirements of the GPL.
see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11208534&postcount=14

The threads are still there, but they're all closed and download links have been removed.

People should look and know before they respond. His threads are no longer on the forum. At least we can't see them any more. The Desire HD v4.6 was never closed with the others. It is gone too.
Maybe mods have them hidden. But the way MDJ was responding lately I doubt you will ever see them again.

He definitely made some awesome roms i'm glad i have all of them on desktop and on server so if i want to go back i can. draw back is there is no more updates.

does somebody of you guys have the latest build (2,6).
Plz give me a private message

What was the statement from MDJ? Do you have informations about this?

I'm using the MDJ_FroYo_HD_v._4.6_MDJ_S78.0 since December and this SD-ROM works perfect.
Now thinking about a change to a NAND Version, and therefore today I'm searching for a MDJ-NAND-Build and now I find this message :-(

thank you for the info... bad news by the way..

its not well...

Very bad news ....

Hope he will share so we all can enjoy his build.
Rest of the builds arround are crap imo

Make sure you have magldr 1.13
Now install CMW (i have the 1.2 version) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913
After coping the files to the sd (CMW and the MDJ zip)
turn on the phone and hold the power button, then select boot ad sd.
next select zip from sd and select the mdj zip.

keep on posting updates if anyone knows the latest works of m-deejay ... he's still ahead of the curve, but i'm aching for an update.. so much potential to ban talent of his caliber especially being the OG cook for nand. patiently waiting, mdj number 1 choice, second is motoman's build!!

I've been using mdj nand cyanogen mod for a month or two, it's been lagging a bit and hot restarting often.
I don't know what I should use for my next rom...

1. [BUILD][04.11.2010] [Core Droid V0.6][SUPERSONIC (EVO 4G)][Kernel Hastarin #R8]
Instructions:
- Make Sure you have a Windows Build and Radio Compatible with Android you can use any of my ROMS since they are the ones i use too test Android so they are 100% compatible.
- If you already have an Android folder on your SD Card DELETE IT OR RENAME IT, because this version MAY BE INCOMPATIBILE with other builds.
- Extract the Android folder (with all files in in) to root of your SD Card. THIS IS IMPORTANT.
- After copyng everything to your SD Card ensure you have at least 1200 Mb free space for data store.
- On first run when there is “Creating a new data.img” just give it time to complete, and on first boot be patient and give it time to load everything.

Most people are just to lazy to do any searching to find the answers. They will still have issues will the simple layout you have provided. I've noticed they don't even know that the down loads appear in the first couple of post on every thread. I mean how simple is that.

Best ROM to install on HD2

Hi
I will be getting an HTC HD2 in a few days and I am planning on loading the Android Froyo OS, and will be using it as my main system.
But looking through all those threads, I am stuck as to where to begin.
I need to find the latest and best NAND ROM for the HD2, since I intend to do all this hopefully just one time.
I would appreciate any guides that would get me rolling in the right direction.
thanks
Personal opinion
Hi,
I have tried many ROM till now, infact mostly all the ROMs. The best for my purpose ( since I am a heavy user ) is HyperDroidGingerbreadV1.2.
Benefits:-
1. Tweeked
2. Super Speed
3. Battery saver
4. Nice UI
5. Very responsive.
PS: Do give it a try.
I suggest you go to the forum and just read. You will find lots of tutorials on how to install and tweak the roms. You will find multiple roms and each has unique features. What I have done, and what I suggest for you, is just tried a bunch of different roms to see what works best for me. Try them all and see what you like the most. Part of the fun of having the HD2 is all the different things you can do with it.

This question/topic is frowned upon on XDA simply because its asked over and over again and there is no real answer as its subjective.
What is "best" for one person isnt always "best" for another and you may experience problems that another person didnt on his hardware.
There is no point in just asking what is the best one to install, The best thing you can do is to go read some guides etc, research as much info as you can and then try various roms until you find one that you like best or works best for YOU.
Do I need to still have windows on the phone to be able to install Android, or can it be done on its own?
Depends if you're installing a ROM or NAND.
ROMs install on your media card and require WinMo to boot the phone, NANDS replace WinMo.
Note that ROMs and NANDs are located in different sections of the forum.

You can install SD builds or NAND builds. SD builds are just copied to your SD card and you boot them from within Windows, but NAND builds replace Windows. Both types of build are ROMs.
I would prefer the NAND ROMS. I really don't like windows at all.
Can't find the guide to help me do the NAND install.

Nay, dear sir. A ROM refers to software flashed to internal memory, whilst a build refers to software installed on an SD card.
Unfortunately a lot of people ignore or are not aware of this convention, but it's a pretty important one to prevent confusion.

Thanks for the correction, but actually ROM is the chip that the build is flashed onto (in the case of NAND). They're all builds, regardless of location
We could be stuck in an endless debate here, because these terms have different kinds of meanings. ROM is also often used as an abbreviation of ROM image, i.e. a image of the firmware on a read-only memory chip (ROM chip). This means that it would be valid to call NAND firmware ROM, and invalid to call SD firmware ROM since it's not meant for read-only memory.
While strictly speaking it is indeed correct to call NAND firmware a build, there has been made a convention (I suppose this is HD2 specific) to keep them seperated.

Casemandan, did I miss something? I have been browsing the JDMS thread for a few days, but don't see how it is "T-Mobile ready." In particular, I'm looking for MMS that comes in the same quality as the sense T-Mobile ready builds. Read a few tips but quality is still sacrificed upon receiving for all gingerbread ROMs I've tried.

Any suggestion ?

To my opinion is it to wait for a stabe gingerbread or (maybe) Honeycomb NAND rom, isnt it?
Thank mate...
i think best rom for hd2 is cyanogen mod7 v2.6 that is android 2.3.2
I like the MIUI build. It has a few hiccups, but great. Love this than the other builds.

My HD2 come from France, If I'm not wrong only US TMobile or 1024. Your's is a 512 "only"... sad us!
It's not a big issue anyway. Just avoid the builds labelled [TMOUS 1024]. 1024/512 is the size of the NAND. A build made specificly for a 1024 will not have enough space in your phone.
I don't think it will destroy the phone but it not worth testing.
If you want a non-sense one you can try this one: HyperDroidGBXv4.0
It's small and good for me.
Honnestly, juts go flashing and flashing. You can always recover the phone even if the flash goes wrong (just restart the flash).

well if xda wont allow it i thought it be okay to post a link to a different site. its not like am post the rom here. its not like the rom is illegal or something. from what i heard mdj wont give out his source code so they stopped it from xda. doesn't mean we can't still download it and use it from other sites.

if the mods removed the links due to GPL violation then (even though I love MDJ's work) his links probably shouldn't be posted here.

What does non-gpl compliance mean? I have MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 installed on my phone...is this something I should be concerned about?
Im not understanding this, they remove the best nand rom(imo) for tmous? with all due respect mdj cm7 brought more attention and traffic to xda-dev now they drop the thread and links because of some weird non compliance issue...What should i do? I still even have this rom installed on my phone? which nand build should I get instead, tmobile branded HD2.

I think you should do a little research on the GPL, then you will understand why it had to be pulled.
As for the best rom to move to....
Only you can decide that I'm afraid. AmericanAndroid seems to be popular though....
Sent from my fingers to your face.....
The facts are that MDJ's CM7 ROM is the best portage of gingerbread that i have seen at this point (with DFT installer).
Too bad all of his thread was delete, but I can understand GPL is important too.

Search, read, learn. Yes it is, but not without some fundamental changes to the ROM in your phone, in which case you would be better off with NAND.

May I ask what it is you are talking about when you say "Fundamental changes to the ROM"? Cause from what I get from the OPs post he or she is asking about a dual boot app.

I had this build on my phone 4 months ago when it came out and it was blazing fast but development has progressed from then and this build as far as im aware is now discontinued.
it's not that it's discontinued, it's just as top notch as it is going to get already. literally the most stable sd build I have ever used, and it's speed is unmatched.

It was the 'choose to boot option at switch on', dual boot app s only work after you've already booted into WinMo.
